Lightning Ridge Visitor Information Centre reviews
61It's the first stop you should make when you get to town. Drop in and buy your maps, and let the staff give you the best advice on what to do in town. We also grabbed some maps for our travels. Don't expect big things, it's pretty basic but it does the job it needs to. Plus, they regularly have dig piles delivered for visitors to pick through looking for opals!
Excellent service! Really good knowledge of area and maps of the wider region and a nice selection of tourist memorabilia
Very friendly and welcoming.
Went to lightning ridge on business and found it much grown in the tears since our last visit. Unfortunately didn't get to sightsee this visit but is on the agenda in the near future.
One of the best information centres we have been to. Sue was very helpful and happy to help me with all my queries. Gave me all the paperwork I could need to find all the places I wanted to see and that Sue advised we should pop into. All attractions are itemised and numbered and so easy to find. Thanks heaps Sue - much appreciated
Lots of information as you would expect. Service is very robotic, they didn't ask what we were interested in they just told you what was there.
The best visitor Centre period!
All visitor centers should learn what lightning Ridge does.
All the information you want at your fingertips to what is open, what time they operate, how much it costs, and everything listed on a convenient map. What else can you ask for?
The ladies really look after you and are very happy to answer questions that you have, thank you!
The folks are friendly and honest. They have good information, including official council info and local insights
If travelling to the Ridge you absolutely need to make this your first stop. You can get a map of all the local eccentricities and have a great chat with Sue who loves to pass on local knowledge. Grab yourself some souvenirs while there!
Great Tourist information with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Pick up souvenirs, lots of info and free maps. There’s a little coffee machine and outdoor seating area and a fossicking area if you fancy your luck
Hosts the Sunday markets in the forecourt area.
Have a stroll through the IBC Gem gardens at the end of the car park to pick up some local flora and fauna knowledge.
Very helpful with lots of information about attractions in the area. Staff very knowledgeable and told me information not in brochures like road conditions and facilities available along the way.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great advice on the area. Every visitor should call in and chat to the wonderful ladies there.
Best centre I've been to in nsw Michael was very good for local knowledge the ladies was very help full they knew where to send you they tryed to make your stay in the ridge a one you wouldn't forget I couldn't find a fault in the General community of the ridge people they do a excellent job making travellers feel welcome only bad part was lorne station in town cut our stay in the ridge to a end because we were honest about the caravan park the owners got nasty with us & abused us in the main street & told us to leave town or we would regret it I don't blame the ridge people but if you can't run a business properly then you deserve to get complaints but as for the rest of the town ten out of ten for service attitudes & friendliness thank you walgett council I'm glad we called in and had a very unique and different experience
I dropped in here as soon as I arrived in town, and thankfully so. The lady at the desk advised me of the best places for sunset shots, and her local knowledge paid in spades
Grawin great place to noodle for opal I found an opal valued at $2,500 and plenty of other opals
It's an information centre. The people are helpful and friendly.
Spend some time in the pile beside it as they tell us they are always refreshing it so you have a good chance of finding some cool little pieces of colour.
Super helpful folk behind the counter and a plethora of information. Make sure to pick up your car door tour map for $1. Also make sure to check out the fossicking heap next door to the visitors centre.
