The beautiful Vaucluse House is a great setting for Yayoi Kusama's Narcissus Garden. The reflective balls are at home both inside and outside in the fountain.

Historical sites, staff are friendly. Enter the attraction through a student special of 12AUD. Beautiful furnishings, bigger than the other houses visited before.

Beautiful gardens and original home and estate of the Wentworth's in Sydney. There is a hidden waterfall to be find at the rear of the estate.

Edit: I have updated my review from two years ago due to a recent unpleasant experience.

Original review: Such an amazing place to visit. Well kept and peaceful. The audio tour is a great addition.

Updated review: A recent visit was marred by an interaction with a volunteer. She asked why I was wearing a face mask, and if I had a condition. This was totally inappropriate to ask me. I wore a face mask because I had checked the Sydney Living Museums website in the morning, where they stated that face masks aren’t mandatory, but encouraged. I should not be questioned on wearing a face mask during a pandemic. I honestly feel worried if this volunteer questions people who actually do have a medical condition that requires them to wear face masks. People should not have to explain or defend wearing a face mask.

Lovely location with beautiful grounds and coastal breezes. Unfortunately we were directed into the roof despite plenty of free tables outside. We have ordered our lunch for 5 of us and waited above average time for our burgers preparation. We have enjoyed all of it. Unfortunately for me, my burger was sitting heavy in my stomach. After over 4 hours my stomach revolted and all the content ended up in the toilet. Have no idea why it has happened.
Also the bill for a few burgers and potato chips was way to high. So that I do warn anyone. We had to pay over $150 for that pleasure. And do not try upsetting the waiters as things may do happen!

High tea was delicious and beautiful ambience, but service was a bit slow and inattentive. 3 requests for our tea which came after our scones? !

A beautiful historic house with impressive gardens. Guided tours are a very interesting way to learn about Sydney's colonial history.

Its a beautiful location with parking onsite. The staff are friendly and easy to work with. We were allowed in early to set up cameras, screen and projector for the family. Thank you Vaucluse house and we look forward to working with you again.

Beautiful garden to wander thru plenty of parking.brilliant museum. This is how our history should be preseved. The tea house is lovely alfresco or indoor dining. Great Service. But for a Tea House NO SCONES ON THE MENU! But the hand cut chips are to die for. Only a short walk to oue stunning Sydney Harbour.my dear mum lived in Coolong road as a small child, the preschool teacher would walk along the street and call from front gate of homes, the children would then follow single file to the lawn by the fountain in front of Vaucluse house were Miss Ham would hold preschool. Mum is only 100 yrs old and enjoyed revisiting after many years, was funny to hear her say that she would sit by the fountain and eat her homemade biscuits her mother had sent with her and Mum’s words “ they were delicious. The Tallest Bunya tree in the gardens was Brought back from Papua New Guinea by my Grandfather Captain Surtees Rothery about 1925. I’m very proud of this history and so please mum is still with us to share the memories.

Bring a picnic rug and a picnic lunch here! You can eat it on the lovely grounds for free - but the house is worth it too: A well-cared-for historic house & gardens, and an easy five stars due to the amazing guides. We had a really well presented tour with Graham, and equally knowledgeable Steve answering questions too. Value for money is incredible considering the knowledge they have about the place.
By the way, do note that basically every less-than-five-stars review here is an accidental review intended for the nearby similarly-named cafe, *not* this museum. (But the cafe *is* conveniently placed to grab a coffee!)

We had a wonderful afternoon tea here. The food was unique - not just what you can get anywhere. Special attention was given to our guests with dietary requirements and the staff were all very attentive. Thank you for a great experience!

Our Probus Club of Coorparoo Brisbane spent a very interesting 2 hours at Vaucluse House. The temperatures outside were in the mid 30s yet, the house was very cool. Our guide was very enthusiastic and made our tour very interesting. It is a beautiful house and the history of the Wentworth Family worth the tour.

Very disappointed. I have been to quite a few High Tea's and loved them. This one, not so much. Service was extremely slow, very little food compared to other's I have had. Food not so nice, sandwiches awful and not enough savouries. To end it off they had charged us for coffee's that were inclusive in the set price, which I might add was expensive for what we got.
