Nice spot to stop and relax before continuing on your trip to Alice, staff very friendly and helpful had a great drive through site, amenities do need a bit of upgrading

Clean, comfortable cabin. Staff was very friendly & helpful. We had a quick dip in the pool with the kids, which was nice after the long drive. We had pizza’s for dinner, which were surprisingly good. In combination with the live guitar music it was a fantastic stop. We left a couple of our own towels outside to dry and only our daughters unicorn towel was stolen (kinda strange - the wetsuit was still there), but we were warned to leave nothing outside - so that’s on us.

Stayed 2 nights in our motorhome, locked all our possessions inside for safety. Awoke 1.30am to find a perpetrator absconding out the door leaving their mobile phone in the rush. Seems our locked door was either jimmed or lock picked. Total proffessionals. Unfortunately too late to stop items of value & cash gone. Other guests had their cars broken into and goods stolen. Police attended and statement given in the morning. We left town early the following day. No hope given of finding our possessions. To date (5 days later) no acknowledgement from the management that anything occured or enquiring on our wellbeing. From what we've been told the van park in town has a high rate of security. Can't confirm as won't be returning to Tennant Creek. Special mention to Jan - night manager who was great in a time of need 1.45am

We needed a powered site for an overnight stay in our van after a long day on the road.
At booking we were advised not to leave anything outside at night, and also not to leave anything in the car as local youth crime is out of control.
Apparently kids will steal what they can and will smash car windows to steal what they can see.

While that might be a fact, and a warning about it was warranted, it is also the parks responsibility to do what they can to make guests safe, and to feel safe.

There were 2 or 3 security patrols (at least 1 by local police) through the night with the patrol car cruising through the park shining a spot light here and there. To kids up to no good I think they would consider this 'sport' to hide from the glare of the light - which would be easy - even for me.

There is essentially no perimeter fence worth talking about meaning casual unauthorized entry could be achieved by anyone at any mobility level up to and including an elderly person with a walking frame.

There are no motion sensed lights in the park area that come on at night when movement is detected.
There are no security cameras.

I don't think it is enough to just warn about the security risk and then for park management / ownership to do nothing preventative to minimize the crime.

The pool area was good and a refreshing dip was welcome.
The camp kitchen was ok but the outside BBQ had no lid and therefore exposed to the elements and no real cleaning materials available to make it usable.

The amenities area was also ok - a bit dated but still ok.

In summary, my advice would be, if you can plan your travel so you do not need to stay in Tennant Creek at all, that's what I would do if travelling through here again.

We were genuinely concerned that something was going to be broken that could not be fixed in Tennant Creek and create a major problem for us. My wife slept in the car and I in the van trying to protect our things.

Neither of us really slept.

We are now in Alice Springs where the park has 8 foot perimeter fences with razor wire on top. The park is well lit and a security code required to come through a huge front gate at night.
Things can be done to defend against unwanted invasion, it comes down to desire and effort.

Lovely and accomodating staff, nice to have a fuel station and a pool, otherwise the cabins are nothing to write home about. If the showers were 30cm deeper so the curtain didn't stick to you/you didn't bump the faucet off, the air con went warmer than 23°c and the wifi worked, I would rate it higher.

Duty manager Sascha was really helpful, friendly and welcoming. We managed to leave an item behind and she helped return it to us as we weren't coming back through Tennant creek again. Would highly recommend.

As per other comments what a gem of a park in a town that is judged leave it at that.park is clean secure and out of town.hosts are accommodating and let us look at the facilities first.out of all the travelling we have done this park is deserving of 5 stars and we reccomend it.clean spacious cabins not cheap but you are in the middle of no where, drive thru bays for vans with plenty of shade.grass, bitumen roads a great shop like a mini woolies to buy supplies and they prepare simple food also

Excellent location. Friendly service. My husband paid $179 for a deluxe cabin as we didn’t want to sleep in the campervan due to it being a hot night. Apparently that was the only cabin available due to the races being on in Tennant Creek this weekend. Once I got inside and saw the place I wish we had stayed in a powered site because the cost of what we had for the night seemed far to steep!

Great park well off the main hwy, only $31 for our powered site, single pensioner. Well stocked shop, as no supermarket in town.

A gem in the heart of the NT! Stopped at the Outback Caravan Park for a few nights, had an excellent drive through site, well shaded and close to all of the parks amenities! Had a few drinks at the beer garden while listening to some amazing live music! Had an insightful chat with the lovely woman who ran the park about the town and some local spots to check out, she was extremely helpful! I can definitely recommend this park and the town to fellow travellers to stop and explore! The sunset was surely one I will remember!

This place was nice and quiet. I stayed in a cabin. The bed was awesome after being stuck in the car for a day. Nice hot water and the aircon was cold. What more could you ask for?

Stayed here for one night twice in July 2019. Staff was great, very helpful and friendly.it was during school holidays so very busy.
The powered sites are good, clean and amenities well looked after, clean and tidy.
Happy hour and entertainment in the beer garden was great.
All up, it's a well run park and we would go back again.

Although the facility is a bit old, but considering the location and the cleanness, you cant find a better place to spend a night in Tennant Creek.
