I just finished the 10 week first time Mum's group with a new tribe of beautiful friends to share the good, bad and hilarious times of motherhood with. I would highly recommend any new parent to join one of Carene's courses. She is kind and welcoming, the guest speakers and Miss Riza the musician are wonderful and who doesn't love their coffee order ready and waiting for them in the morning? !

Joining Modern Mamas was the best decision i made. It was recommended to me by a client who joined a class several years before. I can honestly say that without joining i doubt i would have enjoyed the newborn phase as much. It gave me confidence to leave the house alone and 10 weeks later i've learnt so much, met down to earth women and wished it went for longer.

I also joined the pilates class and absolutely loved it!

I loved my 10 week mothers group at Modern Mamas. Carene has created an amazing space to facilitate getting to know other Mums. I found it great to get out of the house and have something to look forward to every Tuesday. Highly recommend Modern Mamas for anyone who is looking to get to know some other Mums and do something fun every week with their little one!

10 weeks ago I felt stuck. I desperately wanted to get out but was so anxious about leaving home and I felt trapped because I had no idea what I was doing. I didn’t think a mothers group would help. I’m so glad I was wrong. Modern Mamas allowed me to meet some incredible women, I know already we will be friends for life, we regularly catch up at other venues and share ideas/ask advice of each other. Catching up is a highlight of our week. Modern mamas is a wonderful environment to learn, connect and have fun with your Bub. I would recommend it to all new mums. I still have no idea what I’m doing but I’m not scared by it anymore because I have the people and tools help me.

Modern Mamas is the most wonderful place to connect with other mums, mothers group is thoughtfully planned in 10 week blocks and provides new mums with a comfortable space to meet and engage with each other and with Bub. I looked forward to turning up every week, having a hot cup of tea and doing something baby orientated that was outside a medical environment. And from mothers group I’ve also now done Music as well, which Bub has loved and has introduced me to even more lovely Mamas. I can’t recommend joining enough, it’s been incredibly helpful for me whilst on mat leave and connected me with some terrific mamas.

The best thing I’ve done on maternity leave. Each session just flew and was something I really looked forward to each week. It was the boost I needed especially on those tougher days. Carene has created such a welcoming and positive space where mums can be themselves and get back to themselves.

A great 10 week mothers group, where genuine connections are made with other mums. Carene has a great schedule for the 10 weeks with a mix of informative guest speakers and some fun music days.
Highly recommended even for those mumas who aren’t too social like myself!

I did the music mothers group every Friday. I’m an approachable, friendly person and joined in the hope of making more friends. A lot of mums had been previous terms and I was new. Most mums avoided eye contact, didn’t smile or make the effort to get to know me and my children. A couple made the effort which was welcoming and kind. To top it off on my last day, no one bothered to sit next to me (they all sat opposite me) and my baby … didn’t even acknowledge us.

Luckily a mum noticed and came over to sit next to us. Unfortunately we won’t be returning for another term. The host Carene is nice and welcoming, Miss Riza plays some good tunes and the coffee was good. However it’s a little pricey at $25 PER child for the ten weeks I paid it as I thought I would make some life long friends, anyways! Boy was I naive. People who gain satisfaction out of excluding others (and their kids) are just not my kind of people. I prefer to find my tribe in a nicer, more comfortable environment.

Modern Mamas was the greatest thing I ever did! I was one of the first women in my friendship group to have a baby and didn’t have any mum friends. Each week I was able to chat with Mums while having a much needed coffee. Could not recommend Modern Mamas enough enough!

Beautiful group for being a first time mum meeting lovely people and the group each week was interesting, fun, and a lovely place to feel relaxed. Carene does a fantastic job and I would highly recommend it for new mums.

Modern Mamas is truly one of a kind. Such a beautiful space to relax and connect with other mums each week. The program has been lovingly and thoughtfully created and Carene is a ray of sunshine on those sleep deprived mornings! Highly recommend.

Signed up for 10 week newborn Mother’s group and I can’t recommend this Mother’s group highly enough. Best thing you can do for yourself and your baby. Every week I would look forward to getting out and socializing with other mother’s and enjoying free barista coffee and biscuit/fruit salad. Carene is lovely and creates a warm, welcoming and fun environment. Bub loved it too! So much stimulation she would happily fall asleep. Enjoyed it so much I’ve signed on for another 10 week program. Thanks Carene. Keep doing what you’re doing! X

5 stars from me and Bub. Did their 10 week program and was very happy we signed up. I was hesitant at first as I didn’t know what to expect really. Carene has created a space for mums and bubs to connect, something a first time mum like me was really looking for. We truly enjoyed coming to our weekly sessions every single week. Highly recommend!

I really enjoy my time here, I drive across Brisbane to attend every week and it's worth it. Great way to get out of the house. Each week is a different format including music, diet/nutrition, birth stories. The mums are really lovely and friendly

I’m so glad my daughter and I joined Modern Mamas, we have a great time every week and have met lovely mums and their babies Carene has done a wonderful job making every week interesting with guest speakers and providing much needed coffee! I recommend Modern Mamas to other mums!

Robyn and Jane were amazing.

During each antenatal session there passion, knowledge and overall approach to education for both parents was invigorating.

We left each session motivated and more in control of how we would approach our birth. For any new parents, please join. Can’t recommend enough.

I absolutely recommend joining MGDD as it really provided me with great support throughout my early motherhood journey which felt very lonesome at the beginning. Now having completed 10 weeks I have wonderful 15 ladies I can connect to who have same age bubs. We will surely continue to catch up and share precious moments with bubs together. I am forever thankful to Carene ️
