Outback Caravan Park reviews
63Pulled in after driving from Pine Creek, easy to set up van, quiet, went to sleep at 7.30 through to 3.00am watched a bit of news then back to sleep until 8.00am so very comfortable all in all.
Very secure site with security gates, and nice room.
Pool could have been maintained a little better, and some minor repairs to rooms (flyscreen on door) could improve.
I still recommend this location for travellers.
Rooms clean and tidy offers air-conditioning, fridge, microwave and coffee making facilities.
Good security with gates close at 6pm each day.
I found Very friendly and helpful staff and being a few streets from main highway not a great deal of traffic noise.
Reasonable price
Small cabin but clean and in a very nice caravan park, secure parking good value for a one night stopover.
Quiet out of the way, older cabins but self contained. Very good professional check in and customer service. Tennant Creek town shuttered up like a riot zone. Refer to the NT Police blog for latest reported shenanigans.
A nice, tidy camp with clean facilities. The staff were excellent. It was off the highway, so there was no noise. The security seemed good, and you felt safe.
I was pleasantly surprised at the lovely room we had in a container! Beautifully cool on arrival, and clean and neat. Good location, friendly staff and service. Only one chair though, for the two of us (we had to take turns! ;) Would stay again. Lovely park to walk around (to make up our steps for the day!), with some interesting painted trees!
This is the second one night stay here in the last two weeks.
Staff are very helpful and polite, it will look great once they have all the updates completed, we would definitely stay here again should we come back this way.
A lovely park. Well set out and away from the main drag, so lovely and quiet. The best hot shower we've had in nearly 3 weeks!
No bar this year. Dog friendly which is good.
Bit rundown. No tropical gardens, and the shower floors are peeling, At $52 a night for a powered site its a bit woeful.
Very Nice an friendly staff.
We had flat wheel right in front of the office. And they were so friendly and helped us with the change.
So Thanks a lot to the two guys.
From the two girls from Germany.
Call up to enquire about a pet friendly room and got told that yes it is pet friendly but your dog has to stay in the car through out the day and over night?
Do not recommend if you’re traveling with your fur baby’s.
Thank you to the staff at the Outback Caravan Park for making our stay pleasant. We were in a campervan and it was only a one night stopover for us and it was great for that purpose. We felt safe and secure there with the caravan park being will protected with a secure fence all the way around. Park security might sound unusual for some travellers, but it is quite important in many outback towns and OCP did well in this regard. The facilities were good for the outback. Keeping them clean is a hard task and travellers can't expect the same level of cleanliness as found in many beachside caravan parks. It is my understanding that the caravan park is working hard at improving facilities and the way it is run since changing ownership.
We would stay there again when in Tennant Creek.
I stayed at the Outback Caravan Park recently in a Standard Queen cabin and was pleasantly surprised! The park is neat and tidy, and my cabin was spotlessly clean, with a comfortable bed and great air-conditioning - a must when visiting Tennant Creek! The grounds were lovely with trees and garden that is currently being re-vamped too, and the park was peaceful at night. Especially enjoyed visiting nearby attraction Lake Maryann and the birdlife that reside there. Will be back next time I stay in Tennant Creek.
Met Steve here and had several discussions with him on the surrounding area.
A wealth of knowledge and a passion for the ongoing development of the area.
He has developed a Great Wall around the park full off information and photos.and is a must see.
Steve you were right about the Devils Marbles a really spiritual experience. And you do feel like you are being hugged by the surrounding hills as you go down into the area.
Glad to have met you.

This place was nice and quiet. The staff are always friendly. I come here often. I stayed in a cabin las time. The bed was awesome after being stuck in the car for a day. Nice hot water and the aircon was cold. What more could you ask for?
Great park. Shady trees and grass. Clean amenities. Friendly, hard working staff.
All they have to do is take it out of Tennant Creek and it would be perfect.
Not much shade in the unpowered area, however the amenities were clean (with a shower in 1 block awaiting repairs). Got caught in a downpour, the manager provided a mop to clean our flooded camper - thank you
Nice park with lots of space for bigger caravans. Very helpful manager, good facilities and lots of trees and plants around. Great park.
Great spot, close to everything. Friendly staff and great history around park walls. We felt safe at night no problems, stayed 4 nights. Police patrol around during the night. This is a must do town. We had fun feeding the kittens that roam at night. The music each afternoon is entertaining also with a little bar. We had a great stay. Thanks.
