Dreadfully long checking included giving us a site that was occupied; our site ended up opposite the bus bays: should have been cheaper; showers ridiculously small and unclean. V disappointing

Dear CEO in Ayers Rock Resort.

Hi, how are you?
I'd like to let you know how much you are lucky you have a great man 'John' in your resort.

May your resort have glory!

He is security in Resort.
I appreciated him. ️

I was suppused to go Sunrise Tour. Normaly voucher shows pick up time but sunrise tour need to check pick up time personally that I didn't realized. When I found out that notification, it was Late at Night.

The voucher says if I show the voucher in hotel reception, they will let me know the pick up time.
When I asked Sails in the desert recetion, a staff said they don't know.
I was at a loss that time.

I tried to figure it out several times (called to tour company, asked another hotel staffs, called to info.operation and so on) but I all failed.

I was almost gave up.

Luckly 'John' was passing by me and I asked him again.

He helped me out immediately.
He called somewhere and found out exact pick up time!

Thanks to JOHN I could enjoy beautiful Sunrise tour and the rest of my Uluru holday in Ayers Rock Resort.

John
Thank you so much ️

1. Sounds of Silence tour should not have recommended long sleeves and pants, and definitely not in 37 degree heat. My mother had heat stroke soon after sitting down, causing us to waste the $585. Tyler, the porter who helped her back to her room was fantastic, but the dinner should have been cancelled with that heat.
2. Our bins in the hotel room were not emptied for until the 5th day. Likewise, housekeeping popped in clean towels but did not restock the toiletries and coffees, so we had to get ours from the housekeeping trolley.
3. Our family astro tour was not booked, even though we had booked it in on the website months ago, and the tour remained on our booking. It took 3 days for Stevie to investigate this and confirm that we were not booked in. My daughter was deeply disappointed to have missed it.
4. The tour desk in the town square was unmanned for the entire 6 days that we were at the resort. Apart from Stevie, her colleagues were ill equipped to confirm the bookings and reservations.
5. Front seat staff could not confirm whether the BBQ at the Outback Pioneer was still running. I was literally told to "just go there and see what they had". In the same line, the information on your website does not match the information on the app regarding what is open and serving what.
6. The Pira Bar is listed on your app as having an extensive menu and open to 8: 30pm. This is definitely not the case. Imagine our disappointment when we went there at 5: 30 and discovered that he was closing up.
7. The airport shuttle would not come to the Lost Camel for our departure. We had to transport all our bags to Sails in the Desert. There was no offer to get a porter to move all the bags in a buggy or van. If my mother has been travelling on her own, this is certainly not something she could have managed.
8. We could not receive an itemised statement for our hotel and tours at checkout, instead only receiving a statement of our food and beverage. This is despite requesting a full itemised invoice. Either the Reception staff are grossly inept, or the booking system is grossly inadequate. This is particularly concerning as we will now have to trawl through the credit card statements and raise problems with the bank, rather than at Reception itself. Specifically, I have 2 confirmation emails for the Sounds of Silence and Field of Lights tours and I wanted to ensure that we were not charged double. Also my SEIT tour was cancelled due to the guide being unwell and I could not check if the tour fee was refunded.
9. What the Mangata restaurant considers a Poke bowl is completely ludicrous. The rest of the food was delightful and tasty, but that Poke Bowl is completely laughable.

1. The Uluru sunrise and Kata Tjuta tour run by AAT Kings was spectacular. Similarly the Field of Light tour was very enjoyable.
2. The Ilkari buffet dinner was delicious and the service was excellent
3. Stevie was friendly and knowledgeable but her 2 other colleagues were definitely wanting in efficiency and friendliness.
4. It is amazing to walk around Uluru and Kata Tjuta. I highly recommend the hop on hop off bus.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom Emu walk apartments. Great for families, very clean and spacious. All restaurants and cafes we ate at, had very quick and super friendly staff. All staff we encountered went above and beyond

I've been trying to change my booking for over a week, and they have not picked up the phone, or responded to any of the "contact us" forms I've submitted

