Royal Randwick Racecourse reviews
66I now understand why so many young people visit the races. Great atmosphere. Drinks and good looking well dressed people. A sport truly for royalty.
Everything was good except the food was a bit expensive and the seating was not arranged very well the racing was great
Lovely day again a bit warm bit humid company was fine going to beers with low in or beautifully thank you again Simo
Pros\;Great place to watch racing.
Admission is cheap.
Drinks not too badly priced
Cons
Plastic glasses only in public areas
Too many security staff are thuggish and were happy try and walk through me and my female friend.
Don't get to the track much these days but here is great. Clean facilities, watchful security that act well but don't get in your way uneccasarely and great racing. Nothing like a day at the track.
Love going to Randwick Racecourse for the races. Incredible experience on a sunny day, especially if you’re up
First time visit to attend a concert & I was really impressed. A very controlled venue we felt safe & comfortable together with my kids.
A beautiful racecourse, much better than it appears on raceday broadcasts. The facilities, including those for the general public are of a very good standard.
Difficult to access using public transport due to light rail construction. Once there great conference venue. Shame we weren't allowed to sit outdoors for lunch.
Not alot of signage to parking but once we found it there was plenty of parking. All staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating. Maybe not a great deal of shade in the non members areas but still a great day out.
Members area was a disgrace. No food, inadequate facilities and general mayhem. The ATC need to improve service if they want to attract large crowds.
Nothing like watching a horse race past you at full speed! Toilets were superb. Lines for refreshments moved quickly. Cleaners were spectacular; removing rubbish from the grounds. Security very responsive and tactful.
Always a fun day out. Enough said.
Allow a little extra time to travel there via public transport into the light rail project is completed.
Its a great place.when empty. I just came here to take my final exam and the testing environment wasn't as pressuring. Plenty of windows with great views of the race course. Enuf said.
Great experience esp when you’re with great people. Staffs esp the one at grandview resto were great. Foods are okay, maybe the waiting time could be improved. But, overall experience was excellent.
Greta racecourse, set up is pretty good and reminds me of some of the better racecourses from back home in England.
Got the bus to the track, the council had free buses, had to go early to get a good seat. Very clean people continually cleaning up. Crowd was good, had a police presence which is good. Great experience n something you can do by yourself
This is great venue. Both the public areas and the member's areas are well maintained and the grounds kept in excellent condition. Getting to and from the racecourse is easy as they have direct (and free) buses from Eddy Ave at Central station. Even at peak times, they tend to move people fairly quickly and there isn't much of a wait. In the public areas there are usually promotional vans and food trucks, especially on the big racing carnival days. It public area can get very busy though. So, be prepared for to rub shoulders with most of Sydney. You won't usually have to wait long for drinks, betting facilities or toilets though. In my experience, they have plenty of all available. If you can get into the member's area, it's much more spacious. The carvery is good too. You can get a hot lamb or pork roll, or a super fresh (and very delicious) salad. Sandwiches and sushi are also available, but if you're keen on something a little more adventurous, then the food trucks in the forecourt of the main area might be more up your alley. Overall, this is a great place to spend an afternoon.
Doesnt cater to the punter/racing enthusiast.more about young party types and events other than racing.the old Randwick was a great racecourse.sadly no more.
We hosted a corporate function at RR and were super impressed by not only the location, the quality of variety of food, the drink range and of course the fantastic service. The staff were so friendly and attentive that it made the day a real pleasure. The view onto the racecourse was also stunning and watching some of the horses train also added an extra element of uniqueness to the venue
