I recently completed the three day beginner joinery workshop and it was absolutely fantastic! I was a complete beginner at handling tools and went in quite nervous about how I would cope, especially with the power tools. Patt is such an amazing teacher, she has clearly spent many years refining her teaching skills and her style is calm, clear, patient and so informative in all aspects; a true master of her craft. I felt completely safe and supported the whole time and walked away with confidence and a newfound love of tools and wood! I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to gain skills and confidence with tools and woodwork.

Patt Gregory is not only wildly passionate about all things woodworking but she is equally enthusiastic about teaching it to others. This is a rare and magical combination. I had such a wonderful time. Patt's teaching style is incredibly clear, concise and detailed. This allows a depth of understanding to be conveyed, that is available anyone of any skill level. I learnt and retained so much of what I was taught. I walked away from a delightful 3 day workshop with the confidence and skills I needed to pursue my new found love of carpentry. I highly recommend this course for anyone! Especially those who want to learn the basics of how to build something, to use tools with more confidence and really just to learn more about the fascinating world of timber.

I loved this course! Patt really explains everything in a very detailed and comprehensive way, she has alot of experience and taught us building lingo, tools, technique, materials, useful products etc. I came back from this feeling very confident in my ability to start woodworking on my own.she even went through tools I had at home that I didn't know how to use.
I couldn't recommend this course enough! She is very thorough and supportive, it was absolutely lovely to have her as a teacher, I learnt and incredible amount in just the 3 days

I've done all kinds of courses over the years and very often I leave feeling that it was great - but I wish they covered this, and we had more time for that, but that was definitely not the case when I left Patt's Woodwork for Beginners workshop - it was everything that I hoped it would be and much more. So much content is covered in three days in a considerately paced way.

Patt is an amazing teacher - knowledgable, thorough, passionate and incredibly kind. If you're feeling nervous about any part of the process (including the math and measurement parts.) don't worry - you will feel totally comfortable in this very safe and accommodating learning environment.

You will walk away from this course with both the technical know-how to continue your woodworking journey autonomously, as well as with a self- confidence and trust that you can do so.

Highly recommend this course to anyone who is considering it.

Thanks for helping a circle gal see squares Patt! <3

What an amazing weekend. Patt has a great teaching style and makes learning a joy. She has a huge knowledge base and was willing and able to pass that on to us. The projects were great fun and it was the perfect balance of hand tools and power tools. Have already been to Bunnings checking out tools and timber. Liz was also a great help and a marvellous example of what can be achieved after learning from Patt.

Patt’s 3 day workshop was fantastic. It was a great weekend away and I learned so much. I am a complete beginner so it was perfectly paced over the 3 days to build my new skills.
I am thrilled with my shelf as well!

We travelled from interstate to do a 3 day joinery course with Patt & Liz. It was worth every minute! Booking was easy and smooth, with all the details we would need, not just for the workshop, but to visit the area for the weekend, fantastic location, close to Byron Bay, wish we’d stayed longer! We were warmly welcomed and quickly felt at ease. Patt is a masterful teacher, engaging, warm, with a lifetime of craftswomanship to generously share. We quickly bonded as a group and nothing was too much trouble. The pace and detail were perfect, incredibly well run, organised and enjoyable. Patt teaches more than just woodworking, but how to find joy and success as a woodworker, suitable for absolute beginners, but even with 4 years of woodworking experience, I learned plenty. Wonderful safe & friendly environment to learn in. It was grounding, empowering and I left with a real sense of achievement and confidence to go forward in my own woodworking projects. Thanks Patt & Liz! We’ll be back.

Pat was absolutely amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and has a unique way of teaching that makes you feel empowered. Very caring and made us all feel like we were at home, thank you! And a big thanks to Lizzy as well who is a great addition to Pats teaching style! We will definitely be back for more and will recommend to everyone!?

We did the 3 day beginners workshop - the perfect introduction! Feeling confident to start my own little projects!

Can't rave enough about Pat and the course. Pat is a natural teacher who is warm and welcoming and supportive. She covered a lot of topics but things never seemed rushed. She gave background information on the tasks as we did them including more detailed talks about the tools we were using which gave this overall feeling of context and appreciation for the craft. There was plenty of hands on time too, and Pat makes you feel well equipped to give it a go.
It was a perfectly balanced course - informative and also hands on, not rushed at all but also plenty to do, beginners topics but not at all dumbed down. Highly, highly, highly recommended. Thanks so much Pat!

