Mantra on the Esplanade reviews
59I was on a business trip the first night cost $500, great view and close to restaurants (thats the good stuff), room itself was average cleaned but not to covid standards, no movie channels, wanted $15 night internet, wanted $15 night to park the car, no restaurant or bar, my room was not serviced the 3 days I was there, the shower flow was so weak had to basically be against wall to get the water, changed from hot to cold numerous times, doors constantly banging with the auto shutting. Could have extended but decided to go elsewhere. No value for money here.
Read through sorry a little long. Excellent room Dishwasher, cooking facilities and cloths washer and dryer. Tv ok would like to see smart TV
Over all I would recommend this place On our return after two days away we returned again. However the room we got was a downgrade. The airconditioning was poor it was cooler in the passage. Smaller room not as nice. In these times companies should look after loyal customer. This shows they do not. We will vote with our feet taking our $$$_ somewhere else next Time.
Room was clean and comfy. Stayed here a few years ago and absolutely loved it. This time, we booked 2 nights, thinking we were getting the same, cost a lot, no room cleaning, there is now no restaurant or bar. Had to find cafes/restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Feel ripped off. Our first night we bought some food and ate in our room, thought we'd get clean dishes next day.no! Can't even supply you with some detergent, dishcloth and tea towel to clean your own crockery. Won't make the mistake of staying here again
Jody at reception was so helpful and professional after promises made by other staff had not been followed through. Jody is an asset to this motel.
Most outdated room I have ever stayed in.
Bathroom decor was from the 70's.
Air con really noisey and beds uncomfortable.
$350 a night and no regular room cleaning or maintenance.
It's ok, decor is dated, suite rooms badly need a make over. Some Staff are ok, just not very friendly. Manager is very good.
We checked into the Mantra last minute after disliking our original hotel. We found the Mantra to be very pleasant with all the basics you except from a hotel. The Harbour view was spectacular and loved walking into our room to the view. The bed was very comfortable and we asked for extra pillows and a blanket. We didn’t need the aircon on overnight as room stayed cool. The pool was clean and had enough daybeds. Also very central and cafe behind the hotel with good coffee. We would stay again for sure.
We travelled to Darwin on the Ghan with an overnight stay at the Mantra. Our booking clearly said "bed and breakfast" which we, and everyone else off the train, did not get. The next morning everyone had to go out looking for somewhere to have breakfast. Also, there were no blankets and we were told that if we wanted blankets they would bring to our room. Very disappointed but the train trip was fantastic!
Good, clean rooms. Great view of water. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Very quiet with not many people around due to covid.
Bedrooms werent made up each day but may be because of covid. Evacuation alert went off at 6am and staff on duty didn't seem to know what to do. Apart from that, great location. Spacious rooms. Harbour views are amaxing
Oi, it's near to everything, has a great swimming pool and great staff
Excellent Sunset views and is clean!
Took 45 mins to check in, stood there for the first 10 - 15 mins in an empty foyer with a sign that said back in 5 mins.called and spoke to someone in the main office somewhere who said she will send an e mail with my contact details to someone still got no follow up.had to go to pick up my wife was gone for 5 mins or so got back, finally someone there serving others still took ages to actually get into my room.
Web site says modern, except there is one power point next to the bed so can't plug the phone in there or anything else, it is really close to the floor so if you unplug the lamp after pulling the bed out and you have an odd shaped plug that goes down at all, not a chance.
Cable channels advertised on the website don't work. Shower very noisy have to turn the hot on full to prevent the noise.redeeming feature is the location.
The hotel needs to update their bathrooms, they are very basic, old fashion. However the service was very good, couldn't do enough for us.
Clean, quiet friendly. Great location.
No safe in the room.
No hotel book with info/instructions
Bar and restaurant not open weekends
Pool area disappointing.
Breakfast buffet very basic
Travelling with friends, booked 2x 1 b/rm apartments. Vastly different (presumably same $) ours had no oven, no seperate bedroom with a door or tv.much smaller kitchen and bathroom.
Clean comfortable and had a great view.
These guys really looked after me and made sure they did everything in their power to make my anniversary the best it possibly could be.
I would definitely stay here on our next visit without a doubt.
Muskie I can't thank you enough.
This is a very comfortable stay on the Esplanade opposite the bay. Very close to shops and convenience stores. Able to walk to most attractions around Darwin town.
Prices are very reasonable and the staff are more than helpful. We had a hardiur view room and the views are spectacular. A restaurant down stairs is convenient and good prices for a variety of food. I will stay here again
Wanted early lunch, 11.40am but there was no one around, website and menu indicated they were open. Left and now dining elsewhere.
Mantra has been a true discovery for us in Australia, have been to Mantra Sydney, Darwin, Adelaide and Perth and decided to choose for Mantra whenever one appears to be along our travels. We had a apartement room with Harbour view. (didnt have a clear view on the harbour though). Best price-quality ratio (book directly and get upgraded or a slightly better price!)
We stayed there end of August 2019 after a cruising the Kimberleys. Room was clean. View overlooking the back lane way and nightclubs. Short walking distance to main streets of Darwin. Ordered room service for breakfast. Did not get the cereal both mornings that I ordered. Not happy, no explanation why. Breakfast trays were still outside room until late in the evening. We checked out at 10pm and the breakfast trays were still there. It was a rundown foyer with flooring uneven. Needs a lot of maintenance.
View from 808 facing towards the bay. Make sure you Pick your rooms. Some overlook the clubs and its loud. This is the rooms facing the bay. Non negotiable ask b4 you book.
