Katherine Motel

Our room was spotlessly clean.
Newly renovated, new tv, fridge, toaster, kettle, hair dryer.
Bed was very comfy and peaceful and quiet.

The owners are generous, warm and friendly.
The pool is well maintained and car park is safe and free.

There’s is a lot of competition reviews on here that aren’t genuine.

Our experience was very good!

The service was awesome and the room and pool area was clean and tidy, and it is handy to everything, they very helpful with my booking Nothing was a problem and housekeeping really helpful and the bed was sooo comfortable.

In spite of a late arrival, we had a excellent check in experience thanks to Prem who did his best to make us feel like special guests! The room was well renovated. Nice Indian restaurant next door. Thank you!

This is the worst, I mean the most horrid place I have ever stayed in. Would highly recommend you stay well away. We had to keep the bathroom door closed as it smelt like sewage. Only had sheets on our beds, no bedspread, blanket or similar. No cutlery. No bedsides. A twin room with only one chair. I could go on but would take me all night. Oh yeah, way overpriced. We chose it because it was pet friendly and our small Maltese cost an extra $50 for the night. Appalling.

This Motel’s reputation proceeded it and when my work booked me in here I was dubious from memories of what it was like a decade ago when I lived in Katherine last. I was pleasantly surprised however, when I arrived and checked in! The motel is under different management and the staff are working on improving and upgrading the facilities. I spent roughly 2 months in Katherine for work and after the second stay I requested this motel for all future trips because I found the room to be just as good if not better than the one I stayed in at knotts crossing the fortnight before and because the staff were wonderful here.

The staff are very helpful and knew me by name eventually.

This is clearly not a 5 star hotel, but you aren’t going to find anything near a 5 star hotel in Katherine. It is centrally located, so easy to walk to Woolworths, the post office and KHub as well as cafes, restaurants and the bottle shop. Rooms are comfortable, air conditioned and clean, there is a communal microwave/kitchen area which is helpful for longer/work stays!

Had just driven 3000km. The guy on the front desk was extremely rude. Overpriced and despicable service. I would not stay there again

I was given a never cleaned room in the first place, very disappointed! Again asked for a replacement room and couldn’t be bothered to request for a refund as we were travelling from Bundaburg and spent 2 days on the road. When it comes to ammenities, very poor! In fact not worth to give at least one star rating. No oven, no cutlery and the mat wasn’t vacuumed. Bed spread wasn’t washed. Very poor service! I wouldn’t recommend this motel to anyone. Normally I never give reviews. But this one made me soo disappointed!

The staff here are outstanding. They will do anything for you. The restaurant was excellent as well. Try the butter chicken. Even a nice cold beer in the fridge compliments of the hotel. I would stay here again whenever I am in Katherine or passing through.

Clean enough, basic accommodation close to all amenities. As good as any in Katherine. Restaurant on site has nice food. Staff very friendly.

Very friendly staff and the bed very comfortable. A bath/shower, which personally I love (I love a relaxing bath any day, and it's especially welcome when travelling), but I fear that a less agile guest may find it difficult to step into, and may even fall. Be careful.
Very well situated in the heart of Katherine, a short walk to anywhere.
The security gate was an issue. I was leaving early for the bus to Darwin and the lady told me to leave my key in the room.
So I did.
Which meant when I got to the gate (which had not been closed the night before) I could not get out. It was very stressful as the bus was connecting me to the plane so I could not miss it. Luckily for me a few other guests were up and about so I asked one to click open the gate for me. However nothing happened. A further few minutes of stress as we tried every which way, but it wasn't until another guest drove up with his car that the gate opened.
This will undoubtedly be fixed as the renovations continue, but was most inconvenient and stressful for me at the time.
I did make the bus, so all ended well.

Booked.paid. Phoned to arrange after hours 1030 pm check in. They forgot, when we arrived had to call reception. Room was dirty, cockroaches were visible. My mug had a huge crack top to bottom. Paid for superior upgrade where tgey showand describe a basket of local goodies. Did not exsist. Actually only supplied 3 coffeesatchels 2 tea bags and 4 sugar packs. I believe they forgot to make up the room. We refused to sleep in the bed or use towels. Hubby got 3 hrs and i got 1 hr sleep on top of doona as room seemed very dirty and not in service. They forgot to turn on the aur con control at reception, they told us when we asked for air con. Tv had no reception whatsoever. AVOID

Outdated, over priced and in need of a good refurbishment. Our room smelt stale and sewage like and the aircon barely cooled the room, not to mention a faulty shower with horrific pressure. The manager there seemed more interested in our money then anything else and to be frank was very strange and made us feel uncomfortable. Would definitely recommend staying elsewhere.

I stayed in a good room, but It didn't have a blanket, just a sheet.

They kindly gave me a free cold bottle of water, because I was traveling back to Darwin. I would recommend staying there again. I wanted to try swimming in the pool but maybe next time.

The owner was incredibly nice and helped accommodate us on short notice. We liked the free water bottles in the rooms.

Very friendly owner who always there to help you and provide 1st class services.
It's outdated motel, but most convenient location, park car at front of the room, flexible check in for late travellers, free water bottle and biscuit is bonus. Definitely will stay here again if back to Katherine. 5 stars for great services.
