It was pleasant to work with a great team at Newington. They are professional and result driven in all aspects of real estate areas from leasing, management to selling. We have been closely working with Venny and Ivy there for many years. The Morton as a established company, which has good operational procedures to make our job seamless from start to finish.

For two years I rented an apartment with Ivy as the property manager and I am incredibly disappointed with my treatment.

The property was not cleaned properly before I moved in (there was rubbish under the kitchen island and bugs on the walls and ceiling). There was also a broken and unsafe light switch among many other issues. These issues were identified in the entry condition report but never rectified beyond that. I have been the perfect tenant, I always paid on time, fixed things myself, no issues with inspections etc.

I moved out because the rent was going to increase by $230 a week. Upon explaining that it was clearly excessive I was told that the landlord thought it was fair. When I notified them that I would be moving out, the asking price was advertised for $80 less per week than they were requesting from me ($4,160 over a 12 month lease).

Despite the exit report noting that every room was clean with some minor notes in the general comments section a claim for $110 was made so that the range hood could be taken apart and cleaned inside. I was also notified of this at the last minute so that it was impossible for me to go back and clean myself or hire someone else to do it. Had the apartment been in pristine condition when I moved in, I would not have been annoyed by the cleaning claim; however I had to spend days cleaning when I moved in and quiet clearly was not given the same respect as the new tenant.
Despite asking for an invoice and requesting that the cleaner be paid directly, a claim on the bond was made and I still have not received an invoice to show the actual cost of the cleaner.

Overall I feel as though the landlord tried to get as much money out of me as possible and that Ivy was unfair and unreasonable.

As a contractor, Morton real estate are very reliable, fluent and caring. I have had excellent praises from tenants praising venny and other members of staff. I would not hesitate to recommended Morton real estate to anyone whether you’re buying, renting or leasing.

I have nothing but positive feedback for the team at Morton. I have been renting an apartment with them for the past 12 months and was dealing with Venny who is an absolute star. She’s helpful in every way possible, and quick to come back with a solution. Thank you, Venny!

I'd also like to mention that I have dealt with Dylan and Nevena who are both professional.

THIS IS A SCAM

Last Friday 13th January 2023, I made a call to one of your agents named Nevena, during the call she made clear instructions what to do when I’m interested the property. She explained that i had to hop onto the website which i received a text message with a link from Morton. I clicked it and took me through a portal then i signed all my details and waited.

Soonly i received a gmail back saying that the times i picked were not available. I’m not sure what the reasoning was but I’m assuming the tenant wants to live there a couple days/weeks before moving out. So that’s fine. I waited again until this Monday 16th of January, i called Nevena again to check if i could book another time for a private inspection as i was busy working the 3 days. A different woman was on call that day and told me she would try and transfer the call to her. Unfortunately she was busy so she told me that she’ll call me back whenever she’s free. That was fine again.

But nothing happened, no calls, messages, emails, or anything. Until today I woke up checking the rental app and website again to see if the property was taken and it clearly says “deposit taken” what the heck. You told me that I had to sign on the website via the link you sent me, then you said there’s no time available to arrange, a different woman tried transferring calls but instead ended up ignoring me, till this day the property said “deposit taken”

This is one of the first and worst real estates I’ve dealt with.

Is everyone can tell me when I can get money from bond back? I moved out from 28 September waiting until now - I asked lady working at office she said wait for 3 days after inspection. I waiting almost 2 months still not get any received.
