Buley Rockhole reviews
64Very cool place. Unlike the typical great waterfalls you will see, this is like a mini cutie creekfall. Some plungepool, some legs soaking area, some butt soaking area and anywhere is a pool. I chose to butt onto the middle of the top stream so everyone get to enjoy warm water stream from my butt cheeks' warmth:) Just kidding, I'm not a Buley
What a place! It's easy to see why the locals choose this as a preferred cool off location. Lots of room to spread out, picture perfect falls to cool off and the cream for me was the frogs along the falls. Bang on.
Nice spot to stop for a swim especially if going on to visit other waterfalls at Litchfield. I can imagine being crammed in like sardines during dry season but fortunately we visited 3rd week of October so there wasn’t too many people. Easy hike to get there from the car park. Accessible restrooms. Ample parking.
Easily accessible, refreshing cool rock pools. Slippery rocks but plenty of options to laze around in the running stream. A unique experience that is highly recommended.
Beautiful wilderness experience. Very close to the carpark. There are little "terraces " of rock pools. Some are a bit hard to get in, the rocks in the river are not sharp, rounded and VERY slippery. What ever you do, don't stand on the wet rocks! Just crawl. Once you in the water, it's all worth it. You will get out, somehow, lol!
Some of the pools are a decent size and it's even better when there is a decent amount of water flowing down the rocks
Had a great time wading and jumping into the rock pools. Once there it is a short walk to the rock holes. There is a public toilet and some shaded tables for a picnic.
First time here. A bit excited about unknown.
Creek water is ok. Shallow and clear.
The rockhole is a must to see. I dived down to see bottom. About 2.5 m deep. Milky, brown, thick.
A wonderful experience.
Iconic set of pools and stream for Darwin swimmers. I came as part of a tour from Darwin to the Litchfield national park. While it was obvious that everyone was having a good time, one guy even had his barbecue set up IN the stream, I couldn't help but wonder what the result of those tens of sweaty bodies shedding sunscreen into the water was doing to the faun and flora downstream. Any research being done on that? Saw a pair of red tailed black cockatoos there.
Really good for the kids short walk to the water and there are very deep or shallow water to play in.
Beautiful scenery and the water is lovely. Deep enough to jump in and have some fun but also a nice place to relax.
Great place to cool off on a hot day! There are many different size holes to swim in so you can pick the one that works for you and possibly even find one for yourself. The rocks can be super slippery so be careful when getting in/out!
Nice wild place. Worthy to visit or get a swim there. We hadn’t enough time to go in the water. Easy to park there is seating and tables for lunch or so.
Another beautiful spot to go for a dip in Litchfield! There are several different pools that vary in size and depth. Can get very busy with tour buses.
Absolutely outstanding. Clear water that's not to cold with heaps of room to swim. Perfect place to take pictures. Highly recommend this place to be on your list when visiting Darwin.
A wonderful place to visit. Always very busy in the dry season so visit early or later in the day to avoid some of the crush. There are two really good walks from Buley to Florence which are well worth the effort. They are relatively short as well.
Too crowded too many drunken bogans, Some park staff have a power complex & think they r the police! Otherwise nice nature. After 3pm most people go.
Very popular on a hot day, which is every day Really busy on school holidays, lovely place. Well worth the trip, will be back another time, Not school holiday time to enjoy it more
Nice as usual, but crowded yesterday. Very precarious with slippery rocks to get to the water. Not suitable for anyone unsteady on their feet or with poor balance or poor vision. The top pool was lovely.