WOW! What can I say. I have a medical condition at the moment which requires a special diet. We contacted the resort about 6 months out from our travel, as it had been booked well in advance, asking if they could help. They did not hesitate to accomodate my requirements, without their accomodating our needs I would have had to cancel the trip. They didn’t go above and beyond, they went to the very next level. Upon arrival Executive Chef Alexander met with me and my wife, he went over the entire menu he’d prepared for me for our entire stay. Throughout the whole week they kept checking in and making additional special arrangements, packed breakfasts and lunch for our day trips, arranged special food to be sent to our dinners and trips away from the resort. The wait staff also were made aware of my needs and fell over themselves to make our stay not just possible but so enjoyable. I can’t thank the resort and their team enough it was truly amazing. Next time we return we won’t hesitate to book there again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Your company staff, sail in the desert receptionist, Stevie, made this trip so special and touching to me. Your company has an AMAZING culture! Here is what happened.
On the first day of my long-expected holiday, I arrived at Ayer Rock airport via Jetstar, after landed the Jetstar staff told me my check in luggage was lost which included all my camping gear (sleeping bag, sleeping pad, changing cloths etc). All the passengers of the flight have gone, the last shuttle bus also gone. The staff of Herz, Owen, heard what happened to me and willingly lend his new tent to me. I only have a spare shirt with me and I told myself today I am gonna sleep on the grass ground but luck enough to have a tent at least. At night, I was passing by Sail at Desert hotel and tried to rent a few towers to sleep on them). After I told Stevie, the receptionist, what happened she showed great compassion. She knew I am on holiday and actively did all she can to help me out (she even asked me do I need a pillow!). I guess this kind of situation probably not in her job training, but what she did was really touching and helpful. As a business owner myself, I admire the culture of the Ayer Rock Resort company, and really appreciate to its amazing staff Stevie! This has made my trip so special that I will remember probably a life time. Ayer Rock people, rocks!

Discrimination on vaccination status, was not told prior to coming on the phone this was the case, drove 4 hours to be turned away at 4pm to have to drive back to Alice. It's a resort, should not be Discriminating on health status

We stayed at the Deluxe Rock View Room. The room was spacious and clean and view was spectacular. The reception staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. They arranged all the tours according to our plans, helped us with car booking and other reservations. They also assisted to seamlessly extend our booking and stay. We loved the service, especially by Rahul Kumar, Deepak and a lady staff whose name I can't remember now. Highly recommend.

This is by far one of the best resorts i’ve stayed at. The food is exceptional at Sails- especially given it is so remote. The staff are friendly and welcoming and whilst there are very high standards it is not pretentious. We extended our stay as we loved it so much here and didn’t want to leave. We loved bike riding around Uluru, the Field of Lights, outback sunsets, Kata Tjuta, free cultural activities put on by the resort like Bush yarns with Freddie, Bush Tukka with Leon & Freddie, Didgeridoo workshop with Dwayne, and dot painting. There is so much to explore here and the resort is a great place to base yourself. This is a beautiful example of outstanding Australian hospitality and is a credit to the staff who work here.

There's a lot to like here, but 95% of the staff have no idea what they're doing and service is super dodgy.

It's a great resort for the middle of the outback! Stuff to see and do, WiFi was surprisingly good and the Sails in the sand hotel was lovely to stay in. It's a bit pricey but you should expect that going out that way (harder to get stuff to).

Amenities were clean. The park itself had everything you need. You can get picked up for tours just outside the park. There is also a free shuttle bus that will take you around Yulara. There are many free activities you can do in the town centre.

The beds were good and the room basically clean - but very overpriced. We thought the room would have a view of Uluru but it didn't. Also, the toilet blocked on our last day.

Uncertain. About 50% unopened. Ques to get into the 2 lower cost cafe venues then 40 minute wait after ordering. Beer $11 as is glass wine, bottle wine $41. Im unsure problem is lack of staff or surplus maximising. IGA is a typical IGA, prices don't seem over inflated. Fuel is $1.90pl.

5 star accommodation in the desert, a great place to retreat to after a ong day seeing the inland marvels. Hard working staff, to make stay very comfortable.

Awesome customer service. Due to the current climate of COVID-19, our airline had to cancel our trip. Voyages refunded the cost in full within two business days. Cannot fault their service. Highly recommend to anyone and we will re-book when everything comes back as BAU.

The shuttle bus is a great idea in this heat. A range of hotels, camp ground and facilities for all budgets

What a great experience! Lots to do at the resort to learn about indigenous culture. Food a bit hit and miss but after a couple of days started to work out the tastiest and most affordable options at the resort. Super hot, be prepared.

A unique experience and extremely well run in all categories from bus shuttles to service at reception. All staff are pleasant and helpful and friendly. Field of Light, Segway around Uluru and Sounds of Silence are top class experiences.
