Bitter Springs Cabins and Camping reviews
68Friendly efficient welcome. Very shady unpowered sites. Very clean amenities with all we needed, including camp kitchen with fridge, hot plates etc. They even had a water truck to damp the tracks and cool it all down on a very hot afternoon! How’s that for service? LOVED the fire fly show in the bushes around our campsite on dusk! Magical!
Great bush caravan park. Nice sized sites. Clean amenities. Short walk to the Springs. Lots if shade.
Bitter Springs Caravan park is great re location. You can park your van and either drive, walk or cycle up to the springs very easily. We picked a great site that had terrible Starlink service so that really impacted our trip but the whole grounds themselves are stunning. There's a river that runs through the grounds which is so cool and the park really is huge. Only thing missing for me is an oven in the camp kitchen but honestly, it has everything you need for a great stay.
A beautiful mix between palm trees and bush!
This is a lovely place. Good sized sites and clean amenities. Really close to the springs. Next time I'd probably go for a powered site though. The reason being that a family of feral pigs walked through the bushes past our unpowered site.a bit too close for my liking!
Love this place. Lots of shade, big sites, great staff, a quick walk to the springs.and a big screen for movie.tonight it's the Matilda's game.
Best place to stay when going to Bitter Spings. It's an easy, less than 10min walk. Facilities were really clean. Staff were friendly. The springs were amazing.
Absolute oasis on the outskirts of town. Friendly staff, amenities clean, well organised check in assistance to site. Easy walk or drive to thermal springs.
A truly beautiful experience here.the facilities are clean and have ensuite loos and showers.the staff were really friendly and courteous which was a delightful change to the other van park nearby.a definite return place
Yes it's close to the springs but now that you need a parks pass I'm not sure that's an advantage. The caravan park up the road was cheaper. Our site was very dusty. Ablution block was ok. Showered with three frogs or maybe two toads and a frog. Plenty of space between us and neighbours.
The springs are definitely worth a visit. Just below body temperature & crystal clear, you can spend hours in the water watching the occasional turtle or fish. I'm told there are harmless fresh water crocs here but didn't see any myself.
Beautiful, lush campsites. Awesome experience to slowly float down the river in crystal clear water.
One word METICULOUS
Reception was welcoming and as you would expect accommodating.
By far the best we've been to.
Thank you so much from us NZers doing Ozzie RED TRAIL
Got an unpowered spot next to the river. Super chilled and clean place. Plenty of space to be free here. Friendly owners.walk to the Springs.
Loved this cabin, very clean and comfortable, plenty of space between cabins, carport and BBQ with an outdoor setting, close to the hot springs. Staff were very plesant too.
Doesn't get much better than this joint best flathead and salad I've had and I live on the coast
Love this place. Well looked after and very accommodating care takers. Roads are even watered to keep dust at bay. Booked for 3 nights. Decided to stay another 2. So relaxing. Amenities clean. Plenty of shaded sites.
Very clean cabins. Fridges, full kitchen, TV, BBQ, cold air con too. Very comfy beds. Recommend if you need a solid night sleep if you're travelling.
Great place in Elsey National park by the Roper river where you might be lucky to see fresh water crocodiles. Nice and clean, great showers, had a swap books little library, fresh vegs and fruits from reception. Bitter springs the best natural thermal pools in the area surrounded by paperbark and palm forests. Just walking distance from the campground.
About the 10th time here always love it. Unfortunately, this time I was rushed at and bitten by a dog which which brought broke the skin and brought blood. Being after office hours, I waited till next morning and reported it to the owner/manager of the park. To me, a dog of this nature should not be allowed in the park. The response from the manager was Oh Yeah. I'll speak to him later. Asked if her would be asked to leave, he responded, No I won't do that.
This is a Pet Friendly Park, and as such dogs that rush at and bite someone offering no threat should not be here and management should deal with an issue like this with more conviction. I was going to extend my stay bur not now. I know management wouldn't care due to how busy they are, but word of mouth can be powerful. Very disappointing.
