FYI - if i could post this without a rating that would of been great given our recent experience. Sales Rep showed up over an hour late to quote shutters and roof restoration. Shutters were quoted at one price and then immediately dropped by 4k with some convincing (still well overpriced compared to others on the market) Roof restoration we were quoted one price and managed to reduce that price by 4k however the catch was we had to sign that day because get this the sales rep cannot make his way back over as he lived far away.awkward part of this is once you sign they send you the contract and some consumer pdf of what to be weary of and they pretty much hit every bullet point!
We were told that they would check measure within a week of signing and paying deposit. After chasing up for 2 weeks, we got told that check measure couldn't happened for at least a further 5 weeks, despite the fact we made it very clear we needed the work done ASAP.
Morale of the story - fight tooth and nail to get a full deposit refund as the contract was amended without our knowledge and had "errors". And dont go with a company just because they have a big reputation and you think what could go wrong.well alot can go wrong. Sometimes its best to go local small businesses which is what we ended up with and saved $$$.

Very unhappy with their punchtuality. 40 min late, asking personal questions about my house, didn't take off his shoes to enter. Wouldn't provide a price until I got other prices then said he will try and beat it. Time wasters, dont waist your time with these clowns

The tricking thing about roof is, for me as customer, that I cannot get up there to check. I fully trusted Modern for best service but in the end I was so disappointed. Just recently I found out half of my upper level roof was not painted and re-stored. In the end they blamed me said it was my fault. The problem with Modern, the sales person who did the quote was different from the persons who did the job. The person who actually did the job were outsourcing and did not know how much I paid and what I paid for. The sales person only care about signing contract for money and roof persons only care about finish the job as quickly as they can. No one really care about the customers and gave me the advice to fully solve the roof problem. Don't use them. Use reliable roof-man, which is the same person from quoting to finishing the job and have better communication with customers. I will lodge the complaint with Fair Trading for Modern.

Very disappointed.

Had my roof done due to some leaking in my sons room.

On the day of completion the roof looked great but there were a few concerns. I managed to half fill a Coles bag with the bits of capping and cement that were blown off the roof and on to the ground during the cleaning process, the dirt that was blasted off the roof was not cleaned off the walls or hot water system and water had managed to come through into the bathroom in the garage and was running down the walls. I spoke to the tradie and he said that's how it is. I'm a nice enough guy so I let it slip in the comfort that I now have a new roof.

The rain finally came and the same leak was still there, not only that, the guttering had been blasted through during the roof cleaning process and water was pouring out of the holes on to the ground. I called modern and spoke to Jane who was Extremely Helpful in getting me to the right person to assist with my concerns. That’s about where the customer service ended. I received a call back from customer service and I won’t name him but the guy I spoke to was quite defensive, abrupt and seemingly unconcerned. He made me feel as though I was the issue. The first step taken was to put me in touch with the tradie who did the job and to get him out to assess his own work. The issue I have with this is that he was made aware of the issues and my feedback…. Awkward. Funny story, first time he came out he couldn’t find anything, I called again and he was sent out for another shot at it and behold, we had a broken tile. They had painted it and the crack was the full length of the tile. They replaced the tile and that’s the last I have heard from them. No one has called to close off the call, no one is concerned about the stains on my roof and no one is interested in the gutter issue.

Anyone know a good gutter guy?

Set up an appointment to quote and never turned up, after I raised my disappointment someone from modern called for courtesy and said they are going to investigate what happened and they going to talk to Qld GM blah blah to make you feel better. Never received a call since then. DO NOT BOTHER will modern. WASTE OF TIME! They are all over Facebook advertising!

Very friendly staff, very knowledgeable. On time and efficient installation.the shutter do block most of the heat during the heatwave days, can feel the difference. And most important of all, the shutter is made in Australia, like to support local business

I’ve called on Thursday to give me a quote on roof restoration. I received phone call five days later. The guy on other side ask me if me and my husband owner of the house if Iam having husband. What’s to got to do with quote having roof restoration done having husband? Absolutely stupid.

Very good mob to deal with, communication excellent, price was reasonable with the discount and installation was flawless.the shutter was installed 2 weeks ago and had no issues with it so far, would highly recommend this mob if you want the job done right.thank you.

Excellent job from the people at modern group. We had our roof restored, the difference it made was unbelievable. Hassle free from the time they arrived until they left. I would recommend the Modern Group to anybody who's looking at a roof restoration.

I found the guys that cleaned, renovated and sprayed out tiled roof to be very professional and friendly. They were conscious of tidying up after they were finished. Very satisfied.

From coming to give the quote unto installation everyone turned up on time and when they said they would. Everyone was more then helpful and their knowledge of the products was helpful for us making our final decision.

Poor customer service from their office. Hard to deal with and talk to over the phone. Go to Accent or elsewhere if you’re after the same product/s, much easier to deal with.
