Spiro Economy provided excellent service to my family when we decided to purchase property in Sydney's Inner West. He connects easily with people and was highly diligent in helping us secure great homes since 2019.

I can't say anything positive in my dealing with McGrath Real Estate Agents. From day one, the process was painful, time-consuming and expensive. McGrath's service is impersonal, unprofessional and inattentive.

The Bottom Line: Whether you are a tenant, landlord or someone wanting to sell a property in the Inner West, you should avoid using McGrath.

If you have to use McGrath ensure you document everything from the day you move in.

I moved into a property in November 2020. McGrath did not ensure the gas and hot water were connected and functional when we moved in

I have never had an issue with getting my bond back in multiple properties over the past 15 years however we had issues getting our bond back, with the agent claiming over $900 in repairs and cleaning.

I disputed McGrath's attempt to claim a portion of the bond for cleaning and repair expenses I've included NCAT's words below: -

"The tenants had made the place available for inspection for a long period before vacating to benefit the landlord and by the sale and would not have been in a position to leave it any cleaner.

The tenants also gave evidence that in all the times the property was made available for inspection, no issue was raised with an alleged burn mark on the kitchen bench. The mark was not discernible in the enlarged exit photos. Clearly, it was not a defect that caused the landlord to take any rectification action for open houses or inspections by the new purchasers before settlement.

The full bond is to be paid to the tenants. "

Nathan Brannelly from McGrath is professional, personable but most importantly courteous and considerate. We had been looking to downsize and rent an apartment in our same complex when we first met Nathan. The whole process from start to finish was seamless and made that much easier through dealing with him. Nathan is an asset to McGrath.

Our teenage son noted several times "that estate agent was the best one. " We saw eight different Balmain properties that day, including two where Stephanie Foti from McGrath Estate Agents was organising the viewings. She was welcoming and approachable. We spoke to her about several concerns we had about our situation affecting our application (We had just moved from abroad). She was very helpful with her advice.

We applied to several of those properties, but one of Stephanie's was our favourite. The first business after we applied we already got a response from Stephanie that the owner has accepted our application. Every step of the way since, Stephanie has been extremely helpful in assisting with the leasing process and answering our questions.

My wife and I have dealt with many agents over the past few weeks. We both agree with our son. Stephanie was the best one.

We applied for a rental apartment 2 days ago, haven’t heard back from McGrath yet, and just found out another inspection was scheduled for this property. Agents (Jade and Nathan) are ignoring my text and voice messages, and looks like will never come back to me with an update on our application.
Such unprofessional and indifferent attitude just adds up stress to the emotionally draining process.
And I would avoid these guys next time for sure.

My wife and I have been using McGrath Estate Agents for about 15 years and have generally been very impressed with the property managers who have looked after our Petersham property. For the last few years Jessica Taylor has been looking after us and her service has been outstanding. She is prompt in her communication with us about issues affecting the property and makes the effort to get more than one quote for jobs. Jessica is good at finding quality tradespeople at reasonable prices and is always very polite and cheerful in her dealings with us.

Very happy with McGrath Real Estate. In particular, I found Daniela to be very professional and responsive. She is excellent at her job, we had a great experience with her as our property manager. McGrath handles matters as all real estates should! I hope to rent through them again.
