Great agent, disappointing property condition

I recently leased an apartment with Du Chateau Real Estate. I dealt specifically with David, who was a great agent to deal with throughout the process. He was professional, responsive. However, my experience with the property I moved into left much to be desired.

Upon moving in, I noticed that the apartment had only received a surface clean. It became evident upon closer inspection that the place had never undergone a professional clean as promised. The state of the carpets was particularly alarming; they weren’t steam cleaned, and they were covered in disgusting black stains around the edges. It was apparent that they hadn’t been adequately maintained or cleaned for quite some time.

There was also grease, stains and built up dust present throughout the apartment, making it clear that it had not been properly cleaned before my arrival. As a result, I was forced to hire professional cleaners out of my own pocket, costing me an unexpected $700.

This experience has been disappointing, to say the least. While I commend David for his excellent service as an agent, the lack of cleanliness and maintenance of the property is a major concern. I believe that a real estate company of Du Chateau’s stature should ensure their properties are in pristine condition before new tenants move in.

I hope that Du Chateau Real Estate takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements to prevent future tenants from facing similar issues. As it stands, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend them based on my experience with the property.
