Katherine Hot Springs reviews
51 Water is not so wormy, but refreshing
There are many flying foxes in the trees, screaming all the time
We came in the late afternoon and the place was busy. There are lots of big bats on top of the pool. The hot area is actually very small. But the main pool was great to swim. I suggest to come around noon to get the best lightning.
Are you kidding!? A tepid, lazy river of fresh water with dappled light and birds chirping? ! Amazing.
Excellent
Clear crystal water
Experience one will never foget
A place everyone must visit
Love this place. Peaceful and good for family. It is only open during dry season (March to September). And closed during wet season (October to February) without any management. But there is no gate for this place only sign. So you can sneak into this hot spring. Water is clear and warm. Just be ware of wild animals including crocodile.
Good hot springs especially for little ones, pop rocket cafe closes the deal on how good the location is
Beautiful "hot springs" it is closed for driving ATM but you can hike to it. Easy hike
It was disappointing. Visited in Nov in the late afternoon (about 5pm). Was getting a bit noisy with locals who had alcohol with them (think the Katherine hot springs are supposed to be alcohol free) down one end. At the top end there were some fellows having a soapy shower…
Otherwise the water was warm and clear. Would recommend visiting earlier in the day when it’s quieter. Worth bringing a pool noodle for deeper sections
Lovely relaxing creek and pools to float in. We went on a Monday morning in September and it was pretty quiet.
The water was beautiful. The toilets via the accessible pathway were locked which was unfortunate, and those near Pop Rocket really needed a thorough clean.
A bit smaller than bitter springs but still very special. We arrived 9am and it wasn't too crowded. There are toilets up top of the hill. Great place for families.
Lovely spot for an afternoon cool down. The temperature of the water I'd perfect for when you're battling 40 odd degree temperature.
This one is a must!
Although the Riverview Tourist Village is very close to the hot springs on the map, it is actually very far and hard to walk uphill and downhill. It is better to drive fast. So do not need to choose that village at all.
What an absolute gem right in town! Super-easy to access and well worth a visit. Great to see all the local kids out having the time of their lives in this natural wonder.
Nice place to relax and despite being warm, it's still cooler than the heat in Katherine. There's a few different sections to the pools, so you should be able to get your own spot.
Enjoyed a refreshing swim at the end of the dry season. Water was mildly warm and surroundings are lovely. Pools are small compared to other locations so can be crowded at peak times. Still very enjoyable.
Surprised by this place, thought it would be more crowded. It looks like two little pools linked by a long corridor where you can swim.

Absolutely amazing. Well worth the visit. I find it way better than Mataranka and bitter springs.
Wonderful place
Not hot but very refreshing
Stayed for hours
No crocodiles evident
Yes the water really is that colour