I took Patt's 3 day joinery workshop for beginners. As someone who knew nothing about building what so ever, I learned so much from this course. You get exposure on how to use a wide range of hand held and power tools, and walk away with 2 projects that incorporate different joinery skills.

Patt is a really good teacher and I managed to do things with confidence under her clear instructions. If you're having difficulty, she'll show you how to overcome it but will not take over to do the task for you. The environment is also very open and forgiving, and I never once felt intimidated. As a woman I found that especially refreshing.

The course was structured really well too, I didn't find myself rushing or left waiting around. I couldn't recommend this course more. I was excited to get to class because it was so good! This course has definitely sparked an interest in building and woodworking, and I'm looking forward to continuing this journey.

I just did a dovetail workshop with Patt and Liz at Woodwork for Women! It was a great class, they tell you everything you need to know and support you every step of the way! And at the heart of it all is a love for timber and empowering people to have a go. This class focussed on one particular thing, dovetail joints, but other classes are more general and cover everything you might need to know. There is no assumed knowledge here and you can ask anything

I did the Basic Furniture Making workshop weekend and had such a brilliant time. Pat perfectly managed to teach a multitude of techniques effectively, whilst not assuming any prior knowledge or dumbing down the craft. I left feeling empowered and excited for getting stuck into projects. Cannot recommend any more highly!

Patt Gregory opened our first day with a brief background story, introduced us to Lizzy, and gave us an overview of what to expect during the three day course we were attending.

We learnt how to use both hand tools and power tools, and three basic useful joints.

Patt Gregory has a comprehensive understanding of timber and a passion and ability to impart her knowledge while patiently guiding and answering questions.

With Lizzie assisting her, they used their intuition to read any hesitation or doubts that any of us were feeling.

The "what, where, and why" of timber types and tool selection was delivered in such a way that the information was interesting, and easily comprehended.

I am very happy to recommend this course to anyone.

Patt is a talented professional woman with a genuine passion for sharing her skills and empowering those with an interest.

Couple that with the intimate learning environment, the company of women, and you have a fabulous, productive and likely, life enhancing, experience.

My only advice. Don't clean out your shed before the course. There are bound to be gems hiding.

I highly recommend the Basic Furniture Making course to anyone wanting to try their hands at a new craft. Patt & Lizzie were so attentive and positive and I felt very nurtured as I used power tools for the first time. Lots of fun and learning at the same time!
Don't hesitate - book a class soon!

I took part in the 3 day course in mid Nov 20 - from the get go and first point of contact, Pat was warm, friendly and exceptionally helpful!
And the course did not disappoint - I got home so motivated and used an old coffee table repurposed into my new work bench!
Pat & Lizzie were just awesome and it was never too much trouble to ask them a question.
Anyone who is looking to do some woodwork and would like to learn the basics, this is perfect! Whilst the type of stuff I make is say a little more rustic, this course gave me some great tips when working with wood!
Thanks ladies, I"ll be back!

Woodwork for Women is AWESOME! I did the 3 day workshop recently which was a wonderful experience that everyone should try! Patt and her assistant Liz are brilliant teachers, and lovely people. It's a well structured and balanced course that really inspires confidence. Teachers with expert knowledge, a perfect workshop set up, beautiful Mullumbimby rural views, and supportive female classmates; what more could you want!

The 3 day basic furniture making course with Patt was such an enjoyable weekend. We learnt about hand woods and soft woods, designed a project and wrote up a materials list, used hand tools and power tools and got so many useful tips along the way. Having completed the workshop I felt confident to dive into my own projects and that I could call on Patt and her woodworking women community for ideas and support. Highly recommend this workshop to others looking to learn new skills and to gain confidence in making boxes, shelves, cupboards and all sorts of useful items made from timber.

Patt's Woodwork course is a brilliant investment in practical woodworking skills. Easy to follow, machines to play with, lovely people to learn from and of course, the biggest drawcard of them all, Patt. Experienced, thoughtful, sensitive, fun, flexible, clever and kind. And I made a great jewellery stand!

Patt is a natural born teacher - that rarest of rare things. I did a four day course and learnt loads. For me the main and most useful learning was to use power tools with confidence. I no longer dread getting my electric drill out of the cupboard! This was a class for beginners and the best thing was that Patt assumed no knowledge on the part of her students and without in anyway patronising:), us she took our group through all the necessary steps to get us familiar with each tool (powered and manual) to the point of actually being able to use them. Patt answered questions thoughtfully and succinctly, was encouraging and patient and the atmosphere she creates is one of friendship and fun. She bakes really good cakes too!
