Royal Flying Doctor Service Visitor Experience reviews
59 Must visit if you haven't visited yet.
Worth of watching short movie and going through all details of the museum.
An excellent experience. Interactive. Very well worth a visit. Cafe serves delicious food at a good price. Great coffee.
Excellent attraction great ambassadors to meet you on arrival.very informative well presented thoroughly enjoyed my time at centre highly recommend.great value for money
We both found our visit to the Royal Flying Doctor Service was an inspiring and moving experience. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the Dubbo area. It is extremely well run, the displays are interactive and the ambassadors bring the whole experience alive with their passion, enthusiasm and interesting stories to share. The cafe does lovely food and coffee too. Highly Recommended
What a fabulous place to visit! I learnt a lot about the RFS. Wanted to visit for ages when I heard the place had opened. And finally did in July 2021 definitely recommend! There is a retired aircraft to look at, hands on things to see and watch. All Covid safe. Staff were great too.
I wasn't expecting much from this place but frankly it was worth the time. I was amazed by the work these guys are doing to help people at remote areas and their dedication in explaining their approach and arrangements
Small but nice info centre to learn about how mero al emergency supports are provided in rural and unreached regions of Australia
It is great facility equipped with high technologies describing the importances and great works of Flying Doctors. At the start of exhibition there are some displays of histories and a large interactive round sensored screen. Inside the main exhibition, there are many big screens for a movie show, a real aeroplane and a pretend plane (which you can take photo and email). There are also some displays of doctor rooms and dentist room. There are many helpful volunteers who very nice and friendly. We recommended to buy the tickets using dubbo experiences to get 20% discounts (bundled with zoo tickets and old gaol).
The staff are so helpful and take visitors for an orientation through the centre before leaving you to explore at leisure. There’s a great mix of personal accounts and information about the service itself. There are lots of interactive exhibits to keep things interesting for kids. It’s worth watching the short movie that periodically plays to hear some real accounts of how the service has helped remote families.
The facility is in great condition, easy to park, well signposted and the staff were very keen to help. The wall mounted displays and billboards were full of information. The highlights were the various interactive displays that presented the technical challenges and often gut-wrenching medical emergencies being dealt with daily by the service. Powerful experience. Highly recommend, as long as you're prepared to read and listen. Smaller kids benefit from a minder leading them through the exhibits.
Every 5 star review was accurate. Don't miss doing the experience when in Dubbo or Darwin where they have opened another centre. It is excellent.
Myself and the kids both really enjoyed this, plenty of interactive fun learning for the kids to do. The ambassadors were very passionate and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend this one.
Kids loved it as well as us adults. I was surprised and impressed with the size of the place. Would highly recommend.
Very nice place to discover, learn about their services and the RFC.
The stuff was very kind, helpful and informative.
Hi guys, I'm biased as I do work here but big g keeps pestering me.so here is my rating. Great spot to take the kids on school holidays and weekends. Massive insight into what the Royal Flying Doctors Service actually does as it's not just an emergency service provider. Go n check it out and grab a quick feed at the outback cafe to recharge your stomach battery while you are there. Uber friendly staff and some great interactive activities. Super great adventure for some of the antiquities on display as well!
Fabulous stuff. We'd seen the one in Alice Springs and my brother was (years ago!) the Health Inspector at Winton, where this all started. So this was a very satisfying augmentation. This display - centre was very informative and the staff were positive and thoroughly welcoming.
Excellent exhibition of Flying Doctor emergency services. Hands on exhibition with excellent displays A must visit when in Dubbo.
What a great job that has been done to give us an opportunity to see what the RFDS does. A place well worth a visit.
It brought back many memories of when I was on secondment to them from NSW Air Ambulance. Fabulous presentation. Could have spent lots more time there.
The story's that come to life. They show you inside planes an inside treating rooms. Kids love this visual effects and so did we
