Adelaide Central Market reviews
72One of my favourite places in Adelaide. Lucky to be there over Xmas, the produce was magnificent. Cherries and lemon curd tarts simply delicious.
Best market in Australia. A must to visit when in Adelaide. Check opening hours on website. Wonder around, enjoy the array of differing produce and stop for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Fresh vegetables, fruits and meats. Cakes, coffee and restaurants. I had the poffertjes (small fluffy pancakes) and it was really good. Cinnamon, lemon and cream on top and so yum.
Charming market with great range of shops, from fresh produce to quirky shops selling honey from different places in Australia to finest food delicacies.
Easy to explore in depth in 2 hours - no need to pay anyone for tours - it’s self explanatory
Don’t miss it. Must see it in Adelaide
A must for anybody on vacation to enjoy all the fabulous variety of decadent cakes coffee and fresh produce
Well worth a visit, dont eat before you go so you can eat there. Only problem is what to choose.
Plenty of treats to choose from.
It’s disappointing to see such a small area turned into something so ugly, it could be so much better than Melbourne markets because of its small size. Only a handful of places to eat and not that appealing, there is no atmosphere or vibe. The vegies are expensive and not that fresh, the surrounding shops look old, dirty and messy.
We could do so much better Adelaide, someone should take this space and turn into something we can all be proud of and attract Tourists.
Food is no longer fresh like it's used to be. Bought a fresh coconut for $5 from the veg.shop next to the escalator, it was rotten when we got home. Fresh produce overpriced. I'm prepared to pay more as long if it's fresh but it's not. Looks like covid restrictions made bad affec. I won't be going there soon.
Sensory overload! Two options, go on an empty stomach and buy everything or go with a full stomach and save some money!
The Adelaide Central Market is always a great place to visit for excellent quality produce. Stall staff are always friendly and happy to help.
The Adelaide Central Markets @AdelCentralMarket are a must visit and it was bustling on Xmas eve. I'd popped in for a number of items. For Xmas a light lunch in the park was the idea so some fruit, bread, pastrami, wasabi cheese, and antipasto were perfect items.
For breakfast I got a deliciously warmed spanakopita & an absolutely yum Portuguese egg tart from @MarketBreadBar, and a very enjoyable Vietnamese iced coffee @TheCoffeeBeanShop.
For breakfast over the next few days a visit to @SkalaBakery for pastries - twice baked berry almond pastry, puff daddy (filled with custard), and a cinnamon scroll. They're very delicious. To wash it all down choc milk and iced coffee @Fleurieu_Milk_Company were very much enjoyed.
Also need a fix for French pastries @Les_Deux_Coqs which I will enjoy over the coming days.
Great place, disappointing security and sometimes cops don't know the law. Harassing people to wear face diapers. Which don't work and require consent. Something a lot of people seem to have forgotten is actually the law.
Some of my fondest memories from visiting in childhood through to living close to and working as a fishmonger for 14 years have occured here. The 'management authority' is rapidly gentrifying and bastardizing what was an authentic Market through encouraging boutique stalls, driving up rents and lease timeframes in the middle of 1. A pandemic and 2. With the massive demolition of the Market arcade and the ensuring uncertainty it brings.
The falling numbers of customers and increased empty stalls is staggering. And now they want to force you 'to register' and carry with you a card for the first hour 'free carparking. Sorry guys. Something has to give. Its me. I will be avoiding my once favourite institution until the once famous Market is returned to its former glory.
$37 for a lost tickets is genuinely scalping people. Airport parking simply uses EFTPOS requiring no ticket which means it's completely possible to scrap a redundant ticket system, and with the money they make from lost tickets, they can 100% afford to do it. Pathetic.
Adelaide Central Market is an absolute iconic and must see destination in Adelaide. Do yourself a favour.
A brilliant market full of fresh, local meats, fruits, veg and masses of other locally produced goods.
So fresh veggies and fruits for all tastes. Great fish selection and all sort of meat available. You can by candy too. Love this market.
Always worth a visit. Both eclectics and basics catered for. Still the best markets in Australia
Hard recommend here for visiting, just enjoy food, people, architectures, everything. Explore for fun.
