Lota Takeaway

This is the worst fish and chips I think I've ever had. I do not understand the 4 & 5 star reviews. Typically we'd go to Pelican's Nest but we are Lota locals and thought we'd support a shop at the quieter end of the esplanade. From the moment we opened the paper, we could see that everything was overcooked, dark and burnt. There was no seasoning on anything. The crumb on the fish tasted like cardboard and the fish was tasteless. The same thing with the potato scallops and sea scallops. I was so angry I wanted to return to the store and show them but like my husband said "What's the point? They were happy to wrap that up and serve it, they know what it looks like. " So, the seagulls at Lota just got a $50 feed and I'm now hangry.

A real shame, went here with high hopes after recomended by a friend. Told after ordering that the wait is 20 - 25minutes, I don't mind waiting but I like the estimate to be acurate. I ended up waiting 53 Minutes for two burgers. A real shame.

I purchased one serve of chips and one piece of fish.what i received was a uncooked piece of crumbed fish and cold chips that were half raw on the inside.i am so disappointed in this service today as previously the food has been of an excellent quality.i'm afraid the Lota Takeaway has now lost me and my hugh family as one of their loyal customers.

The worst fish and chips we have had in Australia! 4.6/5 are you kidding me! I usually don't write negative feedbak but I had to.

Today I took my client there for lunch I got her a grilled barramundi and chips and I had the steak burger. When getting her fish out the paper was wet and I noticed that there was a layer of lettuce under her fish and it was dripping wet and her being very picky I had to try and scape of the lettuce. My burger had so much salt and pepper on the steak it wasn't very nice. I will say the service was great though.

In the old days 10-15 years ago this place was the best but these days the quality has decreased, chips were undercooked and fish was bland no lemon and hardly any salt

Gave 4 stars for the biggest egg and bacon roll I've had in the area. If you know of a better one local let me know. Cheers

Food was okay and prices were good. But the wait was very long, at least 30min to get food. Also none of the staff are wearing masks, only one check in sign and it's hard to find. Not a particularly safe environment in the day and age.

Fair serving of chips but could have been cooked more for crunch. Crumbed cod fish was tasty but fillet was cut rather thin. That by itself would've bothered us but the Pluto pups were undercooked and soggy, both my children refused to eat them.

Just ok. I w r less and Better quality.there is a girl that serves that is not really excited to be there. I would not say great customer service from her.

Lots take away is my sons favorite place they do an amazing steak sandwich and service is always friendly

The owners and staff are lovely and they have the best hamburger with the lot. It's old fashion value for money and great service, the only takeaway I buy from in the area.

I got the burger with the cheese but they didnt have the cheese on it so they put it in but only after they forgot but when they realised they put it on so i got the cheese and the view nice when i got the cheese

I have been coming here since they first opened when I was a kid. Their quality of food and care is fantastic and they are always so friendly. My favourite fish and chip shop by far and none other have compared! I go as often as I can and the value for money is great. The fish burgers are just

The service was wonderful and they gave me extra chips so I love this place good food as well. I would 100% choose this place as my last meal before I die so yum

The warm friendly service is a bonus alongside to the quality and value that you get. We went somewhere very close by a few week prior and received quite the opposite. Tiny portions and not the warmest service. So this was a pleasant surprise in difference. Thankyou

Like this place as being vegan the owners do a awesome Vegan burgers.

Awesome service, asked for extra crispy beer battered chips and they nailed it, crumbed barramundi was juicy and had nice flavour. A great example of how classic, cost effective fish and chips can be done well.

Although i found their food to be a little pricey, the bacon & egg burger was delicious & a good size, also a generous serve of the best chips i've had in a long time.
