Lota Takeaway

This is the worst fish and chips I think I've ever had. I do not understand the 4 & 5 star reviews. Typically we'd go to Pelican's Nest but we are Lota locals and thought we'd support a shop at the quieter end of the esplanade. From the moment we opened the paper, we could see that everything was overcooked, dark and burnt. There was no seasoning on anything. The crumb on the fish tasted like cardboard and the fish was tasteless. The same thing with the potato scallops and sea scallops. I was so angry I wanted to return to the store and show them but like my husband said "What's the point? They were happy to wrap that up and serve it, they know what it looks like. " So, the seagulls at Lota just got a $50 feed and I'm now hangry.

I got the burger with the cheese but they didnt have the cheese on it so they put it in but only after they forgot but when they realised they put it on so i got the cheese and the view nice when i got the cheese

I have been coming here since they first opened when I was a kid. Their quality of food and care is fantastic and they are always so friendly. My favourite fish and chip shop by far and none other have compared! I go as often as I can and the value for money is great. The fish burgers are just

The service was wonderful and they gave me extra chips so I love this place good food as well. I would 100% choose this place as my last meal before I die so yum

The warm friendly service is a bonus alongside to the quality and value that you get. We went somewhere very close by a few week prior and received quite the opposite. Tiny portions and not the warmest service. So this was a pleasant surprise in difference. Thankyou

Like this place as being vegan the owners do a awesome Vegan burgers.

Awesome service, asked for extra crispy beer battered chips and they nailed it, crumbed barramundi was juicy and had nice flavour. A great example of how classic, cost effective fish and chips can be done well.

Although i found their food to be a little pricey, the bacon & egg burger was delicious & a good size, also a generous serve of the best chips i've had in a long time.

I returned for a takeaway lunch with my family. Very generous and tasty servings at an excellent price. The crumbed fish with chips and calamari was cooked to perfection.

Great old school takeaway shop with fresh fish in the windows (Display windows in shop). Great service from the family run business 11/10. Fish, calamari and the home made scallops yum yum yum. Plenty of parks and seating at the shop and surrounding areas. Hidden gem

Fabulous and delicious. Had barramundi crumbed and calamari, chips. Sooo good and fresh, not greasy or chewy. Generous pieces of fish. Restaurant quality. Lady is so kind and friendly. They labelled all the parcels for us. Thoroughly recommend. We will be back!

Was out with the work group and we got lunch here. Lovely food, the staff are nice, they even walked over the road to where the park was to drop off a burger that they thought we ordered and ended up letting us have it regardless.

Gave 4 stars for the biggest egg and bacon roll I've had in the area. If you know of a better one local let me know. Cheers

Best fish and chip place in manly lots. Lots of chips quality fish at a realistic price. And staff were friendly and owners.

Best takeaway on the Bayside, with a Bayside Park across the road, so you can equally enjoy the area too.

A real shame, went here with high hopes after recomended by a friend. Told after ordering that the wait is 20 - 25minutes, I don't mind waiting but I like the estimate to be acurate. I ended up waiting 53 Minutes for two burgers. A real shame.
