1802 Oyster Bar - Coffin Bay reviews
67The restaurant has a nice orientation layout, however everything on the menu was so expensive so we didn’t order much. The oysters were good, nothing too spectacular though.
Very nice location and food was beautiful. Only criticism was the menu was lacking options for non seafood lovers, the wait was a tad too long and staff asked us several times if the food was ok. Maybe once is enough to ask. Aside from that, actually a very nice place.
Making a booking is necessary, lol we got refused service due to covid bs, table chairs everywhere, scenery 5/5 food terrible terrible prices.
A pure delight we had the 3 sample ssmple dishes as part of our tour, the raw tuna and beetroot salad was the first course, followed by calamari in squid ink wrap, the 3rd dish was mussels in a mango znd coconut curry, all were top notch. Thank you 1802
We had 2 dozens of cold oysters dishes and 2 dozens of hot oyster dishes! Great food! The seafood platter was also delicious n fresh! Must have oysters for sure! The place offers several oysters dishes 8 cold styles and 8 hot dishes oysters dishes! I think main focus here are the oysters and small dishes! Try them all!
Amazing oysters, wasn't a fan before but the different flavour combos were amazing. And lovely staff accomodating our 3 dogs and us at short notice. I rate this 5 oystars
Food was good and waitress was also very nice and helpful.
However ordering the hot seafood platter was more like a tasting plate. There was no salad, nor bread to dip in leftover sauce from yellow thai curry mussel dish. This meant we had to buy desert. We are not big eaters but this meal wasn't satisfying.
Pretty hard to fault, good meals and the service was exceptional,
the presentation is of a high quality, 10/10
The food portions 7/10 (not feeling bloated and able to fit in desert) the steaks ordered wer done to the persons liking, the seafood platters hot and cold to share only really a meal for 2 but we shared amongst 5 as more of a tasting plate.
The service was really good when asked the waitress what wine to recommend for a glass of red, She didnt just point out the most expensive glass and we enjoyed the wine picked,
Desert
the chocolate lava cake with vanila ice cream. 10/10
Well presented 10
Good portion 10
Quality of the desert, 10
Probably one of the better restaurants ive dined in along time,
Our family enjoyed the dining experience at 1802. The young lady who served us was very friendly and attentive to all the little details. Not many restaurants have these kinda staff.
The food was good, we did order a few dishes that were not to our liking. But it was our first time here so it’s ok. The setting n ambience was cool. It was not too crowded so we got to enjoy the place more.
The sailors map on the wall was interesting and we spent some time going through it.
Special mention to their lava cake, we changed the sorbet to ice cream and it went well.
Overall it was a pleasant dining experience.
Not our first time, the food is always great, however we were extremely disappointed with the way we were greeted, seated and treated by the head waitress Claire. Abrupt, rude and patronising. Sad for such a great place with fabulous waitressing staff, if not for them and the fabulous food we would have up and left immediately.
Terrific menu, the shared plate was sensational and the oyster selection tough to choose, they were all good
Cannot fault this place! Awesome table service from Imogen. Do yourself a favour.bypass "the other" Oyster Bar down the road and go straight to 1802!
We tried 8 different flavoured Oysters, all of which were incredible, super fresh and delicious. Tried the octopus/chorizo, Korean fried chicken, salt & pepper calamari and wild tuna from the smaller options which were all really yummy. Shared the kingfish as a main which was very fresh and all the ingredients worked well together. Also shared the chocolate lava cake which was delicious but I would’ve preferred fresh strawberries or vanilla ice cream with it instead of orange sorbet as it’s a very bold flavour. Would highly recommend and return.
Great friendly service and delicious food. We had the yellow prawn curry and clam linguini. We were really amazed at how large the prawns were!
Yummy yummy seafood, pet friendly outdoor area which was just awesome!
Great service, presentation and staff
Great food in a lovely spot. More than just oysters, but the oysters are great. I just wish I had more seafood lovers to go with so I could have tried more of the dishes.
Lovely place, excellent food. We were just driving through looking for a lunch stop, this place was an unexpected surprise
Great food in a scenic spot on the Esplanade in Coffin Bay. A little on the pricey side, but perfect for a special occasion on a holiday.
Amazing food! Great service! Didn’t expect to find such a high quality 5 star restaurant here in Coffin Bay!
The waitress and restaurant manager was super friendly. The restaurant was busy and we didn’t have a booking. They quickly made up a table to squeeze us in, the waitress then very kindly took the time to recommend dishes to us.
We had the bluefin tuna sashimi and clam linguine. The clam linguine was fairly spicy from the spicy Italian sausage but was complemented perfectly with the cool sashimi.
Highly recommended if you’re in the area. Make sure to call to make a booking beforehand because it gets busy. 11/10!
Great food. Great location. Great service and staff. Laid back and enjoyed fine wine and dining.
