Barkley Homestead offers a good rest stop and are highly recommended.

They have an abundance of drive through rig sites with power and water. Unpowered sites are also available.

Facilities include various fuel browsers, a pool, several amenities blocks, a shop offering food, snacks, drinks and souvineers, a bar and a restaurant.

Our arrival was busy, but they have great staff and the various bowser sales and site bookings were processed quickly.

So lovely, $40 powered site with sweet water, laundry, lovely generous dinner at bistro & bar drinks cheaper than home in Melb. They use 500 litres a day every day to make their own electric power for the station & guests, 2 bores they treat to make sweet the water for drinking cooking & showers. Service was quick & efficient with happy staff, as in all LOVED it & would certainly stay again.

Plenty of caravan sites.dinner was good and dinner service was good breaky was great. BUT.when we got there at lunch time. 2 girls were trying to do.meals, check ins, bar and service, with a full driveway.manager needs a foot up the arse.and some serios training. If he did his job would be 4 stars.

Absolute peek hospitality from the staff here.who knew the Barkley homestead of all places employed tiny Pilipino women to rub your feet while you slept? 10/10, would recommend.

Overpriced. Not even a glass to have a drink of water in the motel room.
No toaster or even a wine glass.
Meal was ok at pub but basic.
Person playing music was far to loud couldn't hear yourself think.
Staff not very friendly at reception a fairly disappointing place to stop.

After an ectremely ardious long, boring drive scross the Tableland east to west, what a pleasant site. Oasis like, green grass, eater sprinklers, Mallee Fowls running about.
Large caravan grounds both powered and unpowered with clean and welcomming cabins included.
Overnight with csravan is reasonably priced. Would be very mindful however that you have sufficient fuel onboard to cover the journey as Deisel is extremely high at $19.99 per litre. Unsure about unleaded but suggest would also be exorbitant.
Nonetheless a modt welcome break to ourmost monotonous drive accross.

Went to order from the limiting menu. I was going for the Meat Lovers, however I was bluntly told that I couldn’t have it without BBQ sauce and that all pizzas were made in advance.

Went with the Margherita, which was underwhelming upon arrival. Hardly any cheese and bland to taste. Not the best stop off.

Just a stop for lunch and stretch the legs. Had a fabulous burger & chips, friendly staff all pretty good really.

Fuel $2.07 lt. Caravan park ok except for the feral tasmanian guy next to us with his feral attitude and barking dog. We arrived at 3pm and you have to find your own spot. Drove around 3times to eventually find a powered site. Pitty all the vans that arrived after us.

After a long day on the road from either direction it's a true Oasis in the outback! The little things like a/c already on for a beautiful cool room. And the pool is amazing, beautiful food & drinks and not forgetting the true outback fly's.lol but that's our Australia

Although there is no other choice anyway, the place is really good. Powered sites, proper dump site, little swimming pool and great food, free wifi.

Great overnight stay. Pity about the ignorant self centered people who let their dogs roam free, scaring the birds in the nice aviary and the wandering guinea fowl. Also the champion who let his dog roam inside the pool area.

Expensive. Service and food okay. Could stock a few more camping items for such an important focal point.

Staff rude. No facilities to change the baby. Had to use the outside tables which we had to clean prior to changing bub as was grubby. Only to be told could not change baby there for hygiene reasons. When asked where we could change baby was told our car.

A very welcome start with the lovely pool after a hot day driving. Food was good but a bit expensive. It was nice to get a cold beer. Staff were friendly. Amenities were good and it was great to have a dump point as well. Loved the shop.
