Humpty Doo Hotel reviews
62Famous pub that lives up to it, s reputation. Had a very nice lunch here, steak sanga very nice, 3 mini burgers croc, buffalo, barra. All very nice, beer was nice and cold. Locals were a very happy lot. Lots of laughing coming from around the pool table, only problem was i couldn, t stay longer.
Typical outback pub. Iconic. Great service. Good selection of tap and bottled beers. Food was great. Good selection of local produce (crocodile, buffalo, barramundi). Tour buses welcome.
You have got to stop and have a beer here at the very least. Very iconic Australian Pub. I was here 27 years ago. There was a local band then and the atmosphere was wild. Perhaps a little more tame now but worth a visit.
Okay pub. Food is standard pub fare. Nothing fancy. The $20 burger was stupid big just fell apart. Good for a cold beer on a hot Darwin day
Nice place, great food - their Humpty Doo Mix Grill is divine - crocodile, barramundi, pork and buffalo all combined in one meal, spectacular
What can I say about this place that has not already been said. This place is an icon in the Northern Territory. The staff in the place are awesome. A happy smile while having a chat with every customer. As a tourist and a person who likes a cold palate cleansing ale, I loved the place.
What a great little outback homely pub. Loved it! Girls very friendly and counter meals were great value. My sons favourite pub after a big day at work.
Of course we stopped, who wouldn’t! Such an iconic pub. That’s all it had going for it. Awful meals. Frozen sandwich chicken in the Caesar salad is disgraceful these days. Doesn’t take much to fry a bit of real chook for $25. Steak was average too. What a shame.
Good pub good girls behind the bar. Burgers are something special tho some of the other menu is a bit of a let down
Lived in Australia for 12 years and can comfortably say it doesn’t get more real than the Humpty Doo Hotel.
Worth a stop on your way to or from the jumping crocs.
Great for adults but kids get bored pritty quick and the menu isn't that cheap (as a local don't like change for tourists)
Take your time to look around and take in the humor. Did not have a meal however the drinks were cold.
Service was appalling. No kids inside but you have a merchandise shop in there. Absolutely no charm, merely surviving on its reputation.
Trio of burgers great to share chips and sauce fab. Nice service plenty of room but it does get busy.
Was but disappointed in food this time buffalo burger tasted like a frozen meat patty raved about meals etc to family took them here and we were all disappointed in the food. Atmosphere great and lovely staff especially in the gift shop
Award service, awkward place. Insects festival. No charme found despite the reputation.
Avoid at any cost.
My local what can I say, great place, like every place has it's good times and it's bad, staff great then sometimes not so great, but ya live local you love local and got to support ya local through it's up's and down's. Xx
Been a year since I put this post up, a lot has happened around the place, town is spreading out and seems closer than ever, but one thing still good to visit after all this time is the Local Pub Humpty Doo Hotel. And always guaranteed to know someone. 7 / 2018
Great thrist and lunch spot on the way home from a morning fishing, friendly staff and cold beers, cheers kev
It had ice cold beer! Some staff were excellent, but others were very poor. Menu options are very limited and food took ages. It’s very popular, but I think mostly because of the reputation. Worth a visit if you’re not looking for anything special.
Lots of fun!
This is a proper country pub with little in the way of frills to impress people who need impressing.
The beer is cold and the food is very good for the price. If you’re a visitor you’ll feel like you’ve visited a piece of the NT without any of the usual effort people make for tourists. I like that about the joint.
If you’re looking to be pampered and made to feel important, stay away. If you’re looking for a window into rural life in the NT, this is a good place to start.
