Jervis Bay Maritime Museum reviews
53There were covid restrictions in place. They did their best to accommodate under the circumstances. To be able to walk on to a timber ferry made my day. AAA+
Half of the museum was closed today for renovations but it filled time on a wet and windy day for an hour or so and the kids learned some local history. The scavenger hunt was a hit for the 8-11yo kids.
A small but interesting museum. There's a small ferry you can walk through inside. Another room goes through some of the early maritime explorers of Australia. Unfortunately another area of the museum was closed for renovation. $6 entry, children I overheard were free
I got the feeling that the place has much more potential than what it is.half of the exhibition is closed and one room had audio only without video. With the knowledge and experience NSW has in boating I thought there would be something more fun.maybe interactive workshop or lessons for boating, water games or something that would make you want to come again. I'm afraid the exhibition is less than average and not much more.after our visit we sat outside thinking to ourselves this can be so much more - maybe even just a Meetup place for boat lovers who want to create or share their knowledge/experiences. As an ex navy I see it as an obligation to visit any Martine museum I run into, I'd definitely come again when the kids are older see what else the place offer in the future.
What an interesting little find! You cannot fish here but you can feed the large fish in the pond and there are such a great variety that would be hard to see naturally
An exhibition well worth the time to see, as our history of the craftsmanship in years gone past is something that we all need to see. The museums grounds are great for a tour with children also
We loved it. The treasure hunt for the children kept my thirteen and eleven year old interested and occupied. Worth the effort and not expensive. A great place to fill in 2 hours
Quite and beautiful slightly hidden location. Fabulous exhibits throughout. We utalized the corporate functions room which was well equipped with all the mod cons. Friendly staff made a memorable impression.
So much detail on Maritime. Visual and vision wise. You can spend an hour or more absorbing the history provided. Suitable for children and adults. Very pleased we called.
This is a first class Museum dedicated to the Old Ferry Lady Denman which plyed the waters of Sidney for many years plus fantastic local history and artefacts from around the world brilliant thanks all concerned with it...
Great surprise, such an interesting museum in Husky. Some fascinating exhibits, a great collection of swords. The mangrove boardwalk is worth doing too.
Well worth a visit, heaps of history and interesting exhibits. Outdoors has highlights too, walkway through the mangroves.
The place could do with some excitement on the exterior. Inside, there is plenty to see and look at and spend some time here, for everyone including kids. There are multiple benches outside to sit, if you just want to relax.
Be sure to watch your kids though, there are multiple stairs and things they can hurt themselves.
