The Carrington Hotel reviews
60This is a noisy hotel and the management seems to think nothing about making a racket early in the morning.
Great little pub and hotel in Katoomba, it's a really large venue, much larger than I expected and you can order food there as well. It's got an old feel to it and kind of looks like something from The Great Gatsby. Really welcoming overall and it's got an old fashioned antique look on the outside and has a seating area indoors and outdoors.
Ah only 8 months ago.waltzed in there desperate to spend a penny. My drugs cause fluid loss.almost immediately as you sense it. We sat down a had a single glass of mulled wine. Only thing missing was more colder air and icicles hanging off my Woman Seducing Moustache. I know its not MoVember yet.but my neatly trimmed beard and Mo are certainly better than some of the Millennial hirsute chaps that abound trendy Katoomba. There's the Ned Kelly style or the Ned Kelly where he's avoiding to coppers.or the Ned Kelly style where he's wearing armour and is about to be captured by the the Coppers. Some beards are so space.it looks like a pubic rash. Sadly they're accompanied by really spunky women who obvious have no taste in a well cut male.
Duke and dutchess of york staid there in the 1920s and me in 2019! Elegant old style complete eith creaking floorboards. Central heating with hotwater into grids in rooms flow you can adjust. The duke and dutchess would not have had a spa bath. I did. Place is under a heritage order built in 1822. Impressive. Good staff
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here in this heritage hotel. From classic vintage style rooms with beautiful high ceilings and lead light windows throughout. Very comfortable bedding and lovely styled bathrooms to complement the aesthetic of the hotel. Read a book or sip wine by the fireplaces or play a game of snooker in the dedicated games room. Enjoy a Devonshire tea or coffee on the big verandah and soak up the magic of the Blue Mountains. I'll be back again.
Wonderful customer service! There was a good variety of food for high tea and the room was wonderful! I was in the middle of the room and the piano was loud enough to drown out the conversation of other tables around us and the room was magnificent
My mother had a wonderful time at the mothers day high tea, and I would definately recommended this experience to everyone =]
A wonderful place to enjoy Katoomba from. The staff are lovely and the atmosphere makes you feel in the period. The pool table and snooker tables have kept us amused during our stay.
We were made very special they went out of there way to make us comfortable food was amaising would stay again at a drop of a hat thanks again f o r great stay Jill and kay
We went for drinks after a wedding, and because it was a large group, they asked us to move a few times. I thought considering how much we were spending, they may have been more accommodating. Duty manager helped sort it out, and then it was easier. Drinks are very strong - that can be good or bad, depending on how you like them!
Nostalgic hotel with pockets of history throughout.
Great ambiance around the huge fireplace in the evening.
Looking forward to staying again.
Grand old hotel conveniently located near the train station. The property is mostly updated, though not all rooms have air conditioning. There are lots of elegant spaces to explore, including a billiards room, library, and dining hall where the healthy breakfast buffet is served.
If you are looking for a stay at an old traditional hotel, then this is the place. Breakfast included. Downside.lots of stairs and you have to carry your own luggage to your room. There is an old lift that goes between floor.fun to try at least once.
This hotel offers a journey back in time to a very different era. It is an elegant and well maintained hotel. If you want modern luxury this is not for you. If you desire a romantic and quintessential 19th Century Blue Mountains experience, the Carrington is centrally located and is not to be missed.
Ahhh.been a favourite of mine for +30 years. The old girl still has style. Food and service superb. Open fires. Jazz. Pure nostalgia.
We were fortunate enough to spend the evening at the hotel! Allowing us to experience the restaurant and wonderfully appointed bar. The accommodation was elegant and clean. The staff were helpful and welcoming. Nothing bad to say.
A totally amazing experience. I took a lovely visitor from China to dinner here. She was almost swooning with the amazing piano n playing and excellent food.
A historic location but nicely appointed. No air conditioning in my room so it was a bit stuffy despite perfect weather.there was a pedestal fan to move some air around. Windows opened (nice view of the valley in the distance) but the noise of machines outside was a bit of an issue.
Good friendly service.
Sets the benchmark for style and comfort. The staff are friendly and gracious and they actually answer the phone when you call. Our stays have been a delight and we are more than happy to endorse this most wonderful and beautiful institution. We love her!
Really beautiful old hotel in Katoomba - didn't stay, but had food and drinks - nice atmosphere and great old-school vibe.
Walking into the Carrington Hotel is like walking into a Poirot or Miss Marple set.
The decorations, the furniture are fantastic.
We grabbed a couple of drinks and went and sat the Lounge. What a great experience.and well worth a visit.
