Mad Max 2 museum reviews
71I was excited to see this attraction and was not disappointed. Worth the drive from the Central Coast and the owners are a delight.
Amazing place to spend time
I have never thought I can see a rich collection like this from the Mad Max movies
Thank you for showing it to us!
Attila the Hun and Anna
A paradise for die-hard Mad max fans…. Wide range of collection including original /replica of items/vehicles, artefacts and remains from the shoot. Really interesting to see how it has all been preserved so beautifully over the years… highly recommended and must visit at Silverton. Here is something - try to find the morning schedule from a particular day of the shoot displayed from 1983 in the photographs section of the room
If you're in Broken Hill its worth the short trip out to this Museum. Even if you're not a Mad Max enthusiast there is enough memorabilia, photos and back stories to peak ones interest. You get some idea of the workings behind the scenes of a movie set. I found the old scripts most interesting, seems like anyone could write one really. Go here rather than heading to the half arsed sculptures in the desert.
Lots of interesting memorabilia, photos and information from the Mad Max 2 movie. To enjoy this museum you really need to have seen and enjoyed the Mad Max movies.
Adrian and Linda and the Mad Max museum is a must visit, absolutely awesome. Thankyou Wayne Adrienne and Hemi.
Great hosts Linda and Adrian. Good to listen to their story about how they got started. Interesting museum with many detailed exhibits. Low cost entry fee. Selection of souverniers available. Aussie film history not to miss.
If you're a Mad Max fan like I am or enjoy apocalyptic settings then this place is incredibly cool, their collection of Mad Max 2 memorabilia is unrivaled and visiting Silverton really feels like you're stepping into that world. Owners are friendly and you can pick up some merchandise to support the small business (I love the Mad Max number plate I've put on my work desk!)
This place is about 100m beyond the Silverton bakery and the art museum, roads are unsealed but just for the short distance.
You could easily spend a few hours here scanning the dozens of photographs taken during filming of the Mad Max movies.
There is also a huge range of costumes, props, artefacts and cars/bikes from the filming.
Fantastic place to visit and so many different and new things to see this is a must not only for Mad Max fans for anyone. The owners Adrian and Linda are so friendly and we really enjoyed chatting with them.
Absolutely awesome museum on everything Mad Max Adrian and Linda are wonderful and Hemi says thank you
A must visit if in the area. Silverton is a great little place & this museum was the highlight for us. It helps if you're a fan of the movies and the owners make it even better.
We visited on our way back from doing the Sh! Tbox Rally for The Cancer Council & these guys helped out with an unexpected donation which is warmly appreciated.
Thanks guys, keep up the good work & it's great to see such a detailed tribute to the Mad Max movies
The ONLY Mad Max Museum in the WORLD! Find them on Instagram and Facebook for up to daily posts and giveaways.
Eftpos/card machine available also, which seems to go down well with visitors! Wifi permitting. After all, it is the outback. You have to see it to believe it.
Can’t wait for the event in 2022 and filming for the latest Mad Max Movie is happening here this year! This is gonna explode! So if ya wanna get in here, talk to them.
A lot of genuine items as seen in the movie, worth visiting to appreciate what goes into & makes the magic, museum now has expanded & has EFTPOS available
Everyone in Silverton prefers cash.however these guys did take eftpos! It was airconditioned and quirky inside. Lots of photo memorabilia.thats the main thing you will see. There is also a section with some of the cars and bikes. It is worth the visit even if you haven't seen Mad Max 2 as it is a good experience. No photos inside.
Looks awesome comming in 2 years, is there a souvenir shop, t shirts or figures posters or something? Thanks, edit no problem see you in 2 years then and thanks for your reply its good to know!
The Mad Max 2 museum was brilliant walk down memory lane for me. So much memorabilia and fantastic hosts. Amazing knowledge and stories. I would happily recommend this place to everyone. Must see destination.
Interesting to look back over the old footage. It is in the middle of not much, that's half it's appeal.
Very interesting town. Can see why Mad Max was made here. Very dry photo 5 is a dry riverbed. Tourism keeps the town going. Around 20 from Broken Hill. Great gallery there worth a look. There is a bakery and the hotel.
The staff here were super passionate about Mad Max 2, and ensured everyone got something out of their visit.
