Lightning Ridge Visitor Information Centre reviews
61The lady at the visitors centre was very lovely with lots of great information @ things to do, had a great day.
Best info centre we have been to. No one hassled us as we walked in.
Lots of local products to purchase. The lady that helped us was super friendly and very knowledgeable about her home town. She knew exactly what we wanted to see and do
The Lightning Ridge Visitor Centre is not just worth a look in. It’s an absolute necessity for anyone visiting Lightning Ridge. Lightning Ridge is an absolute rabbit warren. There are so many tours and eclectic things to see and do, dirt roads and tracks going in all directions, thousands of random holes in the ground, you really need to drop by the visitor centre and grab a map and some info to make sense of it all.
Very helpful.have all the maps you need to explore what Lighting Ridge has to offer. Lots of people head to this space so they are up with the info.
It's ok. Everything in Lightning ridge is overpriced for what it is but hey you have driven all the way out there, silly to not do anything just because of price. My pick of what to do in lr would be do the black hand art at $48 and watch the videos you see there give you a good view on mining and covers what you see in the walk in mine. Also do the night show sparks $18 which again covers mining. Must do the artesian bore which is free.
Both the staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. This place is a must if you're visiting. They know what is open and what's closed and when best to see the attractions. Highly recommended. Also great selection of gifts including clothing.
Sue was super helpful and shared lots of information on what to see and do in the Lightning Ridge town and surrounds. Highlyrecommend
Would highly recommend stopping in and getting your car door tour maps, the ladies there are very knowledgeable and very friendly and know everything about Lightning Ridge and what and where to go, thanks ladies
Staff were very friendly and told us of areas to go and see. Also informed of local market that was on the Sunday morning. Stayed 2 nights visiting various place.
Sue was very friendly, helpful and knew the area well. Delivered with pride what Lightning Ridge has to offer visitors.
Spent time at the information centre yesterday with Sue. She was a fountain of local knowledge as well as being very friendly. We are off exploring today knowing exactly what we are going to do. Thanks again Sue.
Thanks for all of the helpful information re the self guided tours and attractions in the town. We’ve had a fabulous day being tourists in this very unique town.
Provided good advice to my wife and I as tourists never been to Lightening Ridge before. Provided maps and suggested things to do. Staff very friendly, professional and engaging. Did not know about Grawin opal fields until told about same in the tourist visitor and turned to be a highlight of our visit to LR to do a day trip out yhere and visit the 3 Pubs in The Scrub. Recommend visiting here
Excellent service
Such helpful friendly staff
We are truly grateful for their help as we would not have seen so much without their maps & direction!
Thankyou so much, keep up the good work
Loved the markets too
Was told that Goodooga springs area was very boggy and not to visit after rain. The immediate camping area round the springs is gravel and aggregate and not boggy.
Well done to the ladies in the centre. They are all helpful, & happy to passing on as much or as little information as you want. Welcoming & warming. Highly recommend stopping in
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. They have a wealth of information and are happy to take as long as necessary to answer questions and tailor information and help. We spent an interesting 4 days, with lots to do and see. We are very grateful to the staff there. Thank you!
Wealth of information and met the most pleasant and helpful young women staff member. She could not do enough for us.
Very helpful re road conditions, informative of things to do and see, and a good range of souvenirs.
