I definitely recommend SF in the city, staff are very supportive and helpful and I have to say I love the 3 story fit out of the gym. Again we’ll thought out design by SF. The equipment is new and there is a machine for every muscle group, not to mention the fabulous free weight section and the massage chairs and the beautiful lap pool. 10 out of 10 SF CBD

Strand fitness has been the best gym I have been to. All the equipment has been easily accessible.

First time coming here and the receptionist Rhe was super helpful and felt super welcomed as soon as I stepped in.

Genuinely an amazing gym, the vibe is great. Everyone is there to improve and provide help for each and every member. Would 100% recommend.

I love Strand Fitness! The facilities are amazing! Sauna, magnesium swimming pool, massage chair plus yoga and pilates classes. It definitely a place that I like to work out as the atmosphere is nice plus the staff are friendly and attentive. There are three Strand Fitneds and they are all super nice.

Be clear on what your signing for. I tried to cancel my membership via phone then e-mail, they wanted me to come in face to face which I couldn't do as I was packing up to leave town, then they demanded I fill out a form, which meant finding a printer and scanner to do so (didn't have the equipment). Total inconvenience and as it turned out, unbeknown to me I didn't successfully send the email. In my rush to email the form to another email address to print out, fill out, scan then e-mail to the club, I ended up emailing it only to myself and not including the club's email address.
Eight months later they were still pulling money out of my account. After explaining the situation, I received no compensation. They wouldn't even consider meeting me halfway. I only attended the gym twice. Two gym attendances cost me approximately $1000.
(Before realising all this, I since joined a gym in Cairns and I am having a similar problem with them - they insisted on me attending when downgrading my membership and then being almost hassled into not doing so - several texts from the instructors, being told at the desks how great the classes are etc etc.).
Now looking for an alternative gym in Cairns without the vulture culture.

Strand fitness is the best gym in Townsville for sure. So much available! Whatever your current exercise program is, the equipment is there for you! It’s also nice and clean and the sanitizer smells amazing. Lemony fresh. Staff are dope too. Definitely recommend.

Recently moved to Townsville and wanted a gym with classes - Strand Fitness provided that and so much more. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable, set up is fantastic, and they have a huge range of equipment and areas to work. Always look forward to my visits here and the coffee on my way out!
