Mantra on the Esplanade reviews
59Friendly staff, great location, beautiful views from 7th floor. Everything you need for a fabulous holiday.
Great location, spacious apartments, lovely harbour and city views. Vick the Mantra staff member is extremely accommodating and polite. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommended
The pool really needs some more sun lounges. There is only 6 provided for the whole hotel. It gets very busy and it would be lovely to cool down by the pool in darwins heat.
Outdated hotel. No breakfast available.noisy could hear next door.needs urgently an update
I was unable to stay at this hotel due to the Australian wide air controller strike and illness.
The Mantra Darwin have taken my money even through I have not even stepped foot in Darwin.
I have now contacted them through 4 phone calls and 3 emails trying to discuss. They don’t care, they have the money now.
Do not recommended these thieves.
Water view from room very nice. Ask for verandah room as our room only reliant on air-conditioning and have to say it was either freezing or stale air when turned off. The air-conditioning system was one where you don't get to choose temperature setting, only speed. No restaurant or food options at all. Needed to walk to find all meals. Saying that, the location is close to eat street and lots of options for cafe's and restaurants/pubs. Most staff friendly and helpful, however did come across one male staff member who grinned whilst watching us try to find night time security key scanner instead of help us in. Were told if wanted our trash emptied, to do it ourselves and go underground to cellar to do so. Fire siren went off approx 10pm one night and needed to evacuate. No staff to help the elderly or frail down the stairwell or do headcount when outside. All in all, pretty disappointing except for view and proximity to cafe's and restaurants.
Great to have a clean place to wash-up and relax after a long trip. Personal Washing Machine & Dryer did the trick with the clothes.
Had to provide own clothes line for delicates though. Youth Shack in Mitchell St.is out the back, so City View apartments get to share their party music!
Hotel rather run down. No restaurant or bar. Have to request any room service. Disappointing
Good harbour views, comfy clean rooms but hotel has no food or beverage at all and you'll need to either self cater which is possible in many rooms or eat out which is also possible quite close by on Mitchell St. Regular room servicing costs extra too. All acceptable if the accommodation is fairly inexpensive. It's not.
Was booked to stay at the Cav through work. NO!
Fortunately, a quick call was made, and the Mantra came to the rescue.
Hotel location is excellent being quite central and a very short walk to mitchell street which has plenty of shopping, bars, cafes and supermarkets. The room was excellent with all the ammenities you could need and stunning harbour views to watch the afternoon storms and superb sunsets although some of the “locals” were quite noisy in the park across the street most nights whilst we were trying to sleep. Secure underground carparking is also great with plenty of spacious parks. Access to the pool requires you to leave the hotel which means members of the public were accessing it during our stay and also the spa was not operational which was disappointing.
The Mantra is an excellent place to stay (I've just spent a week there) in Darwin the only thing is no restaurant but go out the back entrance and you are on Mitchell Street with many many different food types to choose from. I will definitely recommend this motel to anyone I'll be coming back thankyou for an excellent stay
Very expensive for a standard and dated city view room. It would be good if there is a recycle bin in the kitchen.
We were requested to evaluate after an fire alarm. We went the ground floor using the stairs. At the ground floor, there are no staff members guiding us nor explaining what was happening.
The location is excellent, close to restaurants and supermarkets.
Very overpriced, tired, grubby and very noisy. No restaurant or bar so no onsite breakfast. Bed was not properly made: No top sheet. We had to ring down for linen which took ages and I was tired. I have never stayed somewhere with no properly made bed before. We got the sheet but had to make the bed ourselves. At $670.00. Bathroom has a fixed glass screen over the bath/shower which was difficult. Possibly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at and certainly the worst value.
I don’t like doing bad reviews, but at $650 per night for four nights I did expect a reasonable quality hotel. The pool was small, very dated, no restaurant, basically you’re paying for a room and the suite was dated and very tired. Yes tourism is having difficulties at the moment that they should be charging a lot less for this.
Spacious clean rooms. Amazing location. Friendly, helpful staff. My only criticism is not being able to drink by the pool, especially if there is no bar or restaurant on site.
Very clean, friendly staff, good affordability Recommend for short or long stays in Darwin CBD.
Had a three bedroom apartment, view over the pool. Good size balcony. The rooms were clean. Serviced once during the week which didn't bother us. Great location.
Excellent hotel. Worth being here. The local food stalls in main street have all gone due to covid so some of ambience of area has gone. But still really worth staying here
It was really nice to be contacted by Management on my previous review around noise and they have kindly offered to move us to another area where it will be a lot quieter. I apologise to management as I should have gone directly first before putting my review up. A big thank you to Kate.
