Mermaid Beach Medical Centre reviews
62My wife and I were looking for a new doctor and found Dr. Jeeuk Song. We both enjoyed a very good consultation with him. He is an excellent doctor as demonstrated by his careful approach and diagnosis of our health concerns. We would not hesitate to recommend him. Also we had a very positive experience with the reception ladies. We used the business website to book our appointments and then downloaded the app.
I had to have an iron infusion last night which I was pretty terrified for, but Jo the Nurse made it the best experience possible and was so kind, caring and knew exactly how to make me feel better. She is the biggest asset to your team and I want her to know how much her empathy is appreciated! I also see Dr Carter who is really easy to talk to and never makes you feel like you’re being rushed.
Recent thanks to the Dr's and staff at Mermaid Beach Medical Centre.after experiencing a bit of a health scare, they were accommodating, professional and caring.they were extremely thorough and I am very grateful for their assistance. Thank you so much.
I was incredibly fortunate to become a patient of Dr. Carter's about 7 years ago and only ever had positive experiences. I have gone to him with a very diverse range of problems, which he has always met me with the time to listen and help me find a solution no matter the problem. I have genuinely never met a more caring, personable, genuine doctor. There have been times with an extensive wait, but that is because he gives each patient the quality care they deserve. I could not recommend Dr. Carter enough as a doctor.
And the ladies who regularly work at reception that I have met are Gerta, Linda, and Sue and I think they do a great job helping the patients and being personable. Being a receptionist can be a tough job because you can be met with a lot of challenging people, and I think the team here does a great job!
Like all the other posts, Dr’s are great but reception team need training on customer service. Terrible phone manner and not helpful at all. Business owners should sit up and take notice.
Did Dr Suarez get her degree out of the back of a van in a dark alleyway, Honestly I knew more information then she did! Waste of time and money. Thanks for nothing
Dr’s are wonderful, receptionists are not. I understand you’re busy, but hanging up on clients is not appropriate. (It was a 1minute phone call).
Dr.s are wonderful and genuinely care about their patients. My husband and I having been going to the centre for over a year and often see Dr.brown, Dr.carter or Dr.kazuki.even though sometimes the doctors run late its because they are often chatting to their patients about their care and explaining it detail so we could fully understand why it happens. It is because of this approach that my husband and I often return there if we need medical treatment as they make us feel like more than a number. We have also found the receptionist to be really lovely like Sue, Linda and gerta.
Doctors are friendly and generally don't run too late, just don't mind the mediocre receptionists. Haven't seen too many there who were warm and friendly, although that would be an attitude you'd expect at a medical centre. Bring your own face mask (if that's still applicable) as they don't tell you over the phone it's necessary to wear one. Then once you're there they'll say that they tell everyone over the phone to bring a face mask (which they don't), then charge you to buy a mask there. Not a pleasant experience at all.
I rang and made an appointment which the receptionist obviously confirmed with me over the phone. On the day of the appointment we were on our were on our way and running a little late so I called to give notice. The receptionist then told me they didn't have the appointment set and we would need to make another appointment in a couple of days time.no apologies from staff there and no effort to rectify the situation.
Once we arrived I will say the receptionist was average, nothing really negative to say but nothing positive either. The doctors attitude was terrible. Felt rushed from the moment we arrived until the time we left. She did not want to listen to what we had to say and almost no questions were asked to investigate where/why she made the diagnosis she did. She may vaguely understand medicine (questionable) but hasn't got a clue about customer service.in the end we went to another doctor for a second opinion.unfortunate because this is our health providers only approved practice.
Needless to say we will be going somewhere else and paying the gap fee. If you can avoid this place best do so.
Very disappointing experience with Dr Kazuki Sumitomo.
I needed a second opinion on an antidepressant related issue and chose Dr Sumitomo because he claims mental health is one of his special interests. Right when I walked in he said something along the lines of "you're smiling, you can't be depressed", which not only can be extremely damaging to mental health patients but also shows that he has no understanding of mental illnesses whatsoever. He kept downplaying several of my diagnosed mental health issues and seemed to have no understanding of how antidepressant withdrawal works, saying that I shouldn't be experiencing any withdrawal symptoms one week after stopping the meds, when in reality antidepressant withdrawal symptoms can last much longer than the medication's flush-out period. Overall it was a very disappointing and disheartening experience, especially in the mentally fragile state that I was in at the time, which he failed to even recognise. I recommend anyone with mental health issues to see a different GP and, if possible, just get a referral to a psychiatrist and/or psychologist.
This was a few months ago but I decided to leave this review because it absolutely baffles me how someone who studied and has worked in the medical field for years can be this misinformed.
Excellent doctors and the staff. Special thanks to Dr Simon and his nurse David for always looking after me. Evening appointments are very convenient and so is the easy parking. I will be back)
I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. The Doctor (who was actually on time!) was a lovely man. Very empathetic, warm and helpful. I would definitely recommend them.
Incredibly rude & disappointing doctor. Waited and hour and a half before a doctor turned me away. Can’t believe the poor level of care this centre has for people. Never will I return, how sad.
Pretty dissapointed experience. Receptionist and Doctor are just generally disinterested, bordering on rude. If you want good customer service maybe go elsewhere.
Friendly, helpful but note on Sundays they charge $100 to see the doctor and they should have mentioned this first up.
Disgustingly rude staff. The receptionist is the worst receptionist I’ve ever seen. Never going back to this place and everyone should avoid it!
Dreadful! Definitely gone downhill over the last couple of years. I have been a regular patient at this clinic for many years but never again. My last 3 visits were terrible. The last 3 times my appointments were all over an hour late. Before my most recent appointment in June I called before leaving home to see if they were on time. I was told that yes, they were on time pretty much, and that worst case scenario it could be 5-10 minutes. All good so I get there on time. Upon checking in I was told there was one before me. This "one" came and went, then so did another 3 patients that all arrived after me. Upon asking the receptionist (already 50 minutes after my appointment time) that I had both phoned and checked in with on my arrival what was going on she was quite rude and the story kept changing. It was nothing short of disgraceful.i will NEVER return to the practice.
Visit there often and I want to say ' thankyou'to the nurse for seeing me in her lunch break as she informed me ' good service
Started out alright until the g.p's attitude changed & they weren't as good as I thought-my 2nd matter I was there for a referral & the tests were run then I was berated over my diet when she's forgotten that age old saying"an apple a day keeps the doctor away"- it wasn't necessary as I stick to as a healthy person's diet I can as a non-smoker & none of the other "nasty" things that affect your diet leading to diabetes or whatever apparently. Not going back again hence the bad attitude towards me the"nice patient" isn't right! My lifestyle's good enough as I also don't lack exercise & won't live off junk food &/or eating out either! I do my best with a medical condition where I easily am susceptible to weight gain/not losing it so my test results should reflect good health hence.
