Star Car Wash - Manly

This is the last time I use this location. After a full 90 minutes wait I had to get them to clean the obviously dirty wheel arches before I left. It hadn’t been dried properly so there were streaks all over the doors - and when I got home it was obvious that the front grille hadn’t been touched - I’ve asked for a refund and will wait and see…

The signage says free coffee with clean. I felt like a break and coffee so I decided to go in. After paying for the clean ($57) I asked for my coffee, only to be told the girl who does coffees is away and so they're not making coffees, instead I could choose a cold drink from the fridge which I didn't feel like. The cafe where you sit is a bit grubby and not an appealing place to relax. The clean at the end was average but not good enough to go back. I just feel the coffee thing should have been explained when you arrive and/or a few $ taken off the price

Filthy car after a long road trip. They did a great job with the platinum car wash. When I picked up they invited me to inspect the car and fixed any issues. Great service by very enthusiastic staff. Been supporting this business for years and will continue to do so.

In response to the “owner” I am reading review after review with similar complaints and all the customer gets is a “sorry”. Not good enough star wash. The whole business model is to scam.

Avoid it if you can.
I needed the full clean of my car - left it with them at 8: 45am, and agreed to pick it up at 3: 30. Paid full top price. Came to pick up the car at 3: 30 they said they need another 10 minutes. Told them I can't give them any more time, that I need the car immediately. As they gave the keys back to me I noticed smudges on the windows and outside, so asked them to clean it up. 5 minutes later get a car dripping with water - all the mats were soaked, (still drying 24 hours later) but as I was in rush didn't really pay full attention to it, parked it and rushed to kids activities. This morning I unlock the car I find it sprayed with oil all over but nothing was rubbed off, wherever I touch is greasy. Smudges all over the inside of the car, spray staines everywhere. (I have pictures to prove it) Middle of the car console not vacuumed at all. I thought about going back but what's the point arguing I don't need that in my life. So I spent 45 minutes cleaning it after them. Top it all - I just realised they "borrowed" full and new packet of car cleaning wipes. It would have been great if they used the wipes to clean my car rather than that greasy oil with few drops of peppermint oil in it. They did great job vacuuming - the bits they vacuumed - but it was not worth $350.00. You need a good honest proper car wash - you go to Ecospray at Beacon Hill - they are slow but do incredible cleaning. I wish they were closer to me.

I left the car for a full detail at 8.30 yesterday, I said I will not be back until 12.00.
Called at 11.30 and told car not done will not be ready ubtil 4.30. Arrived at 4.30 car not ready.
Did not check car before leaving, stupid me. They had s ratches a number of pkacees aling the rear bumper, how no idea but suspect one of the machines was not in place properly and ran along top of bumper.
Was not happy with service, should have picked up car and not let them complete.
I will never return. 1 star is one too many.

Asked the gentlemen there if they could vacuum and clean my seats then asked if they could clean the top of my roof on the outside. They said it was too much work and it would cost $300. I stated this was very expensive so to just clean and vacuum the front interior only. They charged me $200. When I picked my car up an hour later and got home I noticed that there was still dirt around the door handles and several other areas. For $200 they did an average job at best.
Funny thing is they said cleaning the top of the roof was too difficult. I ended up doing it myself in 15 minutes.
Also my car was parked at the front with the door wide open and the keys just sitting on the front seat which was an easy invitation for a thief. There was absolutely no one around. Actually in hindsight I’d rate this service as rather appalling.
As a northern beaches resident I will not recommend this company ever again to any friends or customers. $200 for a job I felt was lazily done and irresponsible behaviour leaving the car unlocked, unattended and with the keys in full view.

Just left this place and still shacking. The car was clean if not spotless, I usually very pedantic to the quality of car wash. However, $50 note, I stupidly left in between the seats compartment, has gone.
The guys checked the CCTV, assured me no one had access to this compartment and told me it’s illegal to get inside/open the compartment, without owner’s permission.
I was so close to call the police, but it’s my word against theirs and I was already too upset, not so much with money loss but with the fact - that I know someone has stolen valuables from my car and I can’t prove that.
Lesson is learnt - don’t leave anything valuable inside your car when take it to this place.

Went for a wash to this place, pointed at and verbally confirmed the $57 option, and was told it would be an hour. Came back and was told we were being charged $92. When I queried this I was told “we washed the car three times”. Unacceptable, we were scammed out of our money, and to top it all off, the car had been washed rather haphazardly. Dust remained through all of the interior, still some dirt on the outside. Star car wash gets one star from me

The guys are very friendly. However, this is the second (maybe third) time I’ve been to collect my van and it’s still dirty. I had to ask the guy to go over the exterior with a cloth again as there were still cobwebs on the mirrors, rear lights and dirt on the doors and the dashboard. Probably won’t go back there again. I could have done a better job.

Terrible wash, they always misses parts of the car. Don’t vacuum thoroughly or clean the interior properly. To top it all off when they ask for customer feedback no one gets back to you from 3 emails and multiple calls to their customer service number. Would not recommend anyone use this car wash

Broke my fuel cap and my parking sensors, Audi have quoted $938 to fix them. I’ll just wash my car myself from now on.

Good coffee and banana bread and very friendly service. Early mornings quite busy. Best time around 10.30am. My car was ready within the 90 minutes estimated.

Every time they overcharge and the job is terrible. My 10 year I’l old neighbour does a better job for $10

Money was robbed from the middle compartment (armrest) of my car. It was wrapped around 2 kids zoo passes, under some paperwork with sun glass case on top of it. I he led it was there before I left the car as I took my credit card with me and saw the cash. The staff dug into the compartment and took the money. They did not clean or need to clean the compartment because there was too many items inside.
When I spoke to the manager about it, he refused to believe anyone in his company would rob money from a car. We checked the cameras and saw the exact staff that were in my car, he refused to search them and their belongings and told me to call the police. He also mentioned one of his family members was the staff who went into my car!
I called the police, a formal report was made and this matter is now being investigated.
When you leave your vehicle with belongings in your car and you pay good money for a company to service it, the very least you should expect it they do a good job, don’t damage your property and certainly don’t steal you property or valuables. This is the first and last time I will ever use StarCarWash in Manly.
Theft is not not acceptable of any kind. And no it’s not naive to expect not to be robbed from a “reputable” company and their staff. That’s why you pay good money for their service.
Disgraceful behaviour and disgraceful management to allow and condone this behaviour with no repercussions. What happened to, ‘ the customer is always right? !

I’ve taken my car there twice for a clean/polish and both times I have been thoroughly disappointed. Interior of car was not vacuumed properly with visible debris. Polish left behind on the car with white streaks throughout. Bird droppings not properly cleaned off. Rims still very dirty. Will never be going back there.

I payed for the platinum as well as extra for a 4W drive. The bed still had leaves in it, the tires weren't completely done and they forgot one of the mirrors. I think they were short staffed which isn't fair but it was there for 3 hours. Don't pay before its done!

Excellent wash & vacuum with tyres painted as well. Completed in time frame promised. No complaints. Highly recommended.

I was in a hurry this morning and the guy who greeted me ensured my car was washed and cleaned very professionally whilst I relaxed with a delicious coffee all in 45 mins. They were friendly and welcoming and will visit again.
