Alma Tavern reviews
66Drunk youngsters at the bar and partying in the toilet including in the lavatories.was so bad we decided to leave even though we wanted to have lunch there.
I booked a table for 15 people with two weeks in advanced for my birthday. When I got there, they didn't have my booking even though it was confirmed. The booking manger was quiet rude and pretty much didn't care they have messed up and had people waiting while they try to organize something. Nothing was offer, no a freemeal or a drink. And we finished in a table in front of the pokies.
I had the chicken schnitzel there yesterday. Honestly best schnitzel I’ve had. Was so good. Don’t write reviews often but deserved it.
Sweet potato fries were the starter and were just delicious. A must! I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy. Moist and tender. Came with a generous serve of chips and I chose garlic greens. The greens were perfect. My son chose the margherita pizza which he said was awesome. Service was quick friendly and it was nice to see this venue support young people with jobs. Atmosphere was warm and friendly and fun to people watch. Great place.
Dropped in for a feed. The venue was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The venue was pretty busy but it was still a good atmosphere.
Ordered the burger. Came out, hot and fresh. Tasted great!
Missos schnitty and the kids meals were of good size and they came out hot and tasted great!
The beer also tasted great and nice and fresh.
Keep up the great work!
3 stars only because the eggplant parmigiana schnitzel was bitter with a tiny bit of sauce that didn't cover the burnt crumbs. All other dishes were good.
Very disappointed with the food that was served today and the drinks were very expensive.
They didn't even have a sparkling Shiraz.
Pretty decent experience here. Food was solid if unspectacular, prices OK and service was almost TOO friendly. No complaints.
WHAT EVER YOU DO DO NOT GET THE ANGUS BEEF BURGER! Apart from that the atmosphere was very nice and good customer service.
Chicken burger was very good, house made slaw and snitty. Nice staff good service good atmosphere
Our party of 9 had a lunch today at the Alma. What a disappointing experience it was. We were told if one wanted the Christmas Senior menu, we all had to have it which I thought was bizarre. All 9 of us ordered the Christmas menu. The garfish was tiny and dry. I don't know where you could buy garfish that small. The tart was dreadful. The base was hard as a rock. My husband and myself had previously had lunch there to try it out. The food was beautiful a couple of months ago. Todays lunch was an insult and felt very embarrassed bringing our friends there. Very, very disappointing.
Absolutely wonderful. Meals for 16 came out at the same time. Staff was great and friendly. Everyone was happy with the meals.
Amazing service all employees work super hard and have a bit of a laugh with the customers also great quality food!
Very good service and good food for my lunchtime visit. Friendly staff made up for the somewhat limited line in beers, although cocktails seem to be quite the thing here.
Sadly, although this place is great for Coeliacs, the service, in my opinion, has really gone down. I am a regular customer and I'm not sure that I will continue returning. I came here for my birthday celebration, the waitress was quick to take away my left overs to then throw them away! What a waste. Despite this, I decided to give you guys a second chance, I called to make a booking to be told "NO" I couldn't do so. I then told the lady over the phone that there were bookings available online. She went on a tangent before saying despite that, no I wasn't able to book. Regardless, I then booked online, called back to confirm the booking and the person I spoke to said it was all confirmed. RIDICULOUS. We come to dinner, the waitress was rushing around and reaching over me, not excusing herself. She was so abrupt that it made me uncomfortable. Not to mention it is ridiculously hard to get the attention of any staff. We wanted a refill on our table water, I called out to a few people to come and help, but was ignored. I understand you are busy but you need to take notice of the tables and stop rushing around, this is a restaurant.
Went to pub, started winning on tab couldnt even pay 200 winner ask me to leave when i asked why a pub worth millions cant afford to pay tab winners but happy to take on bets was offered store credit instead absolute sham of a oranganization
I will disclose this by saying it was my birthday, so I was bound to be pleased whatever my experience, but cannot fault the alma tavern. Staff are lovely, attentive (but not to the point of annoying)
Pork belly was beautiful, but the apple bomboloni. THE APPLE BOMBOLONI. If you do not like the apple bomboloni, you clearly do not have taste buds, and we cannot be friends.
Thanks for an amazing birthday dinner, it was 100% worth it
Nice meals, great bar options and a nice fitout too. Unfortunately the vibe wasn’t great when I visited recently with hardly anyone there and dancing, but I’ve been before when it’s been great.
Celebrated our daughter’s 21st function at the Alma Tavern (MD room) last night. A really nice space, beautiful GF food platters (no problems catering for coeliac), and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Thank you to the functions manager Sarah for being so helpful organising it.
Only place I'll go out to eat. One of the only places I feel safe to eat at with coeliac disease. Great service and food!
