This builder doesn’t even deserve one star, I am a resident of 1 church ave mascot, and in a process of reporting you to fair trading and whatever it takes to let many people know how your job is done. Get ready for it! You really should not build anything!

Worst building quality ever seen in my life! Cheapest interior disappointing all owners and guests! See tile falling off from attached photo, which took from two years old 'luxury apartment' building. Surprise those customer left five star review, really? Look at realestate.comm.au more than 20x units available for sale, my neighbour lost 170K for his 2bd apartment.

We spoted the water leakage in our bedroom on 23rd March and then found the black mold in the living room near the window. Already sent to strata, no single reply.

This is what happened in our apartment

John came to inspect the defects on 31rd, including 1) the water leakage under the carpet, 2) the mold in the living room 3) the crack up to the ceiling in the living room, 4) the widening gap between the wooden frame and the window.

John use bucket of water to test at the balcony, he believe the gap between the bedroom window and the balcony is where the rain water came from. And he removed the carpet edge and as shown in the photo the floor is still wet and the wooden frame is full of black mold. John said he will have someone to change both the frame and the carpet but he hasn’t confirmed the date yet. But for the balcony window gap, James will come to fix it 1st April 7: 00, he mentioned that the tiles of the balcony have to be removed and then they will do water proof on it. James will also inspect the bad sealing problems of the living room window, the water vapor came through the gap may caused the mold inside the living room wall.

And the action above will solve the problems of 1) 2) and4). For the defect 3) the fixing date has not been decided yet.

We asked one day off on 1st of April and James sent someone to our apartment in the morning, the guy came with NOTHING at his hands and take a walk on our balcony and went away and saying “ I don’t have proper tools I cannot check and do anything about it” What are your employees thinking about? You are wasting our precious health, time, energy and money! Your staff came here to check the problems with nice attitude but end up failing to deliver what they promised. We don’t have time to waste. My wife already spent a lot on Psychologists and specialists, she is not feeling well since the mold showed. I don’t know what will happen if your staff still do nothing about it. Proper work need to be done, only checking the problems will not solve the problems!

Update of my defects maintenance

Finally they promised to fix it on 1st of April and told us work will finish within 2-3 weeks, and more than one month passed (10th May) the work still hasnot finished. And last week we were been told the carpet will be changed and then man in charge of the maintaince never answered the phone call! After trying to contact him many many times, he texted us saying the carpet was changed. But we already checked the carpet, there is still the old marks on it! ! It is still the OLD CARPET! They treating their customers like fools!

It was a nightmare dealing wih such kind of people! We still cannot rent our apartment ouf, we are suffering financially and mentally because of TOPLACE!

Contrary to their name, quality is incredibly poor and builder is not wanting to fix major building defects. The committee is now in a legal battle to have defects resolved with Toplace.
Do yourself a favour and don't buy buildings built by Toplace.

Atrocious waterproofing quality. If you buy a property from Toplace and you are within liability period get yourself a defects expert!

We bought the Joyln place pre-sale one a couple of years ago, and now finally got the key last week.the entire service is brillant, and the building staffs are very professional and responsible.big thank to Thomas, Jacob and also Steve. Some tiny stuff that I told them they always solve them quicker than I expected.

Thank you Top Place for delivering Jolyn Place. The apartments look exactly like how they were advertised. I can't comment on the build professionally as I don't own other apartments but I'm happy with it overall.

Also wanted to thank top place's customer relations manager Thomas as he is extremely helpful and responsive to my questions. He also checks for me on the small things / minor issues and ensure them being looked at asap.

We bought one of the Apartments in the Atmosphere Building in Castle Hill developed by Toplace. The apartment is beautiful and comfortable to live in. The best parts about living here is the views we have over Castle Hill through to the Blue Mountains.
Peter from Top Place has been very helpful with any small issues we've had and has been quick to respond with help.
Overall the experience from Purchasing the Apartment to the day we moved in and beyond has been very good.

I had Peter and James help with an issue in my apartment, amongst others I'm sure. I found both men easy to deal with and they were responsive and prompt with my emails and calls. At the core of the work they did for me was a desire to help me in my situation. They were willing to go above what I had expected of them and were always considerate of my needs. They even delayed their scheduled work to accomodate a personal issue I was having at the time. Overall, very easy to work with and want what's best for the client. Would recommend their services to others.

