The garden is big with literally nothing in it. The plants are almost dead and 40% of the ground is rather dusty and filled by branches and twigs. Very little amount of plant collection. It is really hard to get around because there is only a few signs pointing to the wrong direction. The only upside is the play areas there is really good and the childrens loved it.

The Gardens management have developed some "kid friendly" areas within the garden to enthuse little ones. Our little grandsons lived the dinosaurs in the Cycad Garden and the fish in the large lily pot in the Orchid and Bromelia shade house.

An attractive botanical garden that is easy to stroll through with good selection of NT flora. Well defined pathways, nice grassed areas, good for picnics and families. Plenty of parking and on site cafe. Free entry. Easy bike ride from downtown. Allow 1-2 hours to enjoy. Nice tropical gardens with pathways to walk around showing different gardens from the NT. Lots of construction going on so a bit hard to find your way in to start

The new look is fantastic
Once construction is completed and all is functional and on display the gardens will be exceptional. Would recommend a passenger train or similar for weary visitors as the area is huge

Shady & peaceful (usually), a mix of nature trees and colourful tropical flowers and foliage. Well worth a visit (I think so anyway)

Surprising on many ways. A free to enter public space with acres to explore. Make sure you have a map to make the most of the layout. Visit the extremely helpful staff at the visitor center in the city first. You can catch a bus from around the corner to the gardens. We walked back to the city. The gardens are peaceful and there is a historic rustic cafe with good coffee at the entrance. Definitely worth spending time wandering around these gardens. Many different areas and well set out.

Very green area with clean amenities.
Dogs allowed as long as on a leash, responds to calls or within eyesight.

There's an excellent, one hour free walking tour of the George Brown Darwin Botanical Gardens available in the dry season (last tour for 2018 was 14 October). Our guide, Yvonne, was highly knowledgeable and engaging, sharing the history of the gardens and individual plants/trees, locating the trees in flower, and pointing out a resident blue-winged kookaburra, a barking owl, and huge sun-baking snake (it was high up in a tree, so no immediate danger).

Big construction project in process (completion due Oct 19) has shut down a section and the BBQ area is not great right now. Still pleasant to wander around.

The Botanic Gardens were great to visit. There is lots of work going on so it will be even better in the future

Large gardens, close to city. Very dry at moment, and several areas under repair or under construction. New Visitors centre, looks like it will be another impressive Darwin building, with large deck area. Rainforest area has come under storm destruction, and needs regrowth/replanting to bring it under a real rainforest canopy affect, however the African/ Savannah area is fantastic.

It wasn’t as my expectations because firstly there are working in progress and secondly the place hasn’t so many things to see but still a great place in order to stay connected with the nature

Nice gardens with quiet surrounds. Obviously concentrated toward tropical flora. Free entry and situated close to the city and Mindil Beach. Popular for weddings in the dry season with council permission. Eva's Cafe near the entrance is good for a coffee or light snack.

Altho it is worth a look. It needs better signage and help for visitors. Went to cafe no luck with info found the info centre all of 2 girls in there 1 on phone the other on computer stood there waiting no acknowlement that i was even there.
So much work going on which is a good idea but some signage re where to go would help.

Poorly signed info centre was up top with no direction how to get there. The map provided was a piece of paper with lines drawn on that indicated nothing. Sections of garden were less than ordinary very disappointing.

Went to the Botanic Gardens many years ago and loved it then. Recently went again and loved it even more, except for the humidity. Great place in the dry season I'd say. Fantastic display of a huge range of everything.

There was some construction here which meant that we couldn't get to all parts of the garden. What we saw was nice.
