The Barracks Shopping Centre reviews
66Good place for beers and food before a game at Suncorp stadium. Barvarian is great for beers. Have the bbq chicken wings with jack Daniels sauce. Ask for extra sauce if also having chips. That sauce is slightly sweet and a little spicy. Recommended.
The employee's are very friendly. But Coles rarely has fresh fruit and vegetables.
The Doctor and Chemist are ok in emergencies. The lady behind the counter in the chemist goes out of her way to help and is lovely. However seems to have little knowledge on the minimum stock they carry.
The Florist is over priced.
The Bottle shop has a very limited variety. Not much help either.
The theatre only plays old movie at outrageous prices.
Over all I'd much prefer to drive a little further and go somewhere else.
This is a great little hub with lots of choices for places to fine, coupled with a bunch of stores and services. The vibe is chilled and quite the sense gentrification.
Lovely centre to have a quick visit. Newly renovated with a good amount of restaurants. It needs a few more small shops though.
Great sushi and has other good restaurants. The Coles store is well stocked although if you want to buy a pre packed sandwich, go before 11am. Otherwise they seem to sell out really quickly with lunchtime workers.
It’s accessible from upper Edward street, Petrie Terrace. It’s a one way street Coming from Southbank, city or existing from M3 by car. Underground car parks to access variety of eateries, shops, and a cinema.
They had an awesome display of old school blockbusters from over ten years ago n were going to reshow them at some time or another at the little theatre good effort
Great place to see a movie, grab a drink or meal. Discount parking deals with movie tickets available.
The barracks shopping center is a combination of the beautiful police barracks and an awkward shopping development. It is worth a visit to understand how development can be so poorly executed.
Excellent example of repurposing older buildings, keeping the charming aspects while creating a modern functional shopping and eating precinct.
One of Brisbane's best transformations with plenty of parking in the onsite parking building (and First 2 hours free!)
Came for the movies which were great. But the carpark? Ever heard of number plate recognition? Instead. Take ticket. Have it validates at movies (queue), then stick into ticket machine before exiting (queue) then try to exit but queue because others didn't know about having to stick into machine before exiting. Please move on car park sharks
Walking distance from hostel square on Upper Roma Street - an asset to anyone travelling or living light!
Loved the view from the cenima. Kids love to see the trains passing through. 2 hrs free parking is nice.
I love the Barracks cinema and frequently go there. However, if you wish to dine before or after the movie, the two hour free parking isn’t enough time and despite a validation from the cinema, the parking cost can be expensive when added to movie and dining costs. There are too many competitors with free parking and dining options that are now of more interest to me.
Clean and tidy and well maintained area, the shops are varies in products and the food service shops are modern. Worth going to either see a movie or have a meal
I always enjoy this place. Great location, toilets are always well maintained, parking is fairly reasonable, grocery store is well stocked, friendly staff, classy cinema and always pleasant to walk through. One of my favourite spots in the city outskirts.
Only go there for the Coles. There's always a bad stink downstairs as you drive in, can't prevent putting your window down as you need to get a ticket, so that's pretty bad. Food there is okay also (eateries near cinema). Pity you don't get 3 hours to park there, otherwise I'd use the Cinemas there.
Love the Barracks. Easy parking close walk to Caxton St and Suncorp stadium. Love the Palace Cinema great films. A variety of places to eat, very popular
Nice place with cinema, barber, chemist, sushi train, coles, bar and dine, coffee, fashion, it's got the lot.
The cinemas have a great food and drink selection and are typically clean, however the other week I found a maggot squirming its way across one of the seats! I knocked it off and promptly squashed it.
I've never had an experience like this before.
Now, I have continued to go here & haven't found any more.but it does make you think, how clean really are cinemas? !