We have had a water proofing issue confirmed by the plumber for 2.5 weeks Causing water from our en-suite to pool into our entire main bedroom. We have mould growing on all our clothes and shoes. The builder has not been to say when he can fix it or even bothered to call us and the last we heard was us calling strata to confirm when this will be over a week ago to no answer. We have had to move out of our bedroom and into the dining room because of old water under our floor boards that no one has aired out and is obviously choosing to be negligent about people’s health. I have asthma and mould is obviously not healthy for anyone to be breathing in let alone someone with a lung condition. It’s not right. Do better.

Do not believe the fake 5 stars review. The defects you will get when you buy your property will be hard to list, they have a nice and apologetic team to handle the defect but they can't do anything right as their hands were tied by their higher ups. They just can't say it but you can read between the lines.

Toplace staff have always shown the highest level of professionalism and care during and even after our time with them. We were highly impressed with their level of commitment to ensure that we were comfortable, well-informed and well supported all throughout the purchase of our new apartment. Extremely happy with our experience, thank you again for looking after us.

What a shambles. While the owner of Top place buys his wife yellow expensive cars, we are left with a unit (Caste; Hill) which would not make the standard in a third world country. My wife and I were in tears when we first entered our unit. We paid nearly a million dollars for something which was not liveable. Shame on you Top Place. The unit still does not have working smoke detectors, extraction fans, which are critical. Let alone stove tops not working, GPO's not working because they are full of dried paint, drummy tiles, gyprock screws exposed, carpet not laid properly, gaps in tiling, scratches in benchtops, sub standard fittings, the list goes on. Then, there is the common property.water leaks, grates that cannot support cars driving over them, fire detection systems still reporting faults. Top place should have their development license revoked, yet they are still allowed to keep building. And yes, I am a customer of Top Place, despite what they may respond with. But I do not use my real name in fear of retribution. That is what they rely on, fear. One has to ask how does the owner and people like the operations manager, Larissa Mouawad, sleep at night? Because I don't sleep well at all! And if only I could apply zero stars.the only way I could post this is selecting one star.and that is 100% more than what Top Place deserve! And let me add, I have reported all of my defects, twice. Do you think they have sorted them out? No. Is it worth my while going to the authorities.probably not. And this is what they, Top Place, rely on. Don't criticize them as there may be an impact on the value of your property, or the rental return on the investor units. So, there is all of this subtle pressure to not speak up, otherwise it may impact your unit value or rental return. This is what Top Place, relies on. Don't be fooled. You need to speak up, let the authorities now what is going on. Pester your local member, radio jock, local paper journalist, your neighbor. If you don't, know one else will!

Poor quality workmanship, cheap materials, defects and cracks all over the buildings, common areas and extremely slow resolution, but when it comes to settlement, they want purchasers to pay right on time no delay. They then ran away (extremely hard to reach out) and did not take responsibility/accountability to resolve major defects in the buildings on time. Even after dispute is raised, this builder tried to buy more time and delay response - they just don’t take accountability!

Dispute raised has cost owner corporation a lot of money and yet still no resolution from this dodgy builder because they kept buying more time and tried to run away as far and fast as possible. The occupancy certificate should have never been issued in the first place, but somehow they managed to get it issued with many defects and cracks still outstanding, probably because the certifier is also dodgy and associated with this builder.

We can only hope the state government introduce much tougher legislation one day and teach a lesson to this dodgy developer, and get this builder to address defects with their previously completed projects.

Highly recommended to NEVER EVER purchase any property from this developer - DO NOT EVER trust your money investing in property built by Toplace!

I purchased an apartment off Toplace, and was overly pleased with what I received. Further, it was priced well and they assisted me to find tenants immediately.

AS SEEN ON A CURRENT AFFAIR: The quality of these apartments are poor. I lived in one in Mascot that they built and it was absolute junk. The walls rattled, the kitchen was falling apart, there were water leaks in the bedroom, noise vibration just to name a few. The only good I can say they are very large. Quality gets a minus.

Toplace are ridiculous. Agree with each and every 1 star rating here. Complete bullies.
Not only do they get their friends to post false 5 star ratings they also take accurate reviews down. Luckily I take screen grabs.
