The Barracks Shopping Centre reviews
66Carpark is small and a strange place to have a small shopping complex. Prices are high. Go if you must.
Reliably easy to find parking, good quality established, unique restaurants, a large brand supermarket (Coles) and assorted other shops, a cinema with an eclectic showing. Smaller, boutique feel mall. Worth a look. Plan your route. The one-way system is a little perplexing for the novitiate.
Situated at the city end of the top of Milton road, and with free limited time undercover parking, The Barracks is very convenient shopping for near Inner City residents of that area. Very large Coles and several speciality shops, including licensed premises. Convenient pick up/set down area.
A beautiful boutique style mall! A Coles Supermarket that caters to all demographics! As I saw a homeless man making sandwiches from a fresh loaf of bread he had bought! I was quite suprised to see this in this area! A huge cinema & many restaurants! A great meeting place!
This centre has an air of dereliction. What you would expect in one of those deserted cities in America. The car park is especially in need of a re-vamp. Dividers and lines should be painted. Ticket machine, how quaint. Dark and dingy and the lower level could be converted into a sauna with very little effort. The centre itself is small but reasonably equipped for normal shopping needs - no real life in it.
Get the definite impression that this centre is due for demolition.
I really like this mini shopping centre. I reccomend the asian poke bowls, not so much the Orpoto. The pharmacy is really friendly and helpful with great specials to your right as you walk in. The Coles is sufficient and not over priced as you would expect from metro based convenience.
Watched a security guard very professionally prevent a dachshund from being stolen. Good to know this is a safe place to do shopping as the security guard was straight onto what was going on.
If you're hoping to see a movie, your validation recievied at the Palace Cinema lasts for 2 hours. When your movie lasts longer than that, tough luck and expect an additional parking charge. A disappointing end punctuating an otherwise enjoyable experience.
A good clean shopping center, great for meetings close to the city with a couple of hours FREE Parking.
Easy undercover free parking (up to 2 hrs), a big Coles supermarket and a lack of crowds makes this place great for a food shopping trip. It's a small centre with a few shops and restaurants, plus a cinema.
BWS is excellent, exceptional service and impeccable store. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Cinemas are a bit pricey, but worth it if you're in to that kind of thing.
For many years I was a regular patron of many of the shops and cafes at The Barracks. It used to be a thriving hub of trendy shops and restaurants. I walked through past these shops yesterday on my way to the cinema, and was disappointed to see a very run down centre.
Limited shops and Coles is seriously not necessary there, this space could have been utilized for so many other business
Great location to watch a movie. Seats are very comfortable. Unfortunately the senior ticket prices have increased. Remember to validate your parking ticket before you leave the cinema to save some dollars
Had breakfast here with my wife. Great atmosphere and food. Really nice staff was suggested to leave a review by one of the new staff members, if I remember correctly the name is Cristan. Keep up the good work guys! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great veriety of breakfast menu!
Friendly good amenities. There is a Coles a bws and cinema good city views close to Roma St station.
They have the standard Woolworths and Lorna Jane, etc. Their cinema is great and they have the best choc-tops I've ever had. Go to the cinema, but the rest is pretty standard.
It was my 1st time here and was only here as I had to go to Suncorp Stadium to pick up my Kevin Bloody Wilson ticket as it was the closest outlet to Red Hill. I also needed to visit Coles so instead of getting the route 61 bus to Ashgrove I just walked to the barracks.
Project Bowls - Was told 20 minute wait time on a single bowl of noodles. An hour and 15 minutes later and I see my food.
No apologies or anything of the sort. Safe to say this will be the last time eating here.
Free parking if there for under two hours. The shopping complex is quite small but boasts a few quality shops. Convenient if you are looking to do groceries inner city, see a movie, or go for dinner. Great public transport options only a short walk away. Area becomes quite busy during sports games and events as Suncorp Stadium so be aware during these peak times.
