Emu Run Experience reviews
75We went on the tour on Wednesday 14th September. It was great, the guide was excellent and we appreciated that he really had taken the time to learn about the area. Enjoyed the trip with a wonderful group of people.
We had Karen our guide for most of the tour. She was informative but a little abrupt in her ways. First of all she demanded her watch was correct with timing, even though we all had the same time then it was a little difficult to hear what she was saying over the microphone as it was loud. We after had Lauren. She was good, only issue was she was walking fast which didn't help those who couldn't catch up. She was very informative and felt she was one with spirits at Uluru as when she was saying stories, it would be windy, then the wind would stop. We had a cooked breakfast, coffee, tea and cereal at our first stop which was great, we were given a wrap for lunch which we are on the bus, but dinner was absolutely fantastic. We had to wait a little for the meat, but it was worth it. Had steak, sausages, salads, orange juice, wine, beer, lamingtons, beetroots. We also had apples and lollies. Once sunset happened, we were rushed into the bus back to Alice. The drivers were fast. 18 hrs well worth it. A downside is that there was no WiFi on board and the tv was not used.
We were picked up from our accommodation in Alice Springs, and traveled out to Uluru national Park. Both our drivers were very informative and safe.
The tour of the park was very interesting and informative but we did feel a little rushed at each stop due to time constraints.
Other than that I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Alice Springs area
We did MacDonnell range tour. The area is beautiful for hiking, swimming, Aboriginal history and ecology and can be worthy more days.if you have one the tour is the way to go! Mazing guide Sally! Totally recommended
Really bad experience with the Uluru day tour. Do not recommend at all. Went with AAT kings on a different tour, and was so much better. Sat at the back of the bus and couldn't hear a thing the guide said but could smell the toilet. The lady guide was so impatient and rude, rushing us every where we went when we didn't even know what was happening. And she couldn't be bothered to explain, just kept telling us 5 min, 5 min! It really was a waste of money.
I would not use this tour. The bathroom on board was out of order, (they did not mention ahead of time), phone charging stations did not work, and they left the tour group stranded for over an hr claiming the bus broke down somewhere. During this hour, everyone just stood around, only reason we found out bus was broken is someone called the company. At first, the company told passengers to walk 2km to the next pick up spot! Of course we lost this time on the tour and they didn't even attempt to make the time up. The food served was mediocre at best and we spent most of the sunset bbq time getting chairs out of the bus to sit on and then cleaning up to leave. Look elsewhere before you choose this company.
The MacDonnell Ranges tour was one of the best I did in Alice. The driver was very professional and informative and the scenery was Beautiful.
Very disappointed. Felt very neglected as a customer and did not feel there was value for money in the tour.
This tour is also not suitable for anyone wanting to take their time, or if you are a slow walker, mobility-impaired, etc.
Look elsewhere.
Emu Run services are fantastic. I sent 8 days in Alice Springs and used Emu Run for the airport transfer to and from hotel. I also took 3 of their tours. All fantastic value for money and the drivers and guides are awesoe!
The 1 Day Uluru & Kata Tjuta Tour was exactly what I was looking for as a first time visitor. Fun, doable walks complimented with interesting insights from our dependable friendly guide (shout out Brit).
Kata Tjuta & Uluru sunset tour was spectacular. Jake our guide was very knowledgeable & accommodating. I would highly recommend this tour.
A wonderful day touring the West MacDonnell Ranges with Emma who provided an excellent commentary and gave us a great experience with lunch provided.
Did both the Uluru Day trip from Alice Springs and West MacDonnell Ranges tour. Both were excellent experiences, coach comfortable and all drivers (Clive, Brit, Karen) all did a great job. I also used to airport shuttle into town on my arrival and all went well too.
Had a great day, the scenery was fantastic, our guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience very interesting.
Did the West MacDonnell Ranges day tour today with Emu Run. The itinerary was excellent but our guide Emma was outstanding. You would never guess that she was not a born and bred Territorian. Her on and off bus commentary flowed beautifully and her knowledge and passion was awesome. Can’t wait to join this mob on another adventure
West McDonnell Ranges one day tour - we’ve been fortunate to have Bluey as our guide for this awesome trip. His stories spoke to us in an unforgettable way about this beautiful land which is Central Australia. Full of valuable knowledge, told by a talented storyteller, a man who just loved sharing and open your eyes and heart.
Highly recommended.
The reception of this company is based in the Philippines. Their knowledge of the services offered by the company is very limited more specifically their on the ground local knowledge. From a client perspective planning trips such as the Larapinta Trail is made more complex because you can’t talk to someone in Alice Springs. They seem to have limited understanding of the environment in Central Australia. When you talk to them on the phone all you can hear is chickens making a racket in the background. ️ I am not impressed. There was an issue regarding the key for locker rooms on the Larapinta Trail. We were not informed that this company no longer supplied the key even though I had paid them $70 for this service. They took my money and did not inform me of their new management decision. Once again I’m not impressed. This could have left us in a pickle. I have requested a contact number so I can discuss my issues with local operations but this was declined. This is a money grabbing company. I would not recommend them. Emu Run needs to take a serious look at this review and act accordingly.
Brittney was the MOST excellent tour guide! She took such good care of us and knew so many interesting facts as we took the sacred site tour. She was professional and we would HIGHLY recommend this company and Brittney to you if going to Uluru! PS and she has lollies!
Went on West Macdonnell ranges tour from Alice Springs with Emma. Excellent tour. Beautiful scenery. Emma was very informative and great leader for the group. Highly recommend.
Amazing! Normally we (couple with 6 year old son) are not the kind of people going on organized tours but after the 1 day tour to Uluru with guide Karsten we booked our next (day) tour to Macdonnnell Ranges.
On both tours we enjoyed every moment, while driving enjoyed the exciting stories (particular those about the destinies of the early explorers) and will never forget all the stunning views after mostly short walking ways. No way to get so much out of just a day if you going on your own. Definitely worth the money.
