Renner Springs Desert Inn reviews
52Has a lot more to offer than the standard Roadhouse. Really nice surroundings, good menu and lovely staff
One of my favourite outback places to stop, numerous times. Lovely outlook near lagoon. Great outback pub, good meals. Amenities are always clean with plenty of hot water. I always stop here to & fro on my Darwin roadtrip. Just wish Telstra would work that region as it's an Optus only region, but not the Desert Inn's fault.
We stopped in recently and was very disappointed! Been through here 4 years ago and received the a much more friendly service service then compared to now. We needed the toilet, had to pay $2 to use the toilet then had to pay $4.60 for a coffee I had to make myself! We were made to not feel welcome, felt that we were more a bother than being a customer. We went on to somewhere else to stay.
Alan is friendly and will go out of his way to help you. Our stay here was enjoyable and we love that the water here is Spring Water. So fillup you water bottles.
A nice stop between Alice and Darwin. Chickens, ducks and geese around which makes it an interesting stop for kids
The place is absolutely out dated, quite neglected and lack of maintenance. I spent there one night a day ago. Very friendly staff.
Something to add is the website misleading, the reality is completely different. So please do not take that information into account
Most expensive camp site on our trip, no camp kitchen, very friendly staff, tasty and good value breakfast.
Motel room could've been cleaner but the bed was comfy and lots of good hot water in the shower
A good place to stay overnight on the way to Darwin from Alice Spring. If you are using Optus, you have mobile reception and 3g Internet here.
Good spot to stop on the way north. Friendly staff and ice cold beer.
Rooms a bit dated but comfy beds. Food was very good and well priced.
It was quite busy when we stayed so it must be popular.
Stayed in a room which was very basic. I understand the location is remote and did not expect any luxury, however I thought $130 for a motel room that would have been considered outdated 30 years ago is a bit much. The cleanliness of the room was average at best and it is not insect proof. There is no way to air the room as there are no insect screens on the door or windows. The only way to cool the room is a very old and noisy box air conditionier. None of this would be a big deal if the room was priced accordingly. I think they should consider improving the rooms and service or alternatively reduce their prices.
This place is old and tired, in need of an upgrade. We could see through our curtains they were so threadbare and I’m amazed the sheets on our bed didn’t get ripped as they were as thin as tissue paper. The meal in the restaurant was microwaved and still cold. The staff were friendly enough. When you have been driving all day in the outback you tend to put up with second rate facilities, they wouldn’t get away with it closer to competition. The windmill was lovely.
