The customer service was excellent, Michael came out to look at the space & provided a on the spot quote, John was out 3 days later to check measure & 3 weeks later Dean installed the plants shutters in 30 minutes. From start to finish I have nothing but praise! Absolute pleasure to deal with Modern Group & the finished product was perfect! Good workmanship but your pushy customer sales people use manipulative tactics and thats what has put us off wanting to deal with you guys. We've already spent about $16K with Modern Group for our plantation shutters over the past few years and have been happy with them and we even considering getting the rest of the house done plus a roof restoration however dealing with their sales team has permanently placed a bad taste in our mouths with their pushy attitude and not LISTENING to the customer. My husband and I decided to have a rep come up for a quote for a roof restoration and possibly having the remaining windows having shutters made as well. However on several occasions we have mentioned to Modern that only my husband will be present for the appointment to which the rep's tone changed and began pushing for BOTH of us to be present. This is even after we each on different phone calls told the rep I was perfectly happy for husband to make the decisions here as its not my area. There was so much resistance to agree to just have my husband be the only one present that it was obvious that they wanted me present to (in their eyes) serve as some tactical 'emotional influence', thinking a female would be able to play her part in landing a sale for them. Its almost predatory having that sale strategy but we can see right through it Modern. The first instance i knew something was amiss with Modern's genuiness in customer service was notice an abrupt change in tone when i had to inform the rep (Western Sydney area) that I couldnt make the appt but was totally comfortable for hubby to meet him - there was an immediate pushback on the idea despite me saying my husband would be the best person to consult with! He made me feel like he was wasting his time traveling that distance just to see one person. The Modern Sales Rep sounded flat and disinterested after that, so much so that he concluded the phone call like he could wait to get off the phone - it was pretty rude. Today husband received another follow up call for a reschedule appt and again it would be just him able to make the appt - the same stubborn attitude from the Sales Rep resurfaced, REFUSING to visit our home because I wasnt able to be present. What does that matter Modern? What if this were a single Dad? Would you refuse to visit him as well? Its obvious you think that your chances of a sale are higher with a female customer present to manipulate because you keep insisting that both husband and wife be at the appt. Otherwise why the REFUSAL to do the visit and quote? Your poor attitude needs to change for the better and until then we're happy to take our business somewhere else! Adios.

Found Modern Group Sydney as a bright hope to 2022. In contrast to what was looking as a dark, gloomy 2022. Professional company with professional personnel, there is no substitute to quality. Can't be much happily with the sales, installer and the after-service. The outdoor blinder staller was nice and polite, took time to explain the blind operation and the install was good. When I had an issue, Modern did not ignore my explanation and had someone to check the issues. The issues were fixed and now I'm happy with the products.

This was our third purchase with Modern. Starting with plantation shutters and then adding roller shutters, we could not be more pleased. The product is superior; the sales process was relaxed and straightforward; and the installers arrived on time and completed the work efficiently.

We have recently had a problem with external security blinds which suddenly refused to operate properly. On ringing Modern's local office we were passed to Jayne who suggested checking the battery in the 3-way switch. This fixed the problem and for $6 we have probably avoided an expensive service call. Jayne was very polite, knowledgeable and keen to assist us. We do not recall ever being advised of the need to check this battery, nor in fact, of its existance, so the response to our call was very timely and worthwhile. Thanks very much Jayne.

Will no recommend modern blinds to anyone as I have beem messed around for weeks telling me they would send a puote to me & never eventuated
obviously not interested in my sale hope you don't treate all your customers like that

This company came to fix my parents leaking roof. My parents spent many thousands of dollars. A few weeks later the roof is leaking just like before. They were extremely rude to my elderly parents. After they were paid, they told my parents they can’t guarantee the work. This is totally unacceptable. A completely untrustworthy company. Be careful of using them. I will be contacting fair trading.

I contacted Modern group in regards to some plantation shutters and could not be happier, the service and installation was fantastic. The shutters were exactly what we were after to match existing rooms in other areas of the house. They make such a difference to the rooms! Thankyou David and the team for good old fashion service and a quality finish.

We made a huge mistake by using Modern Group to restore the roof. Modern sub-contracted the work to another guy. He painted the roof in the rain even after we requested him to stop painting in the rain. When we complained to Modern Group we were told 'it's not raining'! The contractor left more than a dozen broken tiles on the roof, the gutters were left full of debris, the property was left in a big mess, the roof that never leaked started to leak etc etc etc.

We had the roof of the second house restored by a different company who were honest, did a great job and charged much less than Modern Group.
We will not use Modern Group again even if their services are free.

With the COVID LGA & Construction lock downs Jon was constantly in contact to ensure we had a date booked for the installation of our Plantations so when it all opened up again we hit the ground running. We were not ready when the original booked date came around so Jon booked us in the following week and we put pressure on our builder to have the windows ready for this new date. Jon teams worked late that day to get out plantations in as after 5 months of renovations and living out of the house Jon knew that was the day we were going home and he did everything to get our plantations in so we could have privacy for our first night home. Thank you Jon and your team for going above and beyond for us. Modern Plantation are excellent quality and we are so happy we choose Modern. Thank you Katrina & Steve Menai NSW

Excellent service from Modern Group. From the initial enquiry regarding plantation shutters, the first measure (on a very wet day) the home visit with full explanation and options available, second measure, installation and all communication in between;. I made the right decision to use modern group for plantation shutters. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. BTW, I like your sense of humour John, I realize now you were the person I initially spoke to on enquiry. Thanks for my beautiful home grown shutters.
