Novotel Darwin Airport reviews
59 Nice and good hotel with a hogh standard of hospitality in a wellknown Novotel chain.
Good to be here as it is very convinient and very close to Darwin Airport (walkable distance) nice.
Recommended for overnight and waiting for flight schedule.
Personnel and rules are inflexible. Even when you contact them with your situation they won’t accommodate. They would charge 50$/ h for early checkin. Not acceptable. Waited in the lobby in front of them for 2hours. That’s with Accord hotels. They just don’t get it.
Just checked in for 3 nights for dental conference. Room nothing like in photos, no restaurant, lovely receptionist, very shabby and disapointing. I dont think the pool photo is even on this hotel!
Excellent location. Clean.
Luke warm water at best for the first 3 days
Contractors drilling on the roof at 6: 30am.
No attempt was made to compensate.
Even with the above I would still return, in the hope the issues I faced were one offs.
Arrived at 1.30am. Shuttle took me to Hotel. Very courteous driver. Hotel Reception professional and friendly. Room beautiful and clean, cool and comfortable. Gave me late checkout as I was flying back next day.
Will definitely stay here again.
Staff friendly and very accommodating. Had a standard room which met our needs. Room and hotel was clean and tidy. Also various options for dine in. A nice short walk to the Darwin Airport.
OK, so not a place I would have chosen, but when your flight is delayed its any port in a storm. Check in was slow, but to be fair a couple of hundred people arriving at less than 4 hours notice is always going to put a strain on things. Room was superficially clean, but some unpleasant looking stains on the carpet. Aircon good, and shower was also good.
Nearby Chinese restaurant was noisy, but food was good.
Not on my list of favourite hotels, but adequate in the circumstances.
Whilst being amongst the most expensive hotels in the Darwin area, our rooms smells like someone smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for years before we came in. Almost unbearable. The ceiling fan is nearly falling off the roof, partially disconnected. It's also a disabled room which is off-putting. I was brushing my teeth and some girls long hair had been smeared into the mirror by the cleaner (only guys in the room this night). So yeah, it's a completely overpriced hotel that should be around $70 when we paid $170. Avoid! Unless you enjoy paying way more for no reason.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Room service non existent. You get served from one of 2 restaurants. Service average. This hotel appears to be very short staffed. The staff are most accommodating but seem to be working under stressful circumstances. That is a fault I place entirely with the management. They definitely need to to spend more time on the front line.
Orders are placed through reception. When we arrived there was only one person on duty, yet she was expected to place the room service orders through to the restaurant as well as doing her check in duties. Food was way below average. Ordered a beer but the bottle arrived unopened, and there was no bottle opener in the room. Food supplied in polystyrene boxes with plastic cutlery. I'll give a one out of 10 for that.
Room & facilities great.
Shuttle bus a joke
Front counter staff need to know how busy the restaurant is, in regard to inside or outside dining. Dwn quite warm in Dec
Will stay again & hope for better with the shuttle.

Room was good and clean, unfortunately they don’t provide toothpaste, which i dont mind to buy in their shop at the lobby, but their shop is run out of toothpaste as well, need to walk outside to mercure to get toothpaste, just a small thing but make it inconvenient
Thank you
Ok hotel. Clean. Nice staff. But found the room to be minimal. The first time I have stayed at a hotel. With not even class in the room. No coffee. No kettle. Nothing. Strange.
Clean and comfortable rooms, 6 minutes walk from terminal building. Breakfast is available across the room at the Mercure Hotel. Great room with balcony.
Outdated, but clean and does the job.food across the road is nice. Staff are lovely just needs a refurb.
The attraction to Darwin isn’t the state of its Airport, it’s adequate but the fun starts when you leave there to go exploring
8hr stop over in Darwin during middle of the night. $100 for a bed for 6hrs and a shower. Basic but exactly what I needed at a great price.
Walking distance to the airport.
Courtesy bus.plenty of Foxtel channels
AC and Fans
friendly service
Overall this was a nice hotel. In terms of cleanliness, it was generally at a good standard. The staff was also nice, and the rooms are quite decent too, HOWEVER, when we entered our bedroom for a short stay, we spotted an unexpected lurker on the bed - a baby lizard. Al we wanted to do was fall straight on to bed, as the rooms SEEMED lovely and clean. It was absolutely shocking, and quite terrifying. Little did we know that the lizard had reserved the room before us. I would’ve have given over four stars if it wasn’t for the unexpected scaly guest. If interested in booking a hotel in Darwin, my suggestion would be to check narrow spaces and corners first just to make sure the hasn’t been reserved already:)
It’s a very nice, clean hotel, and good if you need to be close to the airport. With easy access to the Mercure and their facilities. Also, the Chinese restaurant is good, and very popular. Plus the pool was good, but a bit cold at this time of year for me. I’d recommend this hotel.
Nicely refreshed. Great beds, if a bit small and good pillows. Location, great. Small TV (which didn't work anyway.) Crazy towel animals
