Daly Waters Hi-Way Inn reviews
59 The Daly Waters Hi Way Inn, located at the intersection of the Carpentaria Highway and Stuart Highway, offers a reasonably priced stay amidst a few hiccups. While the room rates were affordable, the presence of numerous flies within the room affected the overall comfort, and disappointment arose as the room wasn't cleaned after the first night of our stay.
Despite this setback, the room amenities stood out positively with efficient air conditioning, robust water pressure ensuring a hot shower, and a well-equipped space with a TV, desk, and chair. The room's configuration of a single bed and a queen bed offers flexibility for guests.
The inn's restaurant proved to be a highlight, offering delectable meals at reasonable prices. The Scotch fillet, T-bone, and barra dishes were especially noteworthy. Additionally, the bar area, equipped with a TV and a pool table, added to the recreational options available to guests. The presence of a small swimming pool also added to the overall appeal.
Despite the initial room cleanliness issue, the Daly Waters Hi Way Inn provides a comfortable stay with satisfactory amenities, delicious dining options, and varied entertainment choices, ultimately offering an enjoyable experience for guests willing to overlook minor inconveniences.
Great pub! Meals are very generous serving size, great price too! Rooms are very affordable. Staff very friendly!
Great little place to stop overnight or just for a meal. Grassed sites $30/night. Clean amenities building. The camp kitchen was a bbq and sink with a table so keep that in mind. You get a free drink voucher at check for the pub, which is nice. They have a good menu selection if you decide to eat there. The portions are massive though, so he prepared for that. Prices are excellent considering the size of the meal. Most of the staff we interacted with were pleasant but one person seemed to be having a bad day. Quiet considering the location. Would stay again if in the area.
We mistakingly booked the wrong Daly Waters venue and it was a good mistake to make. Friendly people, cold beer, comfortable room and a great breakfast. Would stay again.
Hi way inn you do it again, I stay here if I don’t feel like doing the whole stint to Alice, and the service is always friendly, and for the price you pay for rooms they are exactly what you need! I got the backpackers room as I only intend to sleep a short time before I hit the road again, and I’m impressed for their bargain price
Excellent value grassy caravan sites, power, water for $30 includes 2 drink vouchers.
A really down to earth, great park that caters for all. After the madness that Daly Waters has become, this place is little bit of goodness.
Good quiet spot.
Grassy sites
Close to Daly Waters but much less busy and very peaceful
Beautiful oasis with a lovely outdoor bar area next to a heated pool Excellent customer service and enjoyed the drinks voucher The wild caught barramundi was delicious Thanks for a wonderful stay. Good idea to arrive early for powered sites if you want a good spot out the back.
Great staff, great service, great sites (I’ve only stayed unpowered — grassy, shade + shower, toilet, outdoor, laundry facilities) and consistently great rissoles in the pub—which is also nice n’ chilled.
We stayed in a powered site, which was perfect. Reasonably priced pub and a clean, refreshing pool! Way better option than in Daly Waters itself.
We paid $135 for the night. It was 3 stars only, but it is a 100s km.to the nearest major town. They have huge generators for power and suspect bore water as running water
At the hotel/takeaway/bistro, the service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. Rather large serves. Next morning we had breakfast, Dave had lambs fry, not everyone's first choice, but he said it was delicious. And they have a coffee machine, yah.
Came here for dinner after staying at the other Daly Waters Place where food was over priced and so terrible that I could not eat there again. Food and service here at Highway Inn is top shelf and will definitely come back again. Great value for money.
Amazing service with great food with good volume and a very low price. The pool was great with lots of free toys and goggles available for kids.
Food was quite a good price and the bowl of chips was absolutely huge. Unpowered sites available.
Just drove around oz. A pleasant place to stop. Not as busy as the other park. Stayed here on the way up and back. Had a meal both times. Probably the best 2 meals of our trip. Great salad with barra and great steak. Oh. The pool table was free too.
My takeaway chickenburger was charcaol.
Order number 29 an hour ago.
As a cook I would have had no pride in my job,
to put this on a customers
Burger.
Did not stay but filled my tank on Wednesday. Later going through my reciepts found a bottle of mango relish had been added to my purchase. I hope this was a one off but be wary.
Top stop over. Powered sites are grassed with good amenities. Pool could do with some shade but only an observation. Bar garden is dog friendly and meals/beer reasonably priced. Would stay here over staying at the Pub as it is a nicer setup.
Great meals and licensed bar. Family friendly and grassed camping area. Ammenities clean and tidy.
Stayed twice in 2 weeks. The rooms are clean but the mattresses are in desperate need an update, the food is great and large servings in the pub. The showers were cold and apparently the owner knew this earlier that day. No information given on checkin or reduction on room.
Off milk portions both stays.
Ask what room your in if you choose to stay. Rooms 1-5 are close to the back of the kitchen. The noisy generator/ coolroom kept us up most of the night.
It won't be an option for us next time. The service what service. Hubby had to wait 15 minutes to pay for fuel. Due to one person serving at 7am, she was also expected to make cofeees and do breakfast orders. English was not her first language.
