I really wish I could rate the food but I’ve been waiting just over 90 minutes ago. I called after an hour and was told it was ready for pick up. Never again

Absolutely incredible, the vegan banquet over delivered. We will be coming here at least two times a month now. If you haven’t been here you MUST!

A great authentic Ethiopian place! We tried a variety of meat and vegetarian dishes, and they were worth every penny. Don’t give their coffee a miss, and ask them about the coffee ceremony. You might be in for a little surprise.

Absolutely amazing food with a very humble service to go with it. I would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a adventurous food experience.

This is a favourite place for dinner. We're veggies so always get the 'beyainetoo' veggie combo. So much food and really yummy.

Went here looking for a vegan feed and we were pleasantly surprised. We got the Beyainetoo (Veggie Combo) and got to try 5 different dishes with Injera bread. All vegetarian dishes are suitable for vegans and they were all amazing; we even got some extra Injera bread on the side for free. We got one Beyainetoo each and it was a lot of food; we were absolutely stuffed and only just managed to finish all the food between the two of us. The staff are really friendly, the food was excellent value as the portions were so big and we only paid $25 each and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to other vegans.

Guys the food is perfect if you wanna enjoy African food your most welcome to try however you will never ever forget about it, and the services is excellent the crew demonstrate professionalism and full of culture you feel as if you’re in your house mate full my hands up

This spot has everything you could want in an Ethiopian restaurant. The food was amazing, the coffee delicious, our hosts were friendly and informative and the environment was casual and pleasant. There's no rushed service here so expect to enjoy a leisurely meal. The quality and experience will be worth it. I live in California but if I ever find myself in Adelaide again, I will certainly be back.

If you want a more relaxed and friendly dining experience this is the place to go. Very nice restaurant. Best Ethiopian restaurant in Adelaide.

While the food is really good, the take away is disappointing. You pay online, come to pick it up, and discover that they only start making the food when you show up. They need to get serious.

Edit: I have to give them one more star, as they read my first review and then got serious! Great job!

The food here is so good. I have never had a bad meal here and you will not leave hungry! It is fresh, healthy and delicious. The staff are always friendly. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Having been to Ethiopia and experienced the wonderful culture, food and people first hand it is an absolute delight to know that we have a small haven of this experience in Adelaide.
Having dinner at The Abyssinian restaurant is like having dinner at a old friends house but with a lot better food. Michael and the team are just a pure delight, his mother who works her magic in the kitchen and produces the most magical array of tastes and flavours is as if she was a god herself.
In fact scrap my first comment, this place deserves 7 stars.

Visited this restaurant approximately a week ago for dinner. First time experience to enjoy food from Ethiopia

The place wasn't too busy as it was in the middle of the week. Made sure to make a reservation before visiting the place to ensure that a seat was available. The restaurant is located on the northern side of Henley Beach road, not far from the South Road intersection. There's plenty of parking space available on the side streets.

The food was brought out quickly to the table, however instead of the 5 dishes that come with the item ordered only 4 were provided. The waiter acknowledged the discrepancy and offered to bring out the other dish. It never came Unfortunately they had run out of Ethiopian beer as well.

The food was good and the coffee was better. The wait staff (apart from the slight stuff up) was friendly. The young lady working behind the bar and the kitchen was very pleasant and helpful. This restaurant seems to be quite popular with the regulars.

*chefs kiss* not only ws the food deliciously moreish and packed full of flavour, but they have a TV in the corner playing g videos on how the food I made, which I enjoyed thoroughly. If you're precious about your hands this probably isn't for you as the traditional way to eat is with your hands, using the bread as your 'cutlery'. It's fun, it's delicious, and I can't wait to go back.

We didn't know what to expect from Abyssinian but were blown away by the vegetarian platter. Portions are huge and every dish was delicious. The service was slow on the night due to higher than expected number of patrons but staff did their best.

I love Ethiopian food and this is one of the best I have tasted. All the dishes had a very different flavour to each other. I loved that the vegetables that are normally done in garlic were done in a different way. They were really nice. Good value for money as well. Staff are very friendly. I will definitely be back.

Took a chance going in when the shop was empty.paid off! Service was friendly, food was excellent. First time eating Ethiopian food for me and I loved it! Got the mesob plate, so many tasty flavours. Also tried the vegetable sambussas which were crisp and delicious. One lady running the show - front of house and kitchen - what a champ!

Great traditional food. Very hard working single staff member working both kitchen and front of house herself! She did well.

Great experience! The Mesob share plate for 3 could have fed 5.we couldn't finish it so bring a big appetite! The staff were engaging and friendly. Mother and daughter are fabulous cooks and create all the dishes from scratch. Great prices, we will be back:)
