Abyssinian Restaurant

We've been to this place many times now. I just love the honest and simple food being served here. The food we've had has always been fresh with no complaints the next day. I love the bread, it compliments the dishes really well. The service is slow but the delicious food makes up for that, no worries.

Have the bit of everything plate. Its delicious! (Forget its name) $25 per head 3 vegetarian dishes and 3 meat n fish on massive Africian flat bread!

This place is a scam. I bought the groupon offer, was supposed to be a grand 6- course dinner. But all we got was stale food. There was no seafood as stated. The owner had filthy clothes on, should not be serving food in such clothes. Was a bit rude too! The food was ordinary, all the items tasted the same. Will never go back there ever again. I feel nauseous now after the meal.

Went here for dinner before seeing a show down the road at 8. Arrived at 6.30 and was sat in the corner and promptly ignored for the night. Having still not received our food at 7.30 we politely asked if it was far off, only to be snapped at, as if our question was unreasonable. Turns out they had given our food to another couple, who had come in after us. That couple was profusely apologised to (? !), and we were not even informed. Did not receive a single apology, and was not acknowledged when we left. Disgusted at the "service" from the owner.

Nice food and nice owner. His boy often help as a waiter, not sure if he get paid though. Nah, the food is tasty, that's good enough.

Staff are fantastic and the owner is really nice and good to chat to. Food was delicious and well priced. Decor is super retro and a bit tacky, but that added to the fun of the evening. BYO corkage rages pretty reasonable too. Will be back for sure.

I heavily regret having gone to this place for lunch. Not only was the food so ordinary but also stale. Both the items ordered tasted exactly the same and looked the same. My husband and I felt sick the whole day after being back from here.

Absolutely wonderful food! Lovely family run business. The food is so flavoursome. We had the mesob style dining experience which is served in a giant platter and designed to be shared. Great value for money as well. Highly recommend the Ethiopian coffee.
