Service manager told me it didn't matter if they did damage my vehicle, they had insurance that covered the cost of fixing it.
This comment was after they "may have" put the wrong lubricants in my haldex diff and coincidentally needed to have it rebuilt a short time later (not covered by any insurance and not at Rockdale VW)

When I purchased my vehicle here I brought the extended warranty. When my vehicle outside of 3 years the infotainment broke down.
I bought my vehicle back to dealership, they have told me my extended warranty is not valid due to first service I done through other vw dealer.
How ridiculous was that, the sales didn’t tell me when I brought he extended warranty not even highlight the important clauses, if I don’t service here the warranty will be void.
That was a nice setup.

Would love an explanation of how a salesperson can offer to sell a vehicle at an agreed price over the phone, but when you arrive for an inspection he tells you the price has gone up. Is this one of those tricks to get me to your showroom and bully me into paying more? Very poor show Rockdale VW.

Unable to respond on the thread - see my response below:

Thanks for your reply
I had offered a value between my original price and your price, The salesman pushed me up further to a value that he said VW was able to complete and in addition offered to throw in 3 month rego. It was a firm offer from VW and not an offer from me! He even asked for a deposit to hold the vehicle. Do you record your customer conversations? - have a listen! Its not acceptable.

Competent as you would expect when paying premium $$ for servicing. Staff are nice but struggle answering phones, callbacks usually required.

Thank you Rockdale Volkswagen for having a excellent staff called Warren. Hanged up on the customer, poor customer service over the phone.

Not a good servicing centre or customer service, particularly when you dont agree with what they say or try to contact for after service. Here is my story.

Early morning on April 29 2021, dropped my 2014 tiguan for rego inspection. During the day I was advised that REAR LEFT light globe/bulb (never used since the purchase of the vehicle) was not working. So I had a few text message exchange with service advisor and I approved the replacement of the globe for rego inspection to pass.

Few days later (on 6th May) I checked the rear fog lights and... Surprise! The REAR LEFT fog light is not working. Tried calling them to resolve, then sent separate emails to service manager and service advisor, sent text messages to service advisor. During the text exchange with service advisor, i also demanded to talk to someone and no assistance there. Still no resolution and no luck to talk to someone when I call their service phone number. What a waste of my time effort and money.

Anyone who is thinking or planning to service your car here beware.

What deadbeats just wanted to buy a fuse spare parts are clueless and dealership won't tell you what amps are unless you book it in to workshop won't be servicing car there and I consider not having reverse camera a safety issue thanks for no help! Any response? One more thing spare parts is across the road at the Toyota dealership so why not buy a Toyota.

Hope they improve! I had dealings with this site in late 2019. They promised 3 years free national servicing and did NOT attach the three years to my vehicle purchase.leaving me to chase it up later after I moved. Hold them accountable and get it all in writing (thankfully I did).

Don't know where to start, other than to provide the headline "Don't Go".
Feb 2020, MK5 Golf GTI recalled for ABS contol unit to be replace in general recall.
Thy hydraulic pump that was working wen the car was dropped off, suddenly became faulty and require fixing at a cost of $4.5k
After several discussion about the fact that it broke under their care, I took the car back as they were determine to charge me for the a new pump at the new discounted price of $3.5k
When I picked the car up, they had not installed the battery, just left it leaning against the engine. I found this out when putting shopping in the boot I found the battery cradle and checked the engine to find it in a shocking state, leaning on the engine!
I called them and they sent some to my house to put the battery back in place.
Still wanting to charge me $3.5k for the new hydraulic pump I called a garage in Hurstville to come and perform a recon of the unit. They arrived and within 15 mins, laughing told me there was nothing wrong with my current unit, just that Rockdale VW had not applied the contol software properly.
VW Rockdale. 1 star is 1 too many.

My finance application got rejected last year, then I had to get another brand.
No idea why they put finance billboards everywhere but can’t sell enough VW in this country.
I think VW are doing their worst job in Australia because of its weak dealer network.

