Animal Welfare League Qld reviews
61A very neat, tidy and clean animal shelter. If I was looking for a dog or cat to adopt, this would be the place to go. Very good vibes.
If someone adopt 3months old kitten Morgan on 2021 Dec and
perhaps would like to surrender please contact me first because that time
my kitten Mabel and Morgan were there together seems they are family
so I would like to adopt
Called up having found a neglected cat. Where the RSPCA were useless, these guys lent me a cat carrier, and took the sweet little soul in straight away. Very proactive, and lovely staff.
Great facility, staff, and lovely animals to be rescued. Smooth process and documentation all emailed to you upon completion of the adoption.
I've had Fang for two to three years. He needs a friend who has FIV. Also he gets along with Hades my bearded dragon. He needs a buddy so as soon as there is an FIV cate would love to adopt them
I adopted a cute little female cat from this place today her name is Carmen and all the staff there were very lovely and welcoming and made my adopting experience really easy and memorable I’m so happy I found this animal shelter all the cats seemed very healthy and happy, I’m so glad this rehoming centre genuinely cares about there animals and aren’t just in it for a quick buck I couldn’t recommend this place more 1000/10
Went in today to adopt a dog, after struggling with other rescue places being difficult and unhelpful, Taylor at warra animal rehoming was straight away able to help, letting us meet and greet a beautiful dog. Going above and beyond, allowing us to adopt amazing Toni (prev.miss Pippy). Taylor at Warra Animal rehoming
Centre was lovely and kind, super informative and personable, letting us know everything about Toni and just making the adopting process super easy.
Shame you have to be put under scrutiny to volunteer& have to pay $35 induction fee. Iv unfortunately had to bring stay cats there& felt the staff were blaming me. In future i will pay a vet to put these poor animals to sleep cos warra is awful to deal with.
If there was the option for no stars that would be the go. I want to warn others and can’t stress enough as to how we have been treated today 13/03/23.
Our dog dug under the fence in yesterday afternoon’ storm and took the bolt. He ended up being handed into the shelter however today trying to get our dog back -
The older lady with glasses is a compulsive liar and gaslighter that we have ever come in contact with in life. Lied to me over the phone TWICE about fees, then lied to my husband to his face when he tried to get the dog back the first time.
When we finally sorted out the payment price (they were trying to over charge us with some non-existent “shelter fee” (while blaming council for not doing their job and advertising it) - Aaron asked to see the amount on the eftpos machine to see if he was going to be charged the correct amount of $39.40 - the lady had the nerve to call hubby an ar*ehole at 2.10pm, then when told there’s no need for that, flatly denied calling him one- all because of asking to check the eftpos amount? ! WTAF
Then demanded he “wait over there” whilst looking for back up, (pointing in the direction of where the dogs get held). After he got the dog into the car, they decided to take photos of his license plates as he was leaving.
All I can say is that they are VERY unpleasant, and extremely UNHELPFUL with a lying staff member. I kept getting giggled at over the phone and obviously they take pleasure out of ripping people off, taking the pi** out of the situation and causing nothing but stress, which they seemed to be pleased about.
I hope to take this incident further.
Be very aware.
Very quick when taking in a wandering rooster we had found. Thank you for looking after lost and homeless pets
Such an easy pleasurable experience to adopt our new addition
Knowledgeable about the animals needs and limitations without being overbearing to let the animal gel with us and our other dog
We are so pleased to have kobie as part of our family now
Got my new best friend from here. She had been taken great care of for 3 months. They took time to make sure she would love us as much as we would love her.
I am a cat fosterer and I love what this place does for all its fur friends. I totally recommend becoming a foster helper it extremely rewarding and they pass on info when your little fur babies get adopted. Such a worthy cause. I’m glad I can help out.
Not as big as the RSPCA at wacol, but they do a great job and their dogs and cats are just as needing of a loving home as any other.
Not only did the lovely ladies at reception squeeze us in at the last minute, but they went above and beyond to get the paperwork just as I needed it. Big carpark, with a ramp up to reception. There is a sign that says if you are having difficulties, leave your cat in the car and they will fetch it up for you.
Go to AWL over the RSPCA. AWL are honest and up front if an animal has illnesses or needs extra care. You also get to interact with the animals at the Bracken Ridge facility. All the volunteers genuinely care and love the animals there. You can also donate goods and food directly to this campus.
My dog was abducted and was taken here, I called them at 2: 30pm saying I’m 2 minutes away and they said no, they were packing up for the day come on Sunday. Then charged me an for the extra gays boarding. Purposely misleading me. When i picked her up, she was soaked in urine and had diarrhoea. I think monetising my dog is unjust and holding her an extra day in filthy conditions for no reason is not how the council intends the service to be run. Further to this, AWLQ reported me to council and i had a $300 fine.
Having recently lost our much loved cat, he was 16 yrs old, our house seemed empty without him so we decided to adopt another cat.
We visited AWLQ Warra & found our perfect pet in Melvin, he is settling in quite well thanks to all the feedback from the volunteers who were so friendly & super helpful with their advice. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to offer a forever home to these beautiful animals.
Brillant they saved a stray mumma cat who was very poorly who had 3 yoiung kittens I built up her courage and she finally trusted me. My lovely neighbour took me with mumma and her babies ro them. They found forever homes for the kittens and I asked them when she's well enough that I would love to keep her so it took 3 mths they spaded her took rotten teeth out and fatten her up and than I got the call to come and pick her up, so i adopted her$50 and I donated $50 to say thankyou to these beauitful people who worked magic in her they also gave me a cat carry, some toys and a soft blanket for nothing.and she and I sre the best of mates and am so grateful to have her. By the way I call her "Lady"because that's excately who she is. So if you find stray cats or dogs please take them hear as they do there best to find them firever home's wounderful amazing staff
Amazing staff members wanting to help! Recently adopted a cat from here and they could’ve have made the process any less stressful for us.
Superb support in rehoming our beautiful cat
