JB Hi-Fi Chermside reviews
55 So today I walked into the JB store for an issue about a frozen screen and loss of display. Spoke to a bloke called Liam. After 3 hours of back and forth got told even though under warranty, they can't exchange the phone. They need a credit approval from Google to do so. After chatting to Google on support, we are informed JB needs no such thing. As it is covered under warranty. When approached, Liam turns around to say he believes I caused the damage. That he can see an indent on the corner where the problem occured and that the screen may have chipped. He is not a technician and has not had the phone checked. While I have photos that there is no chip on the screen or even a scratch. I even removed the guard to check. Happy to share the photos if they contest my claim. Now I come back home, not only process the refund with Google right away who were more than happy to after a 5 minutes chat. Absolute red flag when you cheat a customer out right and give wrong information to avoid doing the right thing.
So the story continues-
I head to JB Kedron and they hand me a brand new piece off their shelves in minute, process the refund and send me back home with a smile.
We came here to purchase a Go Pro Hero 12 ($594) and wanting to price match with Officework which had it for $548.
We approached the guy with a moustache that stands on the left side upon entry ask wanted to price match. Yes, he said we can until we told him we have $400 JB HIFI GIFT CARD to use along with cash for rest. He asked if Officework accepted the JB HIFI gift card and obviously, we said no… JB HIFI gift card should only work at JB HIFI? Right?
This is where it got funny.
He said because Officework doesn’t accept Jb Hifi gift card means Jb Hifi won’t too and if we wanted to use it…. And he can only offer us $10 off aka $584.
This guy is such a joke honestly. Walked off at his ridiculous response. I paid $400 for $400 gift card to spend. Not $10 for $400.
Don’t sell gift card if you don’t accept it with cash on a price match. This guy is either inexperienced or your price match policy is a joke.
I spent 20 minutes in the shop waiting for someone to give some help and felt totally ignored. This was on a weekday, at 3pm. When I did finally get hold of a staff member, they gestured in the direction of where the item might be; apparently it was too much trouble to take over to where the items were, so I ended up leaving without the product and fairly annoyed. I would suggest focusing on customers and trying to engage them when they arrive at the store and to ask if they need any assistance.
Worst Customer Service Obviously They Didn’t Want My Money So Walked Out And Purchased Eles Whete They Missed Out On A Very Big Sale
Not very helpful over the phone when I had a quick enquiry about a product before I head over there to make a purchase (Gaming department). JB Employee wasn't very interested in answering any questions at all.
I was hoping for a better customer experience as I choose to buy in store and this makes the decision easier to go elsewhere and just order it online.
Matt in the tech section is disgustingly unprofessional and should have training in customer service again.
Over crowded and whoever decided that having the checkout at the back of the store is stupid that's cram everything at the front of the store so you have to squeeze pass people and dvd stands really annoying
Staff are rude and unhelpful. My adult daughter tried to buy a 1200 phone bet wanted to ask a few simple questions beforehand. After ignoring her as if invisible, when she finally got someones attention they were rude and unhelpful. I think you get judged on how much money you look like you have. When I go there, staff fall all over to help. Very judgmental and shallow. I buy online now. I'll check out what they have but you can always get a better price from eBay or Alibaba.
Some staff very rude, I politely asked to speak with the guy in Games etc, to check if they had stock and as i waited on hold for 3 to 5mins the add kept saying about price matching etc so i asked if they would match hervey norman, straight out nope, im like ahhh ok thanks but il go to kedron, who happily helped! Thanks JB. NOT
If you want sales staff to avoid you, come here. I could have bought a couple of items, instead went directly to the Bose store and Harvey Norman because trying to get the attention of a sales person was painful. Come for your everyday items here or when you've done your research. Don't start your buying experience here.
Do not buy.
These idiots took my money then a week later they tell me the product is unavailable.
Another week to return my money.
Why is it ok to sell a product you don’t Evebt have?
No respect for its customers.
BEWARE
Pathetic waited for two hours no one helped me. After contacting so many staff members one guy offered help then he said it's not my department and don't know much about products so we left empty hand
Terrible customer service. Came for the black Friday sale, very less staff. Waited so long, even though the sale staff saw me waiting he was just ignoring. Had to chase them and they were not willing to help much than just answering a yes or no question. Did not show any act to help get us good price even though I was willing to pay a deposit. I was told even if I pay the deposit I won't be getting that price past the sale date. May be it's just that staff.
TV I was looking to purchase was in stock, however had to wait over 5 minutes for assistance. In order to get assistance had to chase after the 5th employee to walk past and ignore us. Treated with condescending attitude and made to feel like an inconvenience. Decided to purchase TV directly from Sony instead. Would not recommend shopping here for anything over $50
Stood for 10 minutes looking for someone to help with Nintendo Switch products. Big table in front of games and any eye contact with staff had them turn around and walk away. One lady holding Nintendo products moved to the xbox aisle, put down the stock and walked away. Maybe more focus on customers and less dreaming about being the next Joel from Amity Afflication may help. We purchased a Switch and 3 games from a competitor.
Called this morning to check if jb hi-fi match the price with another shops. I was advised that yes they do.turn up this afternoon only to be told by the girl at the fit bit section, she can't match the price with officeworks eBay store. ($70! That's big difference on the fit bit) called officeworks store and they happily matched the price.she was happy for me to go to officeworks as she refused to match it.worse expirience ever.won't shop there again, better customer service everywhere else.
The hard constant upselling is too much. These guys are tricksters and would put used car salesmen to shame.
Minus 2 stars because when I went in for a wireless charger the sales dude indicated my options were all in the lower shelves and around $80-$100. Lo & behold in the upper shelves there was a row of wireless chargers on sale for $10
Sneaky sales tactics = not cool
Minus another star because they have less range than the Kedron store up the road
Had me waiting 10 mins just to be sent to the other side of the store for another 10 min wait and the store was not that busy
Good staff. Some need to talk a little slower and not be so keen to move to the next sale. Also be aware that some people are actually first time computer buyers. Apart from that very helpful
