Renner Springs Desert Inn reviews
52I have stayed here many times. Great food & friendly staff. The accommodation here is very good also
Rooms definitely need upgrading. Very outdated. Staff were very helpful and friendly. No telstra but their wifi worked well
Word of Mouth is Everything
The Renner Springs Desert Inn pub and dining area, both inside and out, is quite ok, as is the pool area. There is no ice, or beer on tap available, we heard the barman say.
However, the camping ground and surrounds, leaves a lot to be desired. Powered sites at $40 per night are much too close together (no room for an awning) and the whole camping area and surrounds, is messy and disorganised. It is a most unpleasant place to stay.
We, and our neighbour, lost power, and when we went to the office to politely inform them, there was no empathy or apology. There was, however, a criticism that we are using too much power. There had been no warning about limiting power usage when we checked in.
There is no wifi or Telstra reception, though there are two phone booths.
With a bit of care and attention this place could be great, and could be somewhere travellers recommend instead of warning others to steer clear of.
I found this caravan park to be very unclean. The staff was useless, and the food was nothing to write home about.won't be coming back
Highly recommend staying at this lovely little place. Wonderful 17m lap pool, helpful staff (eg heated our home cook meals for us, helped with car troubles, provided advice on local attractions), clean rooms, peacocks, quiet restful nights and epic landscapes. Little gem in the outback!
They just had a flood through so it's unfair to judge. It's a road house room in the middle of Australia. Food was surprisingly good and the big pool very welcoming after a long hot drive. I would go back
Food was great (not sure if that will last as the managers changed hands the day we checked out). Unfortunately, rooms were a tad overpriced considering that were extremely outdated and infested with roaches and ants
Pretty terrible, it is a case that their web site is nothing like reality. The caravan park fees were so overpriced. Some beautiful parks were $10 less per night.
The Staff are epic,
Caprice, Katie and Troy you guys totally made our stay ️ so nice to see lovely people in such a small part of the world. Even though they were working so hard they still had plenty of time to share the hospitality! Beds were great, food was high standards for a roadhouse thanks we will be back to see you again!
The rooms are very dated, overpriced (quoted $140, then $165, the room next door paid $155‽) along with frayed towels. The attitude of the owner/manager leaves alot to be desired, in the wrong job, drive past, go to Hi-Inn, Dunmarra or Daly waters, fairly priced, great service.
It all started in the winter of 1989. A cold morning snowed the area but up ahead I could see a figure I approached him and he said he was Killer Keemstar we went to the nearby renner springs motel so Keemstar could complete his murder. I revisited the motel and found the same bloodstains still on the carpet there. I had a nice shower before I went to the pub and ate my depression away with a nice meal of fish and chips top quality would visit again
Good spot for an overnight stop. The sites are small very uneven and dusty. We were right down near the lagoon so had quite a walk to the amenities which were adequate. The showers needed a good clean there were half used cakes of soap everywhere and the drains were full of hair. We didn’t go to the entertainment as there was a sign saying no dogs allowed even in the beer garden
We stayed here in one of the rooms - $155 for a couple. Thought they must have made a mistake.no. Very very very basic. Plush towels though:)
Dinner took forever and when it arrived the rissoles were dry and somewhat inedible. Unfortunately accommodation is very limited in this part of the country and they seem to be able charge what they like. No Telstra coverage but they do have 2 Telstra public phones of which only one works.
I would describe Renner Springs as a dump site. Absolutely need to spend money on upgrades. Prefer to stay on freebie by the highway. Would not recommend this place to anybody.
Absolutely awesome to find a nice motel in the middle of nowhere, really made to feel welcome, AC in the rooms work great, food is well priced and tasty, friendly service, my only issue was the shower, it would have been easier to have 5 blokes standing around and spitting on me, but other than that, absolutely awesome
This stop is primarily as motel rooms as the sites are a bit tired. They do have grass, but are a distance from the amenities - which are relatively new and tidy. The 17mt pool is beautiful, but a bit cold this time of year. Entertainer Scott Dann plays here most nights, so we'll check it out. Staff very polite and helpful.
Great location on our way to Daly Waters.loved meeting Caprice & the owner, Christine. She & her husband Alan have been running the place for 14 years.
They have the best pool on A87 hands down!
Amenities are under renos and a bit far away from the vans, but 'ok'.
Stopped for a quick snack, best cake I’ve actually ever had it was so moist and fresh! Defo worth stopping just for a quick slice o cake:)
New owners have made great changes, food excellent, drink prices very reasonable, the springs come with 2 wandering geese and the pool! WOW
A bit exy, no phone service or WiFi unlike other stops along this highway. But nice spot, good showers & friendly staff.
