Novotel Darwin CBD

The location was central and the entrance and bar area was very colourful and promoted a tropical atmosphere.
We had a standard room which was reasonably comfortable however the bathroom badly needs updating and the entire unit was rather rundown. Even the tea/ coffee provisions were barely adequate. On contacting reception to request tea bags (the room had 2 Earl Grey tea bags not to everyones taste) i was advised the housekeeper had left for the day.
I would not recommend this particular Novotel as it compares unfavourably with other Novotels I had stated in previously.

I tried for 2 full days to contact this hotel
To book phone lines drop out. Finally booked my stay and then my flights were canceled by the airlines then the problems continued
I tried for 3 full days to speak with someone about rescheduling my stay
twice I was promised the duty manager would call but 2 weeks later I’m still waiting for that return call.
I called I emailed I called Accor I called the hotel
Communication is impossible

I lost 2 nights accommodation and at just under $400 per night the customer service is non existent

Upon entering, we were greeted by Kristy, who made the check in process most enjoyable, and after a short wait we were in our room. We encountered a few issues but once they came to the attention of Duty managers Simon and Edward, and General Manager, Chris Naylor they was very quickly ironed out. We would also like to personally thank, Ekana, Delia and Gem for their services in looking after us at breakfast and dinner. The Territory Barra from the dinner menu is something no guest should miss.

Nice location right opposite the water and easy walking distance to the CBD and the waterfront area. Rooms are comfortable and have aircon and fans. Internet is a bit slow. Breakfast is decent and was included in the room rate. 24 hr check in was helpful since we arrived at 3am. Nespresso machine in the room was a welcome bonus.

This hotel had gone above and beyond with what I had to deal with re covid issues in NT and almost having to cancel my flight and hotel. Snaptravel wouldn't change my room date booking so I called the hotel directly and thank God they were so flexible even when my flight got cancelled and I had to stay another night, they didn't charge me over they let me check out well past the due time in the morning, the staff all very kind and helpful even to print out my kakadu trip ticket. The room I was in looked brand new with the best view of the ocean. Cleaning staff always re topped all items in the bathroom and in coffee/tea area even had to vacuum up a wine glass I accidentally broke, they didn't charge me for my accident so I just had to send this place out a fantastic rating. Food is amazing and bar has a unique green ant gin that you must try!
All up just a big thank you to Simon and all the crew! I highly recommend this place

I had my 70th birthday party at this hotel recently. Shaneal, the Novotel Business Development Manager organised the event and it went perfectly. Working with Shaneal was a wonderful experience. She provided excellent service and advice on how best to achieve the ultimate outcome. The platters of food were tasty and well presented. Simon helped us on the night getting us to our rooms. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. Reception and bar staff were also very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel for any event you may have, and even just for a great get away as the rooms are great. Ros Miller

The rooms are dated and not very clean. However, it was a reasonable price and they let me check in early. The staff were polite and friendly.

Pros - very close to the action, an easy stroll everywhere, and the Bicentennial Park out the front is nice. The main lobby area is nice & relaxing, and good for a quiet drink. The TVs in the room were very modern. The food at the bar and Zest was good. And the shower water pressure was excellent, although a very old shower head.

Cons - The room I had was is in need of a touch up, and needed Foxtel sports channels like other Novotels I stayed at recently. Or at least an app to login into, as Foxtel doesn’t do screencast. I think there is also a shortage of staff, which I think makes life harder on those staff already here, but they were very good, especially Shuraz at the bar. Also, as an Accor member, I didn’t receive my complimentary water and I had to ask for my welcome drink. Not a biggie, but this is the first time that’s happened.

The rooms are very dirty (we moved but the next room was just as bad as the first) hotel dated and in need of TLC.
Poorly planned views to the ocean. The windows are so small and do not open.
My husband had a burger from the bar that made him very I'll.

A little dated in places. Our mattress is soft but the location and amenities can't be faulted.

Forgot to add to my review, upon checking the room before we left, my partner found a used tampon under the bed! It wasn't mine, so that is absolutely disgusting. Links into my previous review where Icommented on the poor standard of cleaning. Also the downstairs ladies toilets near the pool.one of the wasn't working and was almost overflowing with numerous vile poos! Surely someone should have put an out of order sign on the door?

Very disappointing, room wasn't ready for check in. Didn't want to take thongs off as carpet was revolting. Noisey aircon. Bar has cocktail signs but Didn't do them. Not worth the money that was paid

Not what we expected in in regard to Novotel quality. Shabby at best.
Pros: Convenient to town, Friendly staff.
Cons: Run down appearance, Rooms not well maintained, Courtyard very unappealing and unkempt.

Not enough lighting in the bathroom and had a real difficult time to get my morning shave.
Exhaust fan in the bathroom didn’t work and everything covered with mist after shower. Had to wait sometime to see my self on the mirror
The restaurant had near nothing for vegetarians

The staff were so helpful and friendly. Location is good, HINT, don't pay to upgrade to water view, it's not worth it. It was clean, housekeeping doing a good job, but maintenance is definitely needed, our room had two water leaks from the wet season rain. Staff fussed, did what they could, towels offering room change etc, but the Novotel chain needs to look at maintenance.

Amazing! Worth it, close to everything around the CBD. Walking distance to pubs and restaurants. Safe to walk around!

Hotel looks aged and the room air conditioning doesn't seem to be that effective at room 125. Perhaps it is because the windows are not weathertight or the aircond is under capacity for the large room.
Breakfast is the same thing daily and cost 29 dollars. The lobby bar Happy hour after 5pm has beers from 6 dollars.
