Animal Welfare League Qld reviews
61 Unhelpful and careless staff.
Animals up for adoption, that have no vet work done yet. Tried adopting, but as I couldn't come back on the exact day they wanted me to collect, they wouldn't hold, not even if I paid. Refused to help. Useless. I thought it was "about the animals"
If I had paid and planned to come back the next day, to give the animal a terrific home, what's the problem.
I adopted my cat from there 3 years ago. Nice people who really love animals. If I ever want to expand my family I will be coming back.
The staff are very pleasant and very helpful. I have adopted two cats at different times with no trouble. If you are looking to adopt a pet please visit them.
The middle aged overweight lady with long brown hair was extremely standoffish and unenthusiastic to the point it was unbelievable.she served me on saturday the 18/4 to adopt a kitten abby.i actually have never been served by someone who appears to hate their job that much.also, love it how they make you get out in and out the car to open the gate yourself while there is 3 staff members sitting in the office about 20 metres away.appalling customer service.adopting an animal should be a joyous experience that woman needs to be gotten rid of, in this climate im sure there is a lot of people who would appreciate a job.
Very clean animal enclosures, animals for adoption are very clean, staff are excellent, staff allowed me and my boyfriend to hold the cats and kittens, the animals had times out of there enclosures and the staff answered all my questions with an easy going friendly approachable attitude.
Cute animals. Shame it's illegal to have 100 cats or I'd be there every week scooping up the ugly ones.
I love that u can go and play with and pat the cats! It generally means u know its temperament right away! I adopted a cat from here 2 weeks ago he came right up to us meowing and smooching and i knew he was the one for us! They were so lovely and and as im very neurotic I've been calling them on and off about any little thing health wise and i find them very calm not remotely condescending for a first time cat owner, extremely helpful in person and over the phone if i wasn't renting i would get another cat highly recomend
One of the cleanest Animal Aid shelters I've ever seen and one of the cheapest.
If you're looking to adopt a pet I highly recommend coming here.
Caring, devoted, passionate staff & volunteers. The animals look very loved & very looked after.
Don’t stop what you’re doing guys - the world needs more organisations like this.
Not for Profit

The staff were so happy to assist me. I came late in the afternoon, the staff were still happy to show me the cats & kittens. Unfortunately, Ginger wasn't there, however, I am sure if he is left there, I will be notified!
Animals are in a great place here while they wait for their forever homes.
Amazing passionate staff & volunteers. The worlds a little better of a place because of this organisation.
The animals are sweethearts, but some of the workers maybe a little partial on some people so need to relax or be abit nicer to people coming in to look for their forever friend.
I always look for rescue dogs or pups in a lifetime if dog ownership. The staff are helpful and follow up afterwards. The dog wash service is good too.
Really nice people! I lost my pup and didn’t have time to pick him up in the week they give you before you have to surender them, so they gave me a extra 3days
We came here over the weekend to check out some dogs. Noone was manning the place to make some queries about the dogs at the shelter. Thete were others interested as well but left since we couldn't find any staff at all.
My dog didn't like it. Which is to be expected. But after I paid the fees they even gave me 2 bags of dog food!
The best is to get there early, before 2pm, kids if all ages are welcome to see and pet the cats!
I took a 6 week old Male kitten to surrender bc my elderly neighbor was unable to care for it and I would of loved to of kept him but I already have two pets and living in a small one bedroom unit wasn't enough space, AWL couldn't house this poor little feller right away but they did get me to fill out a form so if a spot became available in there shelter they would call me straight away and they did but, I had already found a forever home for this little baby boy and he's very happy and cared for HAPPY ENDING.
Professional and super friendly staff. How can you fault a place that'll let you play with a bunch of beautiful cats and adopts them out to families for only $20-175? We got our new kitten yesterday and could NOT be happier!