Their arrogance baffled me and their incompetence astounded me. Booked my vehicle in for a 4 year service a couple of weeks prior, detailing four points of concern and the scheduled service required (including providing the mileage). This included one issue which required a replacement part number which I provided (taken from the part that had broken). On arrival at the dealership, I was questioned as to where I obtained the part number, and informed that it had not been ordered as they were unsure what part it was or how I got the number; I asked why they hadn’t called me to ask this prior to which I was quickly dismissed.a sign of the quality of service that would follow. I was then quoted a $176 diagnostic fee to investigate the issues quoted. Later in the day, I received a phone call saying that the spare part for which the part number was indeed correct had been ordered and would be installed the next working day for collection. At the end of the next working day, I had not heard a thing. I followed this up 3 times the following day with assurances that I would receive a call with details “shortly” - the calls never came. Finally, I got through to the service team, who informed me that the part had confidently “just arrived” and that the car would be ready for collection that afternoon. On arriving at the dealership, I was provided the paperwork for the service and told that the 3 year service had been completed and that the log book had not been filled out to reflect the work done… when questioned, they gave multiple excuses and stated that at least three people had overlooked the error before the service and that there was now additional work to be done, of course, with a further cost. But wait, there is more, it was the same dealership that had completed the 3 year service exactly 12 months prior, and filled out the service book to that effect, stating clearly that the next service would be the 4 year/60,000 km service. To their credit, but certainly not a saving grace, they did not charge for the labour for the additional work. Four days later, I finally have my vehicle back, and I can assure you that I will be going elsewhere for the next service, not to mention any future purchases.

Great service by sales consultant
Mathew Seaton made the purchasing process of my new AMAROK easy.

Professional and a pleasure to deal with.

In an environment where there is little difference between dealerships in terms of price, he won the deal on service.

I'm sure he'll go far in the organization.

The level of service from Rockdale Volkswagen was really good when I took my Touareg in to get a repair done. I had a leak from behind the glovebox that soaked the carpet. I was advised it was a bent condensation Darin causing the leak. I was advised it was not covered under the extended warranty (as the factory warranty had run out 2 months ago) which I found strange as it was something that was a manufacturers fault. I like my Volkswagen but have some doubt over the quality of their cars

Very professional-looking useless team of Rockdale VW.where do I start:
- Took delivery of a brand new Amarok, and when I got it home I realised that whoever was detailing the car for pre-delivery put swirl marks all through the clear coat. Nice one! Oh well, it’s a work car and will get those scratches eventually, right?
- It took a week and a half of me pestering them to finally come up with the price for their premium canopy
- Paid a deposit for the most expensive canopy on the market, and was promised a two week turnaround.
- Two weeks later they realised that they forgot to actually order it after taking my money (!)
- Further two weeks passed and I booked the car in for installation of the canopy. They advised that it normally takes 6 hours to install, but will keep my car for 2 days just in case.
- Finally picked up my car after they worked on it for 3 (!) days: side windows on canopy do not open, the spare keys that they gave me do absolutely nothing, they scratched one of the tail lights, and didn’t bother wiping down rear window on the car before installing canopy so there are now some greasy marks between two pieces of glass (luckily the canopy window can be removed to gain access for cleaning).
- Still waiting for their tech people to come up with a solution.
- One and a half months of owning the car and I still can’t use it for my trade. Need to sell my old Amarok but still have to drive it until Rockdale VW gets their act together

Giving the service team 5 stars because my experience with place has been above and beyond every year. Ellie served me in and she maintained her professionalism even though some lady dropping off a golf was rude and was telling her to hurry up with me, we just confirmed my personal details and I was mentioning an extra issue besides the service but I was rushed by that ill mannered customer. I don’t often write reviews but after today and watching them get abused by a typical Karen it gave me the urge to give a pat on the back and give them the review they truly deserve. Honestly don’t know how Ellie and the manager kept there respects as that lady had absolutely appalling behaviour.

Ellie helped me with my service and she is a nice and professional young lady on her job.
She also takes care for her customer and advises properly when needed.
My experience there was so good that I would love to recommend anyone to visit VW Rockdale for his/her beloved cars’ maintenance.
